Guild Wars 2

Since the patch that prevents people from waypointing while their team is still fighting, I’ve seen a lot of threads on here saying it’s impossible to complete. Now, mind you, the guild I am in consists of a lot of weird, crazy, brainless people.. So we looked at eachother and went: Ok, we’re gnna do that without armor nao.

And so we did. Just to prove 2 points.
1) AC is still doable, even when you go full kitten
2) We’re insane.

Obviously, we aren’t the best of players. We didn’t even look at who would bring what profession. We all play what we enjoy. Our weapons weren’t all exotics, either. Or well, I know mine weren’t, as I’ve not had my american account for long enough yet to get her geared out. Me being in Europe on an American server means I did have delay, and I know my fellow teammates don’t all have a proper connection either. One of our other members in that run is in Australia.. Basically, what I’m trying to say.. You don’t need to be “elite” to pull this off, just a hint of insanity is enough.

You should read the forums a bit more. I’ve read a ton of posts stating it’s hard =/ We laughed, and did this =P

You have no idea what their traits were. It’s possible to have +300 toughness and +300 vitality without armour (down scaled in AC, the same as armour). I think all the solo vids proved you don’t need defensive stats, I think the average puging experience proves they are incredibly useful. I see people downed all the time. I’ll take someone with some defensive stats, able to take a hit to resurrect an ally over a zerker who is going to fall over if a stiff wind blows in his direction while resing an ally.

really does bring over the chaos we puggers sometimes have in our runs (I usually have 1 person I know, fill the rest with randoms). though you probably underestimate the value of knowing how a fight should work compared to gear. someone who has no clue how ac works will have many more deaths than you without gear, which is fine, but the current system (wp-ressing only outside of combat) disallows them the necessary training time to get better. so I kinda agree, AC or to some extent any dungeon is way to hard to get into and still easy if you know your way around.

this definately was a joke (why else would you run a dungeon naked?) and yes, there are people who find ac hard. this goes for every dungeon (or any other part of the game), the individual player skill will ceil somewhere, sometimes higher, sometimes lower. don’t be so condescending just because some players aren’t up to your standards. it’s ok if you say you only want to run with skilled/experienced players (same goes for me), but that doesn’t mean you should look down on them like this.

One naked (excluding Amulets) Elementalist with some skill is enough to complete Path 3 in AC. A naked warrior would extremely help, to not resign every time a breeder spawns at the burrow part, but isnt really required.

Traitwise, I know our necro has a ton of toughness and vitality. Our warrior I believe was in berserkers, as well as (I believe!) both our ele’s. We deffo liked having the necro there, as I always joke he should just take my hits and i’ll deal his damage for him.. Didnt go like that this run though, as my damage was very sub-par (I’m the ele with horrid fps) without my armour. We’re in no way awesome at the game, so even without armour, someone with a bit of tankyness was a blessing.

And if the necro reads this I’ll never hear the end of it.

Yes, our video is a sort-of joke. We’re rarely serious, ever, and we love it. Just before recording this we did P2 and went completely brainless on Kohler, wiping 4 times, with armour on. We often let having fun get in the way of staying organised.. We did this for fun, and oh dear, did we have it ^^ Armourless dungeons at 4AM, cause why the beep not.
I’ll agree that knowing how the fights work, helps tremendously. Which is why we often run dungeons with our less-experienced guildies, to show them the ropes n_n Once you get them down though, there’s room for having fun and doing dumb things, like taking off your armour.

This clearly would not have worked with 5 unclothed male characters, which is why we are seeing a 2:3 ratio for compensation.

So the question is why we are wearing armor ? Are there magical benefits of wearing them? Clearly nothing with poor character and armor stats design

Well, the loud voice is me, and last time I checked I was still female… ^^ I totally forgot to adjust my mic to recording-standards, hence the loudness. Imma assume it is me you’re speaking about, since I am the one that calls people names most of the time. They can handle it though! They’re all grown men =3

I’m not in charge of the patch notes, although I did make that request for it since there was considerable attention around the bug. Some bug fixes just aren’t deemed important enough to spend resources on, and some things we simply don’t announce (like some exploit fixes). I try to keep things as transparent as I can though, but the end decision isn’t up to me.

Complete with res’ing downed players while under fire and the last up player stepping out of combat so their mates can rejoin them via the nearby WP.

I have to give you mad props for being so vocal and helpful with the community, i wish more devs would do this.

Also to make my post relevant to this topic, the AC naked run was fun to watch. =P

It just shows we should never do pug, or be elitist and gear check everthing and kick noobs and anyone who isn’t doing well, not to mention lvl80 only.

Sorry for the whine, last time I complain, but that is kind of the reality.

Me and my guild did a naked AC run a month or two ago. It was good fun and definitely demonstrates that gear is not nearly as important as skill!

It also demonstrated AC can be done by a group of level35!

Since for some strange reason Anet think a typical downscaled level80 should still have 50% more power, double armor and toughness, 3 times more crit chance than a typical level35. “which is almost like a naked level80 wearing their weapon”! And people are wondering why no one invite low level people.

Congrats people, you just showed AC can be done by a group of level35. And now low level should never complain no one ever want them in party( end sarcasm ).

Me personally, I dont’ do AC unless I’m level80. But I question Anet’s motive of doing so. If those dungeon are not intend for low level, make the exp dungeon have a level restriction of level80. Else if you look at gwlfg, people are reluctant to invite lower level people.

Personaly I dont mind runin AC exp with low lvl folks, I only object when they are significantly under the lvl 35 limit. I’m sorry Mr lvl 15 but a stiff breeze from a mob passing gas in your general direction will kill you. Then agian if the player is at least withen a couple levels of the recomended level or higher they will probably do ok. Wont be as fast as a party of 5 berserker warriors but who cares, if I wanted that I’d look for speed run groups.
