Seems like the next update will be revolving around new fractals based on the preview image on the releases page.

Swamp, Aetherblade Retreat, Dredge. Sounds like a fun-o-rama.

I have a bad feeling that it’ll turn out similar to the newer TA path. Tie that in with rng rolls and it’ll detract from fractals more than it’ll add after the initial hype dies down.

Can’t wait to play the Molten Facility one again! Loved the combat mechanics.

Prolly adding Molten Facility + Aetherblade Retreat as promised, plus Reactor Whatever cause Ellen won (and we could have got Abaddon. I lost faith in humanity back in July…).

A concrete revamp of the glaring flaws? I wouldn’t hold my breath, like, at all.

There won’t be a rewards overhaul overall; they will change to something that makes almost no difference like “Convert Shards of the Mist into Pristine Fractal Relics! Empyreal fragments for every run! Bloodstone dust has a chance to drop from Jade Maw! Happy now?” just to let us know that they looked at the absurdity that is fractal weapons, laughed heartily around the conference table, and decided to leave the only RNG in the game that can rival Zommoros’s cruelty in place. Also, expect no tweaking of dredge, and for all new fractals to be so long that people will groan when rolling them and go back to hoping for the underwater/ascalon/swamp trinity on every roll.

I am personally excited :O. I really liked Aether and Molten facility. But I really wanted to check Abbadon’s fractals >:I. Oh well.

I don’t understand why people want to rush through content much. I understand the frustration of being stuck in a fractal for hours because your team-mates are kitten ing around (Cliffside huh?), but other than a slightly longer run (Aether didn’t take that long!) I don’t think it’s that bad.

Now Mei-Ling with agony attacks is going to be painful. Very, very painful.

Am I the only one who thinks it will only be just 1 more fractal for the rotation?
The thaumanova reactor fractal being the one and that it will just be a regular fractal to bring the total to 10 plus Jade Maw?

I really, really don’t see them adding molten facility, aetherblade retreat and thaumanova reactor at the same time. I also don’t see them messing with the 4th fractal for even levels.

Meh… maybe I’m wrong, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

They said they would add all 3 at the same time. Theres no reason why they cant. Molten and aetherblade only need minor reworks to make them fractals. Thaumanova is new and will be the majority of the workload. But for a single LS release 2 altered instances and a brand new 1 isnt any more work than the nightmare tower stuff tbh.

I’ve seen players suggest this over and over, but have never seen anyone from Anet confirm that at all.

When they explained what we were voting for. I believe it was casually mentioned on the forums by devs multiple times that it would be developed later in the year and released along with molten facility and aetherblade retreat. Was months back so ill be kitten ed if i can find the actual posts though.

The search feature on this forum is useless.

So I dug through all of Colin Johanson and Chris Whiteside posts and other than Colin agreeing that adding the molten facility to fractals would be a good idea I didn’t see anything else regarding adding more than just the reactor.

Not going to bother digging through other dev posts, because it is a giant pain to have to do manually…

Oh well, hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Back in July Colin mentioned it on one of the live streams that the MF and AR would likely return as fractals.

Hope springs eternal.

Keep in mind he also said in the same live stream the the winner of the cutthroat politics election would have a large impact on all of tyria…

Don’t get your hopes high. They said new fractals based on Aetherblade & Molten Facility. Everyone read they’d be the new fractals taken as is.

I really hope they integrate it – would be awsome. Fractals are the only thing for which i log in anymore. We did up to 61 so far and i really hope they bring in new stuff and rework the dredge fractal.

Aaaand – rewards… Nice new shinies and some way to get our desired fractal skins somehow deterministic.

Is it confirmed that the next release is about fractals? Cause when I see this picture, it could very well be more Scarlett stuff.

Some of these will make for really really long fractals unless they shave a lot of them off.

The bottom picture is definitely the Molten Facility. It’s the area where you fight the Molten Berserker and Molten Firestorm.

I’ll bet the older 2 are just thrown into the rotation and the reactor is added to the end of every odd number. that way you can choose your poison for the end. maw or reactor run, but never both.

I know it will never happen, but I really hope we get an Urgoz flavored fractal at some point…

There is so much in GW1 they could/should implement in Fractals tbh…

Prophecies:

• Rescue Rurik from the ice at the Frost Gate

• Something to do with the story of Saul D’Alessio

• Saving the chosen from getting murdered on the bloodstone

• Fighting the Mursaat in various stages of history (make a pick)

• Fighting alongside the Seers against the Mursaat

• Stopping the titans from overrunning Droknar’s Forge

• Something with the Forgotten

• Something like Hell’s Precipice

• Defending Thunderhead Keep

• Sorrow’s Furnace

• Tombs of the Primeval Kings

Factions

• Something with the Deep/Urgoz

• Something like Vizunah Square where you need to meet up with some NPC’s

• Killing Shiro the first time alongside Vizu, Archemorus and St. Viktor

• Defending the Tengu from getting slaughtered by the Ministry

• …

Nightfall: I don’t really like many of Nightfall’s missions, but

• Fighting Palawa Joko alongside Varesh’s father

• Something with the Draught

• Kill Kormir before she releases Abaddon and Nightfall (I would love this, also, must watch)

• Mallyx/Jadoth/whatever

• …

GW1 had such amazing missions and lore they can use to make countless Fractals. I mean, they could make a Fractal team and have them just pick some stuff from GW1 and release a new Fractal every month or 2 and it’d be fine. Just show it some love…

Oh, by the way, I hope they keep their LS crap out of Fractals though…

Just a heads up you can get BOTH a weapon skin and an ascended weapon chest on daily chest i just did my 38 daily and got both!! I’m all for a fractal weapon ticket though so tired of doing this over and over to NOT get the fractal sword or at least make it a fractal weapon chest…
