New Dungeons are important
Episodes 1-4: story instances, new open world map (drytop)
Episodes 5-8: story instances, new dungeon (one path added with each episodes, beginning with story then 3 explorable)
Episodes 9-12: story instances, new open world map
Episodes 13-16: story instances, new content for guilds (extensive additions to missions)
Episodes 17-20: story instances, new open world map, huge world boss to end season
Post Season: 2-3 new fractals based on story steps
I like this plan, but it sounds like they don’t have the manpower for it :-(
Putting this in second post because of inevitable PvF XP, but I’d love to hear the new and open ArenaNet’s response to this reasonable idea.
fingers crossed for Monday
It seem that ArenaNet has always intended for the format which OP suggested, and dungeons to be a part of that story, as in Personal Story (Arah story) and then in LS S1: Molten Facility, Aetherblade Retreat with temporary short ‘dungeon’ instances like Scarlet’s Playhouse, Canach’s Lair. Along with these they introduced new memorable open world fights like Tequatl, Triple Trouble, Marionette, Escape from LA etc.
What I’m saying is Season 1 gave us a much better taste of different content all round every 2 weeks than in Season 2. The pace is slower / content seems to go in a different direction (more like building up the story again (aka Personal Story steps).
It makes me wonder if there is really all to it, if they plan to take a step back for PVE or have something bigger in plan.
