Hi. I played my first dungeon yesterday, which was quite surprising after playing WOW dungeons for several years. My first impression was that i died a lot.. Because every player can heal and revive it wasn’t that bad.. but I had to run a lot from the waypoints as well. First I though it was too hard, but somehow I think I can live with it. But the first dungeon (AC 30 story mode) could be a little more doable

What was hard was to get a group, and that is now when there is a lot of people outside the entrance. What will happen when there isnt? It felt like vanilla wow, where you had to ask friends and people around to join. You have to add a LFG service. I want to be able to run around questing while waiting for my group to gather. Please consider this! Its on the top of my wishlist!

Another thing is the degrading of char level in zones/dungeons. I think its really good in someways.. it means that its fun to play lower level zones and I read your comments on it too and totally agree on them.. so please don’t do anything about that! But I want to feel powerful aswell.. Its quite fun running low-level dungeons as an 85 in wow and just smash 10-20 mobs in one hit So please consider some place I can do that.

Apart from this you have created an absolutely lovely game! This is the first game that have drawn me away from wow in 7 years! I will play wow more, but since the release of gw2 i havent

I agree with that. Decent LFG tool should be one of top priorities for ANet. Also properly fixing cross server play should help, for now it’s still buggy and makes searching for groups in overflows pointless.

Problem here is that dungens are pretty hard. Lots of people get discouraged and just give up on them. I’m personaly fine with them so far (though I haven’t done that many yet), but it’s making getting group for anything other than AC story mode take a looooong time.

You think the forum crying about dungeons being too hard is bad now? just wait until you get groups of people who have never spoken or played together before.

Dungeons here ARE too hard for wow type pugging.
Dungeons do not serve the same purpose here as they do in wow.
Dungeons are to GW2 what 20 man raids are to WoW.
Get it now?

I agree, a decent LFG system definitly needs to be implemented.

LFG would be great. And feeling powerful by running low level dungeons? Lame. The whole down level thing is genius.

LFG needs to happen soon.
Keep the difficulty where it is, and do NOT attach rewards to LFG (*like wow did).

But LFG needs to happen, sitting in zone (or LA) spamming LFG in chat is boring as hell and does not promote community. Its swtor all over again.
Learn from WoW and Rift and Swtor, LFG is not only wanted by players, its overwhelmingly demanded by them.

Seem to spend most of my time in game standing around typing LFG in chat, having to rewrite it every 10mins because the spam filter has kicked in after just 3 messages.

im tired of spamming LFG/LFM when i want to do a dungeon and not being able to go play the game…
I am stuck in one place until I find a group, which takes anywhere from 30mins and up…
Auto Group Finder would be sweet so i can go play the game while the game finds a group for me!
I dont care if it doesnt port the group since we already have waypoints to port with…
i dont care if its cross-server since we already play with ppl cross-server…
the part that i care about is being able to go play the game WHILE i am LFG/LFM, and I cant do that right now…
so please, anet, add an Auto Group Finder for dungeons please? Thanks!
oh, and for you social community ppl, i have a guild and that is where my social community is, not in random PUG dungeon runs…

Also think a LFG system might be in its place, just not the “WoW” type when you press a button and get ported to a dungeon with random people, rather see the “Aion” type, at least how it was when I played it no idea how it is today. But there you created a group, and were able to post the group in a wide chat where everyone could see it, they could click the link in the chat, or go in to the LFG tool and look which groups were forming and for what purpose, then they were able to apply to the group, once a person applied you as group leader gets a message that this class, this level, this spec wants to join your group, and you can press Accept or Decline.

I to miss the LFG panel that was in GW1.

+1 on bringing something like that back.

I can kind of see why it’s not there – letting anyone bring a person into the party makes it much easier then in GW1 to get a group going, and as it is right now you generally only have to shout once or twice to find people who what to do the same Dungeon as you. But in time it would be nice to have something like what we had in GW1 to get people together for whatever type of run they might want to do. I would say there are much bigger things that need to be tackled in the game right now.

LFG option already exists.Don’t ask me why people don’t use it.It’s in friend list window.
GW2 has a system the problem is that people DON’T use it.

I’ve almost 200h on my Warrior. I have gained like 40-50 levels after level 80. I’m 400 in both my crafts. I have 90% WC, I completed my personal story, I play WvW, sPvP, everything….. BUT I only done a dungeon ONCE and that was because I had to in order to complete my personal story.

I really want to do Dungeons, REALLY, BUT… the way Dungeons work now it’s just not worth it IMO. I don’t want to spend 30 minutes to organize a party. The only time I joined a party to finish my personal story I had to wait like 20 minutes because a guy was finishing something and we all had to wait for him. I hate this. My experience with MMOs, organizing PUGs is really a bad experience most of the times.

I wish there was a mechanism where I could just “Click to play”. I choose a dungeon and I’m automatically grouped and transferred to that dungeon with other players. That simple! And even with this it will always be group issues once inside the dungeon but that is another problem that is not easy to resolve with any tool.

Unfortunately a lot of people came here with the impression that this was a casual game, instead the dungeons are for some reason for the snobby hardcore elitist jerks. I swear there are such a small amount of these guys, and they spend most of their time waiting for these forums to pop up so they can be jerks to people who just want to have fun. Sorry jerks, but we don’t want to have a 2nd job of spamming for people, also we want to have fun. Not put up with your attitudes, thanks, shut up and go away.

I’ll sign the petition for LFG and lowering the so called “difficulty” of oneshotting dungeons.

Other than guildmates who ive shown it to, I think ive seen what 3 people using the lfg tool. I make it a point to immediately team with said people for whatever they are doing I dont care.

Then I send them a link to threads like these and we lol.

That being said the tool can be improved on.

God forbid you actually have to type something to someone all by yourself. scoff

I don’t mind typing to people myself, it’s rather blind not to admit it be a big help in finding people as you are only able to communicate with people in the current zone/world you are on, a tool like this would make it possible to reach a much larger number. And do have in mind that I am not advocating a system like the automated one in WoW, just a possibility to post your group, or your preferences when you are looking for a group.

Please don’t do this.

What follows a LFG tool is a dumbing down of content so everyone and their mentally deficient pet hamster can do it with relative ease and very little effort.

I’ve yet to be in a group that was full of people so bad that we could not finish a story mode dungeon.

It’d be okay to have a chat tab for LFG, but an automated grouping system is not a good idea. Chatting before can help you differentiate between bad and good players (or at least the stuck-up things have to be the way I want ones), and helps you making contacts for future runs, and maybe a new guild. Automatize this and it’ll be click → do dungeon → never see each other faces. Saying LFG doesn’t hurt.
And you can do whatever you want while you wait for group members. If you are on the same map, you get ported inside when someone enters.

I dont see what the problem is of GOING to the zone and doing something there to find a group. I see plenty of people in those zones looking for more people to do things when im alting or in the zone collecting mats to sell.

LFG tools have been perverted from what they are unto some kind of monster that find groups for you and ports you to dungeons. Creating an interface where people who want to get groups would be the best way to over come this. In order to build the server communities talking to people should still be encouraged for PuG
