Hello everyone

I was kind of bored when I got on and decided to take on a different kind of challenge from what I’m used to, to solo Arah P3 but no armor or back piece (I left on trinkets, I just took off basically everything that needs repairing after you die). I was able to do it and I have the clips here to show how.

It took about 1 hour 45 mins.

It didn’t actually take the full 2 hours; the last bit of the video is just me killing the 3 champion giants for gigs. Also quite a bit of time was wasted from standing around/offscreening to reply to people on stream (I play fullscreen on my laptop so I can’t see chat unless I alt-tab) and also at the end when I was waiting for people to join (I always give Arah P2 and P3 out for free when I solo them). Not sure on this but I think I wiped 7 times lol.

Hardest part was definitely mage crusher because I had like 700 ping spikes in some places and it was really hard to time dodges like that… especially since his regular attacks aren’t really telegraphed. I enjoyed the challenge but I hated having to keep killing the risen hands until they respawned elsewhere… terrible RNG luck.

Overall I could have done everything in the path much better but I wanted to play it safe so that I wouldn’t have to redo mage crusher/wraithlord, so I used mace mainhand for those.

Sad to say, but I wiped on crusher/hunter twice due to lagging out in the middle of the fight and being unable to evade in time… worst part is I didn’t fight them together for once due to the no armor thing lol

I redeemed myself by soloing Lupicus first try though I think I left all DPS utilities except I used dolyak signet instead of signet of fury. I think it was a good choice because you don’t die in 1 hit from everything on phase 3 so the reduced damage was helpful for this circumstance… or well, it could be helpful if I screwed up a lot more. Maybe next time I’ll leave signet of fury on.

So, breakdown of parts to make it easier for you to look for things in the path:

0:00:00 to 0:02:43 – Entering instance and getting stacks, path starts at 2:43
0:36:15 to 0:42:39 – Crusher, then Hunter kill
1:09:40 to 1:22:30 – Mage crusher kill
1:29:20 to 1:41:30 – Lupicus kill
1:43:45 to 1:46:55 – Ritual
1:51:20 to 1:58:50 – Wraithlord boss kill and path end
1:58:51 to 2:09:50 – goofing around killing the Champion giants

Also I will highlight the Lupicus solo and Wraithlord boss solo since those are usually more fun to see.

Dub’s naked Lupicus solo with no UI is still way cooler than mine is though!

P.S.: I have no problems watching a nekkid male though. It would be cooler that way :P

Haha nope it was requested by a friend of mine when I asked for suggestions on what I should do =P

I very much like to try to challenge myself to do things like soloing bosses when I play games. I used to do this on RS when I played too and I remember doing a “no armor solo warped large 5:5 with 4 maxed leeches” once and my god that took a while. I know this will probably make no sense to you or anybody else without having done dungeoneering on that game but yeah.

Real proof that you can have the gear but if your traits are not optimal you are really nerfing your own potential. Makes me think we ought to do mossman/bloomhunger naked when pugging fractals as the ultimate “gear check”.

So does recording the run mess with your game at all? Like does it increase the potential lag?

I don’t understand if the game lacks content instead of doing such boring stuff why you just don’t play other games?

You’re right, traits are the most important between the two but the very most important things are the weapon choices and utilities. I’m not sure if I can solo CoE because for subject alpha you have to rally off of the tendrils.

I hate linksville… my sub-5 korga solo record was moved to it back when I posted it

Uhm, the only time recording makes me lag more is if my memory usage hits or gets too close to 100%. I’m only on 4 gigs of RAM (#laptopproblems), so considering the OS and all the miscellaneous processes running in the background typically take up around 70% of that memory, when I run my music player and OBS (I record and livestream with OBS) along with chrome to be on twitch chat, it’s usually between 80-90% memory usage. If gw2 starts using more memory than it normally should it’s usually fixed by simply restarting it lol.

It might sound strange but I not only play on a laptop (wireless connection rofl) but am able to stream on it too… and I play on Desolation (EU) even though my timezone is US Midwest. :P

Hahaha that certain person isn’t going to upload it because he isn’t happy with it. He has a p4 full solo he will upload though :P (he isn’t happy with that either he had delay lag most the time.. at one point his skills wouldn’t even activate at grenth)

and @ProtoGunner in terms of “bang for your buck” (LOL please no infraction I swear it’s not an innuendo), this is, in my opinion, pretty much the best they get really. Any mmorpg that exists out there from what I’ve seen is by no means any superior to this one for my tastes unless it’s subscription-based.
