Hey guys. I’d like to start a little community initiative which we can easily show to Danicia when she gathers feedback and such to bring back to developers. Please post your bugs and issues here, and i will update this post. I’ll start:

  1. Dungeon runes are soulbound on acquire, even ones that drop from the forge
  2. Twilight Arbor dungeon light mantle clips badly with long hair
  3. LFG merge button will destroy an instance, if someone from outside the party clicks it.
  4. SE explorable mode. Mainly effects path 3. Floor is missing which breaks patrol route of one group of dredge. Also forces the group to go a longer route to reach the first boss.
  5. All dungeons. Spiders and other mobs which start off as green and/or drop down from the roof when approached are all visible from instance start now. Examples are TA spiders and malrona in malronas cave. The 6 archers in TA forward path. All spiders in arah.
  6. Arah and COE broken waypoints
  7. Volcanic fractal. Still has a broken camera on the final boss fight.
  8. The crystal bug in CoE where a player gets crystalized by Subject Alpha, his team breaks the crystal, but the player remains paralyzed for 15 secs or more anyway.
  9. The many exploits in Arah. Teleporting underwater. Becoming phase-shifted when not supposed to (“god mode”). Skipping Lupi. Etc.
  10. NPC’s bugging. NPC’s aggroing enemies when they’re not supposed to. NPC’s not following the right player. NPC’s being stupid in general.
  11. For AC path 3 the final boss can be killed. But no end reward is recieved. The daily bonus chest appears on boss kill. But the final cutscene doesnt trigger and the xp, 20 tokens and silver end reward doesnt appear. Essentially the path doesnt finish despite all objectives being complete and the daily bonus reward being received. Unconfirmed cause (possibly due to fast kill).
  12. AC P3, after the burrow event in the room with Grast, Tzark sometimes bugs and doesn’t start his sequence. The dungeon thus can’t be completed, as the hole doesn’t open for us to get to the endboss.
  13. Arah P4, the NPC that transforms into the risen avatar of Lyssa bugs out more than often and doesn’t start her sequence, leading to the boss not appearing. The dungeon can’t be completed under this conditon.
  14. CM Path 1, Frost can still be exploited, in pure safety.
  15. Arah Path 1, Ancient Ooze can still be exploited, in pure safety.
  16. AC Path 2, occasionally the Charr NPC (who’s name I do not know) will not trigger the trap event and follow a random player. The Ascalonian Captain does not spawn.
  17. COE paths 1/2/3, players are still able to fight Subject Alpha before a path has been selected.
  18. SE p3 – first boss can be exploited
  19. Arah path 2: occasionally Belka does not activate, forcing a restart of the instance.
  20. arah p3 – Wraithlord Mage Crusher can be exploited
  21. AC P1 has trouble with Hodgins before the ‘scepter hunt’. He occasionally requires members to WP back to center to reset him and trigger the ‘scepter hunt’.
  22. Cof path 2 when Maggie doesn’t start his dialogue when people find the rock
  23. When your weapon swap is on cooldown and you enter a cutscene, your weapon swap will bug and you will not be able to swap weapons until you have done so manually by opening the hero window and pressing the arrows.
  24. Sometimes when you swap in a skill that you also have in your underwater skills, it will have the same cooldown as one of the skills already on your bar. (e.g. my Banner of Discipline is on 100 seconds cooldown, I swap in Signet of Fury and it is now also on 100 seconds cooldown.)
  25. AC p2: Detha can bug at the first event with the spike traps (not sure how).
  26. Arah p3: the NPC can bug and not trigger the cutscene before the ritual starts (not talking about her dying next to the chicken cage). She will be standing in the middle of the Altar with the chicken in her hand but not trigger the cutscene and she will start following nearby players when you get to her.
  27. HoTW p1: You can safespot the boss on the stairs (not sure what he is called).
  28. CM p1: I’m not sure if it’s a bug, but the NPC will often not come to you when you spam interact on one of the items you have to destroy as the first objective of the path. I have once been spamming interact for ~30 seconds and she still didn’t come.
  29. SE p3: The conversation between the champion and silver dredge (before the destroyer) will often not trigger and they will become agressive right away.

