When will we be able to obtain this thing… its been months and many people already have the unbound and are just waiting on making the gift of infinity and fractal. Just would like some kind of estimate on when they will be dropped in the game so we can make them. Unbound is cool and all but I want Ad Infinitium its why I even went for it. I didn’t think id make unbound and have a stupid long wait time to make the thing..

i’ll put it this way I had enough time to grind out the legendary shield while I’m waiting for the backpeice.. XD

Something like 105 extra journal pages atm lol…. really would like some info on when it’s gonna be in game, or if it’s getting delayed for nothing other than leaderboards…

They are probably trying to come up with a creative goldsink and timegate collection to keep us busy for a few months while they take their time picking their noses and throwing together the rest of the absurd legendary collections :p

With Anet taking this long to finish up the recipes for gift of infinity and gift of fractal, I have mixed feelings about what they could be at this point. They could be obtained via a nice collection like unbound was.. but if they end up being some mystic forge recipe like:

100 pristine fractal relics, 250 ecto, 250 stabilizing matrixes and 50 balls of dark energy, Ad Infinitium could become the most expensive legendary in the game.

The pvp legendary backpiece is reasonably priced in terms of gold but the crossing league divisions achievement is the real time sink grind. But at least while working on that achievement you’re getting the tickets needed to buy the 4 wing back pieces that you forge into the precursor. So you’re killing two birds with one stone.

But with Ad Infinitium the same grind is there with doing all the fractals needed to make the capacitor, and all this is just to make the precursor Unbound. As much as I’d like the 2 new gifts to be a collection based thing.. I have a feeling that if they are, and they’re being released this late into the process, we’ll have to basically do everything we’ve already done to make unbound, except a second time because then it’ll count towards the new achievements.

I want Ad Infinitium pretty bad, but if the new gifts require us to do fractals 50-100 or needs balls of dark energy and endless fractal grinding and gold grinding to get more AR, I think I’ll pass on even trying to finish it at that point.

This is how stuff is done, creating content takes longer time cuz of cost efficiencies. Thats why alot of the systems we have in gw2 is made for mass replayability.

Naaah maaaan… recipe: 10x +10 infusion, Endless fractal tonic, 25 regular fractal skins of the same weapon (500 pristines), 50 balls of dark energy.

Just out of interest, will it actually give anything special, like footfalls or anything?

So far no sign of footfalls, and while I think we all assume there’ll be a glider, I don’t think that’s been verified.
If the cost is just pristines, dark energy, and stabilizing matrices, I’d be happy lol.

One gift idea might be: 250 Stabilizing Matrices, and 3 completed journals, traded in to the 98/99/100 fractals. Just because i’d imagine Anet requiring the legendary to need lvl 100.

Well, timing wise, if you started gathering pages since the beginning, should have more than enough pages for 3 more journals currently:) (I’m at 107, missed at least one daily though)

I’m almost ddddgiving up playing this game since the last updates didn’t even mention the legendary backpiece or the new set of legendary wepons….I was really hoping some info on that for months by now. I appreciate the works with gliding on Tyria and shattererd etc but i still want to finish crafting the so anticipated backpiece AND a new legendary greatsword, which i know weren’t announced and could not come in the next set of wepons but, hey what is the reason you guys can’t say a wonrd on this topic?
At least tell us there will be no wepons on the next following months so we can have our expectations down a bit

Except that they said 2 days ago that Ad Infinitum will be completable in the Spring update.

My guess is the spring patch will be the same time they remove SAB. Let’s hope it contains ad Infinitum…

Welp we got Super Adventure box and still no back piece… maybe next week? or the week after that? or after that?… Anyone else seeing a pattern?…

You’ll have to make 4 of them and flush them down the mystic toilet. Make the back piece live up to its name.
