Seconded
Please give us a keyring…
I have found Symbol of Wraith on the Greatsword seems to debug him so he starts following you again.

I haven’t tried Path 1 & 3, but though I agree that most changes on path 2 are actually good (spider, new mechanics on scavengers, overall reduced health pool, …), I must also point out that the new ghost eater is horrendous. Spent half an hour on it after patch, and I’m really really happy to be all set on AC tokens. Seriously, do you really think that adding such a tedious and demanding mechanic on the first dungeon of the game was a good idea ?
I’d rather go wipe with PUGs in Arah than doing it again.

We had real problems with Path 2. Then 1 person quit and I got in a second Guildy, and we did it in no time at all. So I feel that part of the issue is people just not understanding the fight yet. When we had 3 people on the team that did it was just as fast as the fight was before.
It is not that we didn’t understood the fight. We got him down to half Health. Then he just spazzed out and the traps stopped stripping him of his Ghostly Shield…

I did this last night with 3 guildmates and a random person. Once we made it to the Ghost Eater and finally figured it out (good thing I was the one person in the group that had seen "Ghost Busters) and started communicating well with each other we were able to charge up the traps and slowly whittle the Boss’s health away. The problem was that one of the 3 traps (West) did NOT work at all. Another bigger problem was that on 4 separate occasions Ghost Eater froze in place and endlessly cycled through the “spitting out babies” animation for between 5 and 10 minutes each time. It took us almost 4x the normal amount of time to finish that dungeon and we were despairing that it wasn’t going to happen at all. With 3 of us having to get up for work in the morning this was a major disaster and until it’s fixed my guildmates won’t even consider playing it again.
*This doesn’t even include the terrible lag with the gravelings in the Spike Trap room (lag that never existed in my previous 34 runs through AC) or the ridiculous Champion Spider Queens new poison traps (I hope that was a bug and not the way it’s meant to be).
- I’ve been a loyal GW devotee for 8 years now and this is the first time I’ve been irked enough to make a post on the official forums, so please take it seriously. Thank you.
THis is the most ridiculously insane impossible boss i have seen guild wars 2 throw at me yet. The game has been so hard but i didn’t expect this. Arenanet you are a failure at making games. It’s as if you didn’t even test this. This boss is stupid and is unbeatable. Thank you for absolutely nothing. This has me seriously considering a refund because you guys seem to not test any of your content. you just throw it out there and let us suffer through it.
Bugs aside, the only changes this boss really could use would be a reduction in hit points or a fixed % damage that each trap does in addition to popping his shield. People have figured out how to handle the boss after 2-3 traps and anything beyond that begins to be tedious.
I think the mechanic is fine, just the boss drags on a little longer than really necessary.
If you’re going beyond 3 traps constantly, I would look at what is going on. It maybe a gear/level thing; for me, he normally dies after 2 traps. Sometimes I need a 3rd.

When I do it’s because I’m either running it as a four man or because it’s a lower level/first timer group. Two traps seems reasonable if you are running a very coordinated group with a lot of damage output. But how many traps would it take for five 35s in Greens? I wouldn’t be too surprised if it would be over 4 traps and I haven’t even considered that some players might be downed during the burn phase, which is bound to happen in a lower level pug.
I still think the fight is easy overall, but simply drags out longer than needed.
