Manners in Dungeon Running with PUGs
I tried to be as polite and modest, yet it seems like I’m doing it wrong.
So you leave the party without announcing it and you call that polite? It’s nothing wrong to leave a party in the middle of a dungeon run, if you have any kind of trouble, but announce it first!

Were you by any chance the instance owner (Person that enters dungeon first), if so you probably kicked everyone out of the dungeon by doing that. In that case I think it’s understandable you got called names even though it’s not your fault for not knowing.
The way you make it sound it seems that you didn’t tell them you were leaving? If so that’s actually pretty rude.
Also if I’m correct, 5 people are needed to finish the dungeon after the acolytes. So with one man short they had to take some time to find someone else.
I’m also hoping this wasn’t a speed run.

I actually typed a message about the reason I’m leaving though…
kitten happens.
His “noob” description probably isn’t literal. Just a means to show his displeasure. Just like how you are posting this incident on this forum. Doesn’t mean he is right though.
I’m pretty understanding of internet issues. I would generally prefer to stick it out with a guy who’s got a rough connection but has worked with the group so far than to have to fill a spot part way through the dungeon. I hate to see someone not get rewards they’ve worked towards.
When running fractals or other dungeons, a lot of the groups I’ve been in have waited while someone relogs / reboots in an attempt to clear those kinds of problems. But if you need that kind of opportunity, it’s always best to ask the group, maybe offer up to leave if the group would prefer to replace you.
Of course, if the problem is making your game play so frustrating that you’d rather not deal with it and would prefer to leave, that’s something to make sure the group understands.
And if you’re the instance owner…. ouch man, that’s rough for the group, but kitten happens.
Not to seem critical of having a financial motivation for running dungeons, because that in and of itself is perfectly fine.
But, CoF Path 1 has gotten a bit of a reputation for being the ‘farming’ path, as I’m sure you’re somewhat aware. Despite the fact it’s really, really, easy; alot of people who go there are really, really stressed. It’s kind of counter-intuitive, that people would be so wound-up over the easiest content as opposed to the hardest, but it is what it is.
I imagine once this ‘scavenger hunt’ for legendary weapons is finally introduced, some of that vibrating in place is going to bleed out into the open world as opposed to being concentrated in a single path. But, for now, just be aware of what you’re getting into.

I assume this happened on NA server. Some people do that, there’s nothing you can do about it. Also, only a certain type of players will do cof p1, and I suggest to everyone with a little bit of brain to stay away from those kind of people.
If you really want to do cof p1: simply make your own team. Put an add on gw2lfg.com and you’ll have a party ready within 5 minutes.
You’re welcome.
