Lupicus Melee Solo, 8.5 mins
As a Necromancer, I can roll out of Lupicus’ bubble — with and without my roll trait — 100 percent of the time. The problem for most people is they try to roll out when they’re standing in the middle. Like every single wall ability in the game, they should be standing close to the edge before rolling. That way the roll’s immunity period lasts while their characters are crossing the wall, not bumping into it as the roll begins or ends.
well, as a guardian i have done that fight quite a few times and i can tell you i havent been able to just roll out of that bubble. ever.
i have to hit stability shout before i roll or tough it out.
EDIT: No longer applies.

By the way, my graph applies to all walls in the game. It’s how I thought players are supposed to counter Guardian walls.
It was quite painful to solo without necessary traits but I guess I have to run it again to test more.
New enemies at path 3 preventing me to solo it, eww.
That seems to be the issue at hand – is that wreckless dodge is cancelling out the behavior intended for the bubble.
And based on this, dodging out seems like not intended behavior (if not, why Reckless Dodge would be a issue).

Here are my attempts without Reckless Dodge.

I’m open for suggestions.
keep reckless dodge on? besides that i know i can dodge out of the bubble if i can get over to the edge of the bubble then dodge out. Any sooner and the dodge will not get though, but i think that is a bug since that is how i get though guardian things, yes it slows me down for a second but hey it wont stop me atleast.
I cant solo lupi like you with my necro, and i highly doubt I ever will since they seem on killing my class somehow, but that is how i get out of his bubble when i get stuck inside it.

So necros have better dodges than everyone else?

Nope, you just have to be at the edge of the bubble or guardian ring of ward, or the line skill then roll though them to get out or though it. When i said slow me down, i mean i would stop for that very brief second so i am on the edge so i can roll out/though it.
O just noticed, Lopez posted a picture of how to roll out a few posts above this.

I’d like to have official statement as to what is intended when it comes to bubbles. Is dodging out while it’s been casted intended or not? Is dodging out when it’s not been casted yet (by watching lupi hands) intended or not?

Well, that just confirms that necros have better dodges!

no, dodging out of bubbles – any bubbles, be it lupi’s or guardian’s hammer – is not intended to happen without using stability traits/shouts/skills/etc.
that’s what this whole discussion has been about

Did you read to the end what I wrote? You can dodge out from ring of warding before it’s been casted (by watching animations). The question is, should that be the case with lupi’s necrid trap.
I was wrong. I just got hit by the bubble for the first time since the latest patch, and I could not roll out of it. I actually got hit on it by purpose to see if it was still possible. Either they changed something last patch or my husband and I were getting really lucky rolling out of it for all the runs it took us to get our Arah sets.
Sorry if I misled anyone. I’m taking down my graph to make sure no one else is misled.

That is odd, since it was how i dodged out of it my arah runs, get close to the edge and roll though. I wonder when they fixed that.

Necros can still dodge out, just tried with one.
I couldn’t just now in four roll attempts. Really weird because I swear I did it yesterday, and I know I did it for all my runs to get my full set.
It could sometimes bug, I suppose. In that case, I got pretty unlucky.

maybe its just a bad day for you lopez.
Could be! It could be the case that it bugs sometimes. I could have just gotten unlucky with a bug for two bubbles in a row.
Good thing Necromancers have Death Shroud. I wonder how squishier classes and builds are supposed to deal with the bubble if it’s not supposed to be possible to roll out of it.
I dont try to rely on DS to take the hits while in the bubble, i go into ds if i can then get to edge and roll out then toggle ds off to save that life force. If i cant go into ds i still try to get to the edge and try to roll out. It can be a complete pain in the rear to get lifeforce on some boss fights and even more so depending on the build you have.
Edit:
Some boss fights ds can be depleted in 1 hit if you had to use it to soak a hit. Alpha’s aoes for me most times during his fights, and lupi during phase 2 can easily eat your entire lifeforce bar. Once that is gone depending on your build and skills it might not ever fill up over 25% again the entire fight since you might be like me and used DS to eat a boss attack.

One fact: Reckless Dodge allows me also dodge petrify on Simin.

I can confirm this.
Dodge Traits seem to interact with evading Simin’s Petrify.
I am able to avoid being petrified with my Ele and evasive aracana traited. I was not able to evade the petrify on my necro (did not have mark of evasion traited so not sure how that interacts with it).
Some further information i gathered while testing petrifys behaviour:
stability:
necros lich form aswell as traited stability on deathshroud allowed me to avoid being petrified.
invulnerability:
mist form aswell as the 5 earth skill on focus (obsidian flesh) allowed me on my ele to avoid being petrified.
you can enter ds while petrified and even use life blast, dark path and fear. Dark path will port you to your target, however, you will remain petrified (as in you cant move).
Why should “Reckless Dodge” allow you to exit the bubble when the trait is just supposed to add some damage at end of roll?
That seems to be the issue at hand – is that wreckless dodge is cancelling out the behavior intended for the bubble.
Any dodge can get out of the bubble.

Em, no. Depending what’s your proffesion (and what traits you have).
Not worthy enough for a topic so CM2 end-boss solo (soloed whole path too but not shown on video, soloing thrash, who really wants to watch that?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHWx5_5lElQ

Got to phase 2 on my ele solo on Lupi today. I cant retain the mitigation to live against lupi and burst down the last grug.
Jade Quarry – Team Savvy – #1 NA WvW Solo Guild
Solo Grawl Fractal boss on difficulty 20+. You got this, bro!
Actually would work without the bubble. Tried it with my thief at lv10, not that much of a problem. But up to 40 stacks on the bubble are to much for 1 person.
Stoped trying after 2 resets, couldn’t even get close to break the bubble.
