I’ve been wanting to get into raids as a weekly thing in GW2 for a while now but haven’t had the time or community to do so. But now that I’m settled in my career, I can start to schedule myself to be able to raid during the week.

I know the combat mechanics and have raided for years in WoW. But I’m tired of that boring combat system and am looking for GW2 (as my main and most loved game) to give me that sense of progression week to week.

Can anyone point me in the direction of an NA guild that will accept someone who has tried several fights but never made progress in raiding related to lack of a dedicated team?

Before you even look at that list:
Gear at least 2 roles in full ascended and practice those roles. Being able to multi class improves your odds of raid success by a lot.

Forget EVERYTHING you ever did raiding in WOW, this game is nothing like it. You take in a class based on what folks call the “meta”, and that’s based off what you can bring to the raid group, not so much what can do. DPS isn’t just damage, you need to help in some way be it banners as War, GotL as Druid, etc…..
There is no aggro system like WOW, its based off the highest toughness and no damage mitigation and such with your abilities.
The list goes on but basically you are your own healer as well, with some support coming from other classes but no “dedicated” healer either. Everyone has to step up, no standing back getting carried, Bosses have to many mechanics and such for that.
So yea, try and watch some videos to get a feel for how the fights go, not so much the boss fight but how the team works. Then dip in your big toe and have fun!!!