Let me know of anything else. Also, if you are reading this, Danicia, could you let me/us know which numbers you have noted and taken back (or refuse to take back to devs, if that’s the case) so we can stop talking about them?

30. TA forward: a terrain exploit can be used to skip a portion of mobs. This is so common that it is easier to avoid this path altogether than to convince PUGs to do a proper run.

31. TA up: Fyonna may sometimes bug and not turn red. Can be “fixed” by relocating the whole party a bit back to the spider cave, and then down to Fyonna to retrigger the dialogue.

32. CM p2: final boss can be bugged to stay in place and not move around.

33. CM: fire turrets can attack players through walls; and the other way round, players can attack turrets and mobs through walls. AFAIK this is an old and game-wide issue, but thin walls and small rooms of CM make it very noticeable.

Big Arah bugs:

  1. Arah P1 – if the NPC is dead at the time and you either use a portal from a mesmer to leave the area or stealth, the two vile oozes that Ancient Ooze split into will despawn.
  2. Arah P1 – Korga frequently gets stuck in the walls during fights after he rushes.
  3. Arah P1 – There is a hole on the wall that any player can clearly see when passing Korga (right around the corner, against the left-side on the passageway) that a player can walk into and fall into and pretty much just walk underneath the map. It’s pathetic and depressing to see all of these unused textures we’re rendering each time the instance is loaded.
  4. Arah P1 (P3 and P4 too if you exploit into the area I guess) – Berserker Abomination is invisible and still attackable at the point where he spawns. Not a big deal but kind of stupid to just attack an invisible object to stack adrenaline.
  5. Arah P2 – Belka (first boss) will stop teleporting if you immediately run to the entrance behind the bone wall, resulting in her resetting to her original location. Upon running back, she will launch an electric bomb that automatically hits you unless you evade, despite how far away you are from the AoE ring.
  6. Arah P2 – Alphard – mesmers, thieves and elementalists can blink up onto a ledge and jump onto a fabric where they are able to safely range Alphard from a distance. Anyone else is able to be ported up there where they can use an ember consumable. After spawning the ember, attacking Alphard from this spot and walking back 1-2 steps results in the ember taking aggro. The ember is out of Alphard’s line of sight and every attack on it will result in “invulnerable.”
  7. Arah P2 – Alphard – The same climbable mushroom-like object can be used to safespot Alphard with melee. If you engage the fight with Alphard by attacking with ranged and quickly run behind said object, you will be able to melee Alphard by quickly stepping back onto a small sand hill next to you once he gets close enough. He will then be trapped underneath the object and every shot of his will be obstructed, effectively enabling one to safespot him.
  8. Arah P2 – Northeast barrier at Alphard; if you run up all the way to the corner during one of Alphard’s daggerstorm, you will be able to go OOC and disengage in combat with Alphard but her HP will not reset. Barriers will respawn and all currently alive clones will instantly disappear.
  9. Arah P2 – If you set a mortar turret consumable up outside of the dome facing Brie, she will stare at the turret until it is killed by the mobs, enabling a player to freely attack Brie until the mortar is destroyed.
  10. Arah P2 – If you stand outside of 1200 range at Brie after engaging in combat but without fully running to go OOC, she will stare at you without attacking. This isn’t much of a bug, but it indicates that she evidently needs an increased attack range or needs to be able to move around inside of the dome.
  11. Arah P3 – If you stand at the door right when the path is starting before crusher+hunter (you wait until you’re about to reach the door where the mobs spawn before clicking on the path), you will be able to pass through the door at the same instant the four elite guards are spawned and effectively skip them.
  12. Arah P3 – If Warden Ilyra dies after the cutscene succeeding the Lupicus fight (she often gets killed by the risen spiders) at the chicken cage, she will get bugged when you revive her. You have to revive her for the Passage Waypoint to appear and start the ending cutscene with the ritual + wraithlord fight. The only way to fix the bug and get her to stop standing there is to lure the spiders over and attack them right next to her. She will then start engaging in combat with them and you can proceed to the end.
  13. Arah P4 – Simin, the high priestess of Dwayna, is still capable of bugging by LOSing behind a rock near the east wall resulting in her freezing up like a statue; unresponsive to any attacks, she will not attack anyone or go into hiding allowing players to freely DPS her out provided she gets in this state.
  14. Arah P4 – The bloodstone shard doesn’t reset to full HP even when all players are far out of its range. As long as the player who hosted doesn’t go OOC, it will remain at low hp forever.
  15. Arah (all paths, Lupicus fight) – if Lupicus touches one of the unopened exit doorways, he fully resets… in the middle of the fight.

