Lvl 80
Because level 80s have more Trait Points, more skills unlocked and presumably more experience with their character than sub-80s.
If you were organizing a PUG and had to decide between two strangers that you know nothing about, wouldn’t you take the character with the best chance to make your group succeed?
Not to say that sub 80s can’t do Explorable Modes, they certainly can, but anytime I make a PUG, I automtically assume the randoms I pick up are terrible. Why take someone with inferior stats, traits and skill choices as well? It’s also why I refuse to PUG in MMOs.
Between my experiences in WoW and SWTOR I have no faith at all in the average MMO player. Compound that with the fact that dungeons in this game are much harder than in WoW or SWTOR and you see why sub 80s are passed over.
I played Explorable Mode with a lvl 80 warior with the traits in the ‘right’ place and he kept on dying even more than me and I was 30 lvl behind him a stood my ground so lvl isn’t all
I never said level was everything. I said if I had to pick between two strangers who I know nothing about, I’m taking the higher level one because they have more traits, more skills available, and presumably more experience on their charchter.
That’s why sub 80s get passed over, it should only happen in PUGs. Guild groups or groups of friends know better. PUGs are generally terrible in every MMO since the history of ever, which is why I refuse to do them. I’d rather not do a dungeon at all than PUG one.
Find a guild or group of friends to play with and your problem will disappear.

Your right but I simply ain’t ready for comitment yet XD.
I do wish there was a way to prevent such things, like a random mixer for the most balanced team
Two things:
Tons of groups allow people under 80.
Start your own group.
That will fix the problem.
For example: I have never seen you problem and run with anyone of Min level+ of the specific explore (I am 80). The difference is I am always starting a group rather than looking for a group.
I honestly have never had a problem as long as you met the level requirement. We’ve all been there before.
The only thing that will get you kicked out of our group is not listening.
I don’t group with people who say things like “Lvl 80 only” or other bs things like that. I did AC exp with a full group of 35-40 and we all did just fine. As a lvl 80 i’ve been with groups of full 80’s in AC exp and we have done far worse than some of the groups I was in at a lower level.
I was in a pug group grinding some asc tears and I invited a lvl 37 who I knew personally who was playing on his alt. He was immediately vote kicked by two of the other group. When I asked them why they did it they replied “no noobs” and so I left the group pretty much then and there.
You’re right to be a little jacked off about all of this but ultimately it is avoidable. Try guild grouping or try starting groups yourself and picking people instead of having them pick you.
i’ve literally had no problems joining any exp mode run so far on my alt. the only explorables i have yet to run(because i am too low) are lvl 70+.
Some people are just ignorant sometimes, I was on my lv40 alt that had a full set of TA armor and AC weps transmuted, trying to pug AC, got kicked, pm’d them and they said they wanted experienced people. Not to mention to even go to vote kick me from the party they’d mouse over my name and see 2,600+ achievement points.
