New mossman
Eh, you should know that there’s already two new spots found where people can stack and hit away at Mossman, now it’s to hugging trees again instead of poledancing.
Did mossman a few minutes ago with two other pugs. (other poeple leaved when they see no safe spot) It’s totally easy and doable. Maybe a bit too much HP but the need to use a “safe spot” is totally useless.
The defiance bar seems to be easiest to break too.
Atleast they fixed the molten skip for good
Im glad that they fixed both the rev and the ele/guard/warr skip. You DO have to actually kill the stuff before being able to trigger the boss. Just standing in the boss room wont work anymore.
Its all still so faceroll though.. i want my old fractal system back.. or make lv94 part of te daily anet <3
Standing on the tree west of the entrance pool to mossman seems to be the new thing now. Players can damage him with little damage in return, and the challenge is completely gone once again.
The point was not to fix this one exploit with the roof/pole, but to make it impossible to safespot the guy. Would be nice if a random intern at Anet would find all these spots and remove them.

Once again? The challenge was gone since HoT. Safespot or not, the content is faceroll. ;(

Yep….pre-HoT there was at least some challenge when Mossy hit like a truck.; one bouncing axe throw was enough to drop a few players that were caught off guard. Nowadays the “safespots” aren’t 100% fullproof, but the reduction in damage from FotM makes it to where you can easily ignore most blows from bosses.
As soon as the first person pops out of the water, the entire party should get teleported into an empty white-box room that contains them + Mossman. I suspect until this happens people will find some way to game the geometry.
The geometry exploitation on Mossman is kinda silly. First it was under the ramp, then it was in water, then the pole, now the tree. All that just so you can spend 3x the time to kill a relatively straight forward boss.
I’m a complete nub in real terms to gw and gw2. Signed up at the end of September and started fractals in December. Love em to be honest – but then, they are all still new to me
Did the “Pole” things a week or two ago, and last night did mossman without the pole thing. Definitely seems easier/quicker without the Pole.. shrugs Maybe it was just the pug i was with?

For the most part it depends on your team. If everyone is appropriately geared (with AR) and know what attacks to avoid then the run is going to feel very smooth. Even more butter if you’re slapping on boons and buffs for more damage and/or mitigation.
Now if you get a lousy team where players are trying to sneak in with less than appropriate AR or are taking hits left and right? Then it might just be easier to jump into a tree where I can at least watch YouTube or something while AA-ing to make use of the extra time I’ll be in that fight.
No faith anymore in people charged with fixing bugs here. Sigh. I bet Gliding + Aviator’s box still doesn’t work, too.

My issue with knowing which attacks to avoid, is you can barely see what ol’ mossy is doing under all that guardian/ele fire and other effects.
I’ll admit it, I suck at fighting mossman. But only because I can’t see him.

We do him normally on lvl77, but really, it just takes too long. It’s not hard, just tedious. I understand if players are looking for a convenient way to kill him. Lower his HP and introduce some new interesting mechanics.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
The general input from most of the comments on the bosses (fractals and elsewhere) are make the mechanics different, interesting.
To be honest, I’d like to see the mechanics change randomly. 3 or 4 types of mechanic, maybe even 5, and RNG picks one and off you go Keep people on their toes.
I d not understand you people you are complaining about the way people are playing their game if you do not like them using the trees then don’t use them it is that simple. People that say this is an exploit are dead wrong the trees are not the end all be all if you go to high up he becomes invulnerable so you have to be low enough for him to hit you so there is no exploit it is just an easier place to stack it matters not if you stack in the middle of the area all this dose is stops him from jumping around and taking longer then he already dose. please learn what they are being used for before you speak.
Plus about ppl being able to do higher levels with lower AR get over it maybe they are just better then you are maybe they do not have the deep pockets you have to make the armor because the prices of stuff on the trading post went through the roof and farming the stuff is almost impossible I know I have tried to farm to make stuff but guess what it takes for ever then you are stuck using exotic gear and some teams are you need this to do that well guess what you don’t you need smarts and if using our brains is against any rules then I for one am guilty and so are 3 quarters of all the rest of the community.

Abusing a mechanic that was not inteded by devs to trivialize an encounter to the point where it can be killed without proper gear sounds like an exploit to me. How do I know it wasn’t intended? They removed the pole.

It does not take any longer if your party does not run around like headless chicken.
