I’ve been playing GW2 for about six months now, I have one 80 (engineer) and a few other of various levels. When I see call outs for empty spots for a dungeon run, I want to join but I’m hestitant since I’ve never done one (not even my final story one yet )

Is there another thread, link or a general suggestion for someone who hasn’t run dungeons to get started. My great fear is I’ll join and say I’ve never run it and get kicked. Or. I’ll join, not say and cause the group harm before I don’t know what to do.

Just whisper them and tell them what you’ve written here. Most people will say no problem and they can keep your inexperience into account. There are plenty of people willing to teach to that stuff. If someone doesn’t want an inexperienced player, no problem, you were being honest about it. If someone accepts you and starts raging, it’s his own fault: you did tell him. Just start playing

Text Gudes and class “tips” (yet the site is still in development and is updated frequently) I suggest use the “setting” option in the upper left corner first.

Yet You should whisper and say that You are not experienced with dungeons, some party want experience only some does not care.

This +100. There’s nothing more annoying than a newbie that doesn’t state that they’re a newbie.

Okay, I lied, a newbie that doesn’t state they’re a newbie, but then goes on to ignore every further direction/advice to help them is more annoying. Those get a kick/block.

Also, if you’re confused by something or are unsure, ask, don’t just remain quiet, that will probably cause a mess that may tick people off.

Read your party chat. Almost every newbie gets so focused on what they’re doing they don’t realise that no one is along side them, and they’re getting shouted at over chat. Avoid “speed run” groups and actually listen to your team, and you won’t have any trouble.

I think there are quite a few people on the forums who are happy to take you along for a dungeon run, myself included if you’re in an NA server. Everyone’s had a first time in a dungeon – just pay attention to chat and wait for instructions before charging in.

People won’t usually kick you if it’s your first time unless you joined one of those farming/speedclearing/‘must know how to exploit by jumping puzzle’ parties, but if you don’t say it’s your first time and you do something that makes it obvious it’s your first time, or if you just don’t read what’s in party chat, most of the time you can expect to get booted to the loading screen.
