I see a lot of post complaining about dungeons being to hard, the update made it worthless to continue, the cost of repairs are too high, … ect.. ect ..

I’m still trying to understand the mechanics behind a group and entering a dungeon.

I know a lead person can target an enemy NPC and the rest of the group can focus fire …
but is a tank needed to support the group for this mechanic .

I’ve checked the wiki and read about support classes.

If someone can enlighten me, as well as others, on the tactics to be used when running a dungeon.

thanks.

Take my advice don’t bother trying it until Anet fix the problem with dungeon… you will be in for major disappointment that might affect your guild wars 2 journey… or gaming.

i used both my evade and even the some evade skill part of my fire elementalist to avoid attack that are dangerous… but to be slash normally 3 time and got into my down state… its funny… what even more funny is that its not an elite that does it.

There is this part of the dungeon where they are supposely be only 3 boss mobs… when i say boss.. because their health is more than normally… in the youtube video i check there is only 3 … personally think it could be handle… but unlike the video it seem there is now 7 not 3 lol… 5 players scaled at 40, with Logan and Zoija… you cant crowd control 7 boss and try to target one… being boss they can easily one hit kill lol not that the other lower level mobs cant one hit u either.

Depends on your group composition and profession really, for example, if you want to play thief with support focus it makes you automatically more durable than a ‘normal’ damage focused medium armor spec. You can easily spec in a way that makes the thieves 1st healing skill double as condition removal and party buff in addition to the base heal for yourself for example.

Though, everyone should try to be durable enough not to die if they mess up once… oneshot mechanics can sometimes make this impossible but most of those have pattern or telegraph, that you just need to figure out. Unless you are really good with dodge and have high endurance regen, through boons or traits, do not build glass cannon.

The aggro is kinda random, so while you can build durable character… or even focus in survivability, you can’t really be certain that such focused effort on your part would benefit your group in any way.

Right now many people focus on DPS builds for that damage output but there are little info of how these build should be used in GW2 which result in the current issue with people constantly dieing from whatever they have problems with GW2 gameplay.

DPS so far is best for people who use range attacks but it seems a lot of melee is using High Damage/Precision that they ignore having high toughness which is a essential stat to have when your character it built to be a melee character.

DPS is best for range attackers because most of the time you’re not being the person going head on right to the mob of enemies or fighting the elites head on in the dungeon but the person running around in circles dodging attacks and leaving the melees to deal with the enemies.

going full dps is the answer to the sheer insane high amount of hp every single dungeon mob is sprouting, you wont actually live long enough do deal that much damage if you miss a dodge, but i understand the mentality behind it.
that or people just want to melt faces :p
