Make boon hate work against bosses.

Interesting, but if you think about it, that just allows for groups to be further picky about the professions they bring on, some classes can’t steal boons without the weapon sigil, I doubt this would be a good move.

Yeah… god forbid people actually want to play strategically rather than just running into a dungeon with 5 people and button mashing. What kind of game would this be if people were picky who they ran with..
If you just want to cut the health of all dungeon bosses, just do that. (50% health + protection is still just 75% of their earlier effective health, and that’s ignoring how conditions can take advantage of the situation.)
As it is, a lot of dungeon bosses do use boons. Adding protection to them all uniformly would just be making bosses less distinct from one another.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
Wouldn’t that just make the 4war/1mes parties even more prominent… I mean, warriors and thieves are the ones that get boon hate buff this patch.
In terms of diversity Necromancers and Mesmers are also able to strip boons, but especially the last one has a boon stripping attack on their sword auto attack chain (so it’s for free). Why should anyone use somethin else than a Mesmer to get rid of boons? I mean Mesmers are already a T1 class for dungeons.
Another issue with that is the skill Arcane Thievery that we mesmer can use.
This, in combo with Signet of Inspiration will make it possible for us to steal and share the buffs the boss uses, which no other class can.

At least, thieves have something similar to the Mesmers “Arcane Thievery” + “Signet of Inspiration” combo – it’s called “Bountiful Theft” and is a major trait in the Trickery line.
