New dungeon done right!
Legendary SoloQ
I totally agree. I love the feel of the dungeon as well as the challenge of it. Other dungeons make me go down maybe once, but this one killed me at least 9 times. I actually had to pay attention and think about the best ways to hop over electricity and defeat the boss.
I have yet to do a dungeon but I’m glad to see this. I’ve seen a lot of people asking for more challenging and new content. From your post it seems they have done both.
I am not a skilled player so you can probably guess that I was demolished in this dungeon many times. It is fun to have content where everyone has to keep planning new ways to overcome the challenges.
We got to the final boss with my pug group. The great thing about this instance is that it actually encouraged improvement. Not only were you punched in the gut when you wiped, you could only beat the boss through an improvement in skill, not just raw numbers.
If every instance was like this and offered suitable rewards, raiding wouldn’t be needed. Heck, just trying to beat the last boss was reminiscent of progression raiding. Clawing for that kill little by little, getting closer each attempt, and learning more and more tips and tricks in each attempt.
It was a little easy for our my engie guild, got a little bored/careless at last boss (she takes a while) and we wiped lol Overall still a fun dungeon though
Its ok I guess. Fun maybe a little. But best done with guildies. I would say its good content overall if a little short when it comes to combat.
Molten Facility is a lot more fun and everytime I did it I cracked up at the Berserker and the Firestorm. Even if they made the weapons test part more difficult by eliminating the safe spot and the fire waves doing more damage, I would still have loved it.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to get a group because it is so difficult. Most have given up on trying and there’s rarely a group forming for it on my server; or they want “experienced” players who have completed the dungeon.

The difficult part is getting ppl to survive the barrage phase. In lieu of a coordinated strategy, everyone should equip their invul, movement and evade skills
It’s “difficult” in the sense of old arcade games – if you make a mistake you have to start all over. It wouldn’t be bad if the fights weren’t taking so long, but having to do the same repetitive combat phase several times without screwing up?
Not my cup of tea.
After 11 wipes on first run, 3 broken pieces, a quitting party, and lots of laughs, THANKS! (no sarcasm). I havent been able to get past the first boss yet but im loving this dungeon, IT BETTER STAY! This thing is fun! Finally challenging content that isnt gated by guild members count!
Sadly the new dungeon is temporary content, but, the silly new JP to be added soon is going to be permanent, go figure.

Run around the perimeter as a group with swiftness….strategy done.

Arcade game, indeed.
We did not enjoy the frogger-style need-to-jump-on-top-of-the-crates arcade feel.
I get that ANet seems to be experimenting with different game styles. The arcade jumping and jumping puzzles are feeling stale. Looking forward to seeing some different creative implementations in the future. Hopefully.
Personal opinion and guild opinion.
To all those that were happy with this month’s temporary content: fantastic. Glad you found some fun.
-Not our cup of tea either

If they had built the other game dungeons more like this one (and the flame frost dungeon) I would probably be play them.
“…let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die;.”
Add my voice to those saying “really well done” on this.
Really like the direction that dungeon design seems to be taking.
the thing is; as a person that loves challenges that are well rewarded, this seems to finally strike that balance. I personally like dungeons that amke you interact with your surroundings rather than just good’ol wack-a-mole and tank-and-spank bosses while dodging maybe one or two ground-based spells every 10 seconds.
Most people are throwing themselves to the dungeon and learning it on the go, others are reading the spoilers (sadly I had to, otherwise my party would have probably left sooner)but regardless of that, it is fun, challenge is fun. I didnt like the guild missions because the content is gated by how large and active is your guild. (b=though im LOVING the races, those are fun!)

I would love to have this dungeon has permanent content, they can easly do it, by adding a small reward to it. for example: Fractal tokens, or let it give a random earring like we get rings in fractals.
Agreed, my group had a ton of fun. We 4 manned the dungeon last night (5th was at work), took a couple wipes but all in all, great stuff.
Hope to see more content like this.
I love this new dungeon and have been pretty lucky in completing it each time I’ve entered. I have guildies who wont touch it with a ten foot pole after wiping in the lazer room, but the majority of them are willing to keep trying.
It’s challenging and the reward is much better than the normal dungeon. I usually leave with close to 2g in under an hour. It’s no CoF farming, but hey, better than Arah and still just as fun!
