Can a solo mesmer do enough damage to Brie in Arah p2 before the 10x damage expires?

As I understand it, phantasms don’t get the buff (WTF, by the way — did they not learn anything from not giving agony resistance to pets in GW1?).

I found a 6 months old video quickly browsing the web, it sounds doable even with the ferocity nerf. The person in the video was using 4 mantras 6/6/0/0/2, mostly auto attacking with sword. I don’t know how reliable that method is, though, as I pretty much never solo anything with a mesmer.

Even if you cant do enough damage you can semi exploit it. If you get downed it wont teleport you out of the arena. So you can rally on a grub and continue the fight.

Would it be possible to:

1) Leave an illusion to keep the boss in combat
2) Drop a portal before the terminal dies
3) Get ported out
4) Portal back in and finish Brie

I don’t mesmer much, so I’m not sure, but it seems like it should work.

I think Sandy did this solo several months ago. I was there when he was experimenting with the portal trick, but unless I remember incorrectly, he didn’t succeed with it. The only reliable way that I know of is to do the defense event.

6/6/0/0/2 and 4x mantra. Slot in Mental Torment in place of Signet Mastery. As you’re running in – swordsman / warden / illu leap + weapon swap to cancel the aftercast / tw / mantra of distraction / auto attack. When you’re nearing the 50% mark, spam mantra of pain/distraction and shatter. This should get her past 50% pretty reliably.

For this specific encounter I’d even go and use the seaweed salad for extra 10% dmg since phantasms are useless here anyways. This encounter, when solo, you really do have to push mesmer to the limit to kill her. Even on my necro I had easier time doing the 50%.

You think this will work after the specializations update (I don’t think I’ll be logging in again until after the update)? -300 power seems like an over 10% damage nerf .. quite a lot.

It’s not a 300 power nerf. 74 of the missing stats is being made baseline raising all base stats from 926 to 1000. The remaining stats are being put into your armour, so berserker armour will have increased base pow/prec/fero, your armour/weps will have biggers numbers on them.

Mesmer minor in first line is a 0.5% dmg modifier per stack of vuln (vuln is 50% more effective basically)