There are 2 waypoints in CoE that appear only upon completing the instance, rather than killing the relavent bosses.

The crystal bug in CoE where a player gets crystalized by Subject Alpha, his team breaks the crystal, but the player remains paralyzed for 30 secs or more anyway.

The many exploits in Arah. Teleporting underwater. Becoming phase-shifted when not supposed to (“god mode”). Skipping Lupi. Etc.

NPC’s bugging. NPC’s aggroing enemies when they’re not supposed to. NPC’s not following the right player. NPC’s being stupid in general.

there’s a bug I forgot to include earlier. and this one really, really, really annoys me. it happened to us 3 times in a row last week.

if you kill the last boss in AC p3 too quickly (we do it by pulling him around behind/inside the pillar then 4x FGS him), you dont get end credit for the dungeon. the daily chest with the 1.5g appears, but the cutscene and the “Dungeon Complete!” message with the 26s and the 20 tokens never happens. we waited 10 mins at the end just in case it was delayed, but nope – it was definitely bugged. the fact it happened to us 3 times in a row shows its not just a freak accident – its definitely a programming error.

Well two bugs come to mind :

- AC P3, after the burrow event in the room with Grast, Tzark sometimes bugs and doesn’t start his sequence. The dungeon thus can’t be completed, as the hole doesn’t open for us to get to the endboss.

Can y’all word it so that it’s a bit more clear about what the bug is? Might be easier for a developer to understand what you’re saying. If it has an unknown cause, that’s fine too.

Arah Path 1, Ancient Ooze can still be meleed on the coral in pure safety.

AC Path 2, occasionally the Charr NPC (who’s name I do not know) will not trigger the trap event and follow a random player. The Ascalonian Captain does not spawn.

COE paths 1/2/3, players are still able to leap over the door and fight Subject Alpha before a path has been selected.

The crystal bug in CoE where a player gets crystalized by Subject Alpha, his team breaks the crystal, but the player remains paralyzed for 30 secs or more anyway.

It’s 15 seconds. Exactly. Unless you are hit twice by the bug in a row.

Also, you write down explicit exploits. I’d edit the ones with “in pure safety” to remove the exploit. Ideally I’d say “boss X can still be exploited in pure safety”.

Lilith: For clarification, the #16 NPC is Detha and seems to be better than it used to be since now nearly everyone runs to far right corner. Still worth keeping on list but perhaps clarification for Devs would be good.

Oh, I forgot about another Magg related bug (CoF2). The bomb chamber sometimes bugs to where Magg will not trigger dialogue to let players collect Bombs/explosives. WP does not fix this and a dungeon reset is required.

Not completely dungeon related:

HoTW p1: You can safespot the boss on the stairs (not sure what he is called).

CM p1: I’m not sure if it’s a bug, but the NPC will often not come to you when you spam interact on one of the items you have to destroy as the first objective of the path. I have once been spamming interact for ~30 seconds and she still didn’t come.

SE p3: The conversation between the champion and silver dredge (before the destroyer) will often not trigger and they will become agressive right away.

Edit: Also Lilith, you might want to consider making it a priority list (listing the more important and pressing issues at the top). Right now ‘Dungeon runes are soulbound’ and ‘TA light mantle clips’ are at the top, which I don’t think many players would find very gamebreaking bugs and things like dungeon paths not finishing when you kill the last boss would be much more appreciated if they were fixed.

