Looking for CoF1 speed farm mentor

Get your mesmer fully zerked out before you try to speed farm this(or you will most likely be kicked). You could just join a regular group that is farming it with no requirements, to get an idea & some extra gold for your equipment.
The only thing you really have to do, is push the targets by the turrets to the right turret. Lay your teleport down at the gate for bolders, when it opens run as fast as you can before bolders appear, and blink to the other side. Don’t lay down Time Warp on the last boss till banners & everyone is in it, fairly easy ^ ^.
Just play warrior, go where others go and spam skill 1. Congratz on you first successfull CoF run.
I suggest you watch some youtube videos to know what to do as a mesmer. Also don’t join those elitist group yet just go with regular ones to get used to things.
Haven’t seen the key things that separate a good CoF mesmer from a bad CoF mesmer. There’s a lot more than just putting down TW.
For one, you should not be using blink. You can portal w/o blink by just running in with swiftness. Second, you swap our portal for Double Clone summon at Slave Driver so you can use Sword 3 + Double Clone Summon to have 3 Clones up stacking vuln. on Slave Driver. Timing on TW on effigy and Feedback is very important. And there’s still a lot of things to mention, but here’s the biggest part: You are supposed to gate.
I think I have the turret pull down, and the boulders. Gonna try the 2clones + s3. Could you elaborate on that last bit? And tw feedback during effigy?
Looking at some posts on gw2lfg.com, some people don’t care so much about gear. So I was hoping that I could get into those kinds of groups before I get full berz. I want to do this farm because it seems the easiest way to get full berz gear fast. I think knowing how to save 20 sec here and there would make up for the decreased DPS from the mesmer. And tbh, mesmer is not there for the DPS really, he’s there for the TW and portals.
Having done a lot of elite farming in GW1, I know just about anyone can farm elite areas with success, however it is the small things that put you above the crowd that I would like to learn. IE: exact timing of feedback, locations of portals, when and where to be moving during the acolyte fight, and what Phira said about using clones for vulnerability. The video I watched was of someone doing a very precise speed run. I prefer that kind of run over the half kitten run where people are running about doing their own thing and wasting 2-3 minutes, much like Dub’s runs probably turn out to be (using only one ability, pft).

TW timing has to do with the fact that Effigy cures all condition after its fire aoe meaning you should tell the Warriors to save On my mark for after the fire aoe and throw down Time Warp 1 sec after fire aoe goes off. Feedback has to do with that you can block the boss’s knockdown where it throws one arm down and it’ll take about 7% of its hp pool.
Gating is harder to explain but it doesn’t matter if one of your warrior isn’t taking a longbow for comboes to increase Might Stacks.

Good tips, thanks Phira! I don’t even know what gating is :P
Would be nice to have a group to run with so I could put these things into practice, and not be chastised when I mess some stuff up. But if I can’t find a group willing to bring a noobie, I suppose I could just grief some people in a pug.

i have ran CoF as both a mesmer and warrior. here is some tricks i have learned
Mesmer: wepons sword, focus, greatsword utilitys feed back, twin images, signate of insporation, blink, portal
have before slave driver signat of insporation, twinimages, blink. set yourself up for might shatter then pop signate. on driver use a focus pull to the wall (this isll pull slave driver from wherever he is) pop TW then use sword skill 2 delay 1seond pop skill 2 for leap. spam skill 1 use twin images shatter. use feedback when boss is at 25% health. boss dead. running to acolts room. grab banner pop swiftness keep running with grop about midway to bride use blink then F4 for destortion. run all way to lower cornnor. go up with GS hit skill 4 on acolts help kill run back to lower room for agro break. on fire balls its easy when you hear lets o from the NPC hit your Portal put up focus skill 4 run throw blink if you need to. then on brazer room run to the farthest brazer in that room focus pull gs skill 5 (push) sword skill 2 for evade then run to boss room. at boss wate for all party members to be there then pop TW hit gs skill 2 and 4 swich to sword skill 2 hit F1 shatter emediatly hit 2 for leap= chaos armor dodge attacks hit skill 2 for evades keep popin clones and hitting F1 or F2 boss dead.
Warrior: Weapons Ax, sheild, greatsword utilitys banner, For Great justace, shake it off, stadystance, frenzy
on door hit it to build adrinline. run to first turrent hit F1 damage and for great justace. then use 100b at end of 100b hit skill 3 go to other turrent kill rest if needed. run to driver put banner right at or loss to area of boss. procede with 100b to skill 3 aim for wall. then flip to F1 Ax. then use sheld skill 4 while Time warp is up= Chaos armor. swap to Gs skill 2 then skill 3 boss shoulb be dead if not and Time warp is down use Frenzy. on run equip balance stance when frenzy is done recharging. use sheld if you get into a sticky sutuation. help kill acolts on brazer if you take on swich youll need to have all warriors use For great justace equipt frenzy balance stance. when door opens gs skill 5 rush use frenzy then 100b to skill 3 wepon swap F1 Ax tripple chop swap 100b swich done run to boss with party repeat steps taken from slave driver done.
but if you read this hole post awesome lol. but its better to just wach a youtube video and run with guildmates once your good at it you can run with vets.
Just keep practicing in regular groups until you get full zerk. Once you have full zerk you should have the run memorized pretty well. Do like Phira says, you don’t need blink even though most mesmers are using it.
Once you start the speed runs, have a tough skin. There are tons of cool people that are happy with 6-7 min runs. Not everyone is some jerk elitist, they just want guaranteed very fast runs. But there are also groups that demand everything be done perfect, and you will get booted for repeated mess ups, not using feedback, badly timed TW etc. Just hop right back in with another group and do better.
I play warrior, so my job is easy. Most of the real work is rested on the mesmer. Trust me, very few of the people doing these runs are pro, myself included. It’s a very quick easy run. But the correct skills with correct timing will make the difference for marathon sessions, and your group will respect you for it.
