Anet said something about double the cap or at least put cap for fails but guarantee always Magnetite Shard If you kill the boss? (at least for each different boss weekly)

I’m pretty new in raids but I’m having a lot of fun killing bosses but I find this cap really bad to involve always more people during the entire week to do raids.

It’s a big limitation, I’m really sure we can get a compromise here.

I don’t remember them ever saying they would increase the cap. But I agree it needs to be increased.

If this were implemented then the best way to get shards would be to wipe until you hit the cap and then kill the bosses to exceed the cap by as much as possible.

I agree that it would be nice to have raid rewards be less based on luck (I know people with ~90 insights and only a few ascended drops), but I don’t think raising the cap would be a good idea unless other changes were made at the same time. The drop chance from bosses is actually pretty good on average, so for most people a cap increase is just even more “free” ascended gear or gold (via selling infusions I guess?). If the rewards were of a similar average level but less based on chance I don’t think anyone would complain.

You could accomplish this by severely reducing the boss drops but increasing the magnetite cap so that magnetite is the main reward. I like the idea of boss drops being the main source of rewards though. There are plenty of other ways the reward system could be changed, but in general I think that reducing the randomness of rewards is a better way to go about it than just increasing rewards overall.

Yeah I agree, for me best improvement would be:

You got a weekly cap for fails but if you kill every boss once during the week you get the full magnetite reward.

This means if you kill for example VG twice during the week, you get full magnetite rewards only once but you can kill every single boss and get the full magnetite reward from each one. Basically this quantity is separated from the “fails cap”.

I think is a good compromise.

In this way you avoid the total farming and you have more satisfaction (in terms of rewards) cleaning every wing.

Yes, I also don’t understand why we don’t get cap per boss which would be filled up by killing the boss once. It only makes sense. Out of 14 bosses I killed, I got only one ascended heavy viper leggins (for which there is no use currently) and 3 minis. My friends always get those unique ascended thingies and can save up their shards for the future

I do raids a LOT and many times I complete w1 &w2 on Monday so basically for the rest of the week if I kill some bosses I get only a bunch of bags like reward

It happens I help People to complete their runs but the feeling you have when you kill the boss and i get only some champion bags is pretty terrible.