This happens with a lot of dungeon dialogue, I think it’s because the trigger for it is someone walking into an area, but the triggers for it to stop aren’t well done and if multiple people walk into the area at the same time it triggers more than once.

Yeah, I have the same issue. My PC isn’t the best anymore, but I’m fine in most of the dungeons. I don’t have much FPS when there are heavy “smoke shaders” (swamp fractals, SE, CoE p3). In Arah, I don’t get more than 10 FPS no matter the graphic settings for whatever reason

I would gladly do this, if you would, order it how you would want it ordered.

Agreed, I hope they never fix that bug. There was a similar problem in HotW p1 (when you fight the two elites right before the final boss) but it seems it was fixed at some point.

But while we’re talking about this path: the SE p3 armoured carrier can still be exploited.

They can be categorized as:

  • Dungeon path: waypoints, terrain exploits, end rewards
  • AI bugs: include hostile or non-hostile enemies and NPC. Broken fight mechanics. E.g. Alphard pulls through reflects.
  • Item and Skill bugs: including weapon swapping or utilities swapping bug.
  • Instance and LFG related bugs: for example, merge-griefing, members being splitters into two instances, a member leaving causing LFG function to bug, etc.

Well, I’m sure it’s all subjective, but I’d say it should be something like

Dungeon progression blocked -> Bugs making encounters harder/impossible until reset -> Graphical/audible bugs -> Rest

(although I have to add that LFG Merging should be in the Dungeon progression blocked category).

Howdy all,

Lilith asked me to take a look at the thread to see if I had any guidance and whatnot. Obviously, I cannot confirm or speculate on anything in the post. What I can do, is hopefully help direct the discussions.

Bugs – The best thing to do when you know something is bugged is to put it in the Bug Forum, following this format: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Please-Read-How-To-Bugging-Best-Practices

When the bugs are reported, we can direct QA to the threads in question. They may or may not respond to these reports, but it does ensure they’re put into the bug tracker system.

Regarding exploits, the best thing to do is write it up and email exploits@arena.net for any you wish to report. These are also logged.

Now, in regards to people exploiting bugs or systems, it’s best to report them in-game or submit a ticket to Support for review.

I guess the reason I thought this would be good is because some things seem to get lost in the wind. I can almost guarantee that all of these items on this list have been reported, have been posted in the bug forum, etc. But some of these things have existed in the game since release (like the dungeon rune thing) multiple reports, and nothing for over 500 days.

If this thread is not going to be helpful, however, that’s fine. Do you think it would be better to actually move this, or open a new one to the bug forum?

Some of the Priest/Priestesses can be pushed into their altar stones, which bugs them and prevents them from attacking. Depending on where they are pushed etc., they can be bugged for the entire fight or partially. Balthazar and Lyssa are ones I can confirm.
Simin, Risen Priestess Of Dwayna has a bug and exploit. The exploit allows you to completely skip the 2nd phase where she stealths and you have to kite the sparks to the middle. If the devs (or Lilith for submitting to devs) need to know the specifics they should pm me. Also, a common bug is the sparks spawning during any of her phase 2 burn phases, allowing the team to burn her down without having to kite sparks if they have enough DPS to do so.

Definatley is Not a bug and/or exploit.

This is an intended behavior of the NPC when players fail to understand the mechanic they are trying to use. When I do it under a certain set of circumstances, he behaves as most players want him too. There is a multitude of reasons why it doesnt work sometimes and there is definatly more than 1 working way but there are many wrong ways also, especially when people dont understand why he teleports.

Its similar to how in COE P1, when you bring Spire to the room where you choose whether the Inquest live or die (The alpha room right before Bjarl), she dies in the golem room sometimes but will “Tele res” to the team if you go to a certain spot (A la same basic concept as CoF)

Also in p1, when you start the burrow room for Hodkings, he can die on the stairs in the traps. Again, if you goto a certain spot he tele resses, or the team can mope around not listening and he wont and you have to manually get him.

Similar circumstances, modifided to fit the challenge. But yea, Magg can be done the same thing and when its done right, he wont bug.
