I need suggestions for gauntlets/dyes

Enameled Emblazon, accent with Mahogany, Midnight Rust and Earthen.

I strongly recommend Enameled dyes for their high contrast and saturation.

Hmm, thoughts on magitech armor on asura?

I like the gloves and coat but not the boots, so I am on the fence about blowing another 100g on yet another store armor; fashion for my midget thief is escaping me.

Any pictures of that said Asura?

Since I was supposed to move the discussion into this thread, I’ll do just that.

This is the provisory combination I’m using I’m not completely satisfied with that. Don’t mind the dyes either, I just dyed it in a style like the aetherblade pants are dyed to begin with.

As for the attachment, that’s how the pants would look combined with cabalists @Lilith. Dyes are just picked in order to see the different details.

The cabalist is definitely a no-go. Maybe the Orr karma coat? might go well with the skirt. but I don’t really like the skirt tbh (unless it’s on my asura!)

Also, if Honor of the waves chest doesn’t give you that weird belly shirt thing, it might look okay. All in all, that skirt is tough to match. Perhaps Trickster, maybe. Hm.

Personally ive always felt with sylvari its either cultural or TA or nothing.

I agree with Spoj on this one. Sylvari need cultural or TA armor to look good, otherwise they’ll just look like generic human 2.0.

And for light armor I’d use:

T2 headpiece
T3 shoulders
TA coat
TA gloves
T1/2 skirt
T1/2 shoes.

But most importantly the dyes are what makes sylvari special. Eventhoug the armor selection is rather limited you can make them look completely different with different dye schemes.

My exact problem. I’ll test that out once I’m in gw2 later and will post screens then.

@Spoj and Taku: I actually had the T3 but ditched it, because the whole “Sylvari have to wear cultural or TA”-thing was too generic for me. I’ll prolly give it to another character some time, but my main won’t wear it. I also should’ve mentioned that I already have a full armor set and it’s just a second one where I want to use the skirt. Ty for your input.

These are some serious contenders for my mesmer’s assassin armors. I settled with the (last) cheesy T3 look even though it’s not the most inspirational or unique one out there. My reasons:

1. It looks alright and fits my mesmer’ theme and name (and her iLight)
2. I didn’t have enough TA tokens at the time
3. Still on the fence with the gem store armor. I don’t love the pieces not used in the pictures
4. One step closer to The Emperor title.

If you want something extraordinary other than plain cultural and TA armors, it’s worth considering your sylvarie’s personality, class, weapons and even the relevant plant theme for it. Good luck!

Absolutely agreed. Sylvari can be like humans, with more interesting skin/hair combinations which still look natural. The glows can also be used in interesting ways.

“I will post screens later.” – Except in case I forget about it, which I did.

Ignoring the colors (and probably everything else except chest and pants) those are the four possibilities which could, maybe, work out (and me having unlocked those, even if unlocking skins wouldn’t be much of a problem…)
Craft- (2nd) and Heritage (4th) don’t look too good imo, Karma is okay (3rd) and Stately (1st) looks best out of those imo.

Any other ideas/input?

Myself, I’m tempted to change my guardian’s backpiece. The old one is unique, not very flashy and fits well with the aetherblade metal tubes and gears. The wind catcher is, however, interesting and color coordinated.

Has anyone changed their character’s hair colour to one of the new greens or pinks? I was debating changing the colour scheme on my asura from blue to green, but the green hair seems really desaturated that I might just wear a helmet or something to cover it; thoughts?

Decided to eliminate my wvw set for my warrior since I haven’t taken her in there in forever. Making a Str Rune set and I’ve been contemplating a few looks. I don’t have my heart set on anything much beyond having a white colored base. I’ve tried a few looks with the Phalanx legs, but that could be changed.

Suggestions?

I want to get a style that looks good with a monocle for my asura guardian. I know, tough with the heavy armor. Any suggestions?

Best I could come up with was just going back to the HoTW styles, but is there something better I’m overlooking?

I really wish I could wear light armor on my guard as that’d open up so many good options. Or if I could use the monocle with my outfits I think it’d look good with either the chef or the winter festival, but I can’t do either of those things

I’ll have to check out vigil. Yeah, I was planning on HOTW chest/shoulders, with Brahm legs, then unsure on feet, I kinda like the ascalonian because I don’t like the asura toes or whatever those things are.
