Hey Elric,
First off server doesn’t really matter. The great thing about GW2 is that dungeons are cross server, and since you are on a North American server we are able to party together. And I can help out this weekend if will be online mate. Just message me with your schedule and we can try to set something up.
Hi,
I am a lvl 80 guardian and would very much like to learn how to do all the Dungeons and Fractals.
If there is a Guild out there who is doing lots of Dungeons and is willing to teach me the basics, please contact me.
I would like to play a bunker/tank/support role.
The dungeons of this game is not really newbie friendly for 3 reasons.
1) Domain knowledge – In most other MMOs, your survival is just your role in the trinity. In this game, your survival is based on your domain knowledge of the enemy’s mechanics. Learning this mechanic without experience is really hard.
2) Gear check – Gears progression is not clear cut. There should be PvE equivalent of Invader’s gear (general purpose dungeon gear) for each profession. This will help with “gear check”-style encounters.
3) “experienced only” – Too many people are just farming these days, they demand others to have both the gear and experience. This new players finding a group where they can learn and grind the gear very hard.
Hello everyone, I have a level 80 Thief and with a friend (a level 15~ elementalist) I recently got back into GW2 and we would like to find someone to team up with because I almost forgot everything of the game and my friend is unexperienced of basically all GW2. We are very patient and we both write in good, understandable English.
You can find me ingame as Nevetz.
Cheers.
I bought gw2 recently(2 days ago.) and I was a bit eerie about. I saw that the standard digital version was on sale for $50, so I decided to finally buy it. I had no regrets, it was Better than I expected it to be. I’m playing pvp a bit and w v w. and doing a few spider quest dungeons in sylavari territory. It is great. If people want a guy to play with on ehmry bay. Add me. Freefallxx.
Hello everyone! Askew Krewe is a guild on Tarnished Coast and Crystal Desert with a number of experienced dungeoneers. We welcome all classes and don’t mind explaining stuff. Message me here or in-game if you’re interested.
I know there’s a ton of newer players out there who would love to do dungeons but for various reasons have not been able to try. For those of you in this category, my guild is starting dungeon mentoring days where the intent is to let people get their teeth cut in a friendly environment where as long as they meet the minimum level for the dungeon they are welcome to come if we have open groups. No one is going to be told they have to play a certain class, run a certain build, or have to do exactly what we say. You won’t be forced to conform to the current meta that has been forming around dungeons. You can do just about any dungeon path in this game with any mix of classes with a coordinated and experienced group in 30-45 minutes. Our intent for our guild members that have never done any dungeon but Citadel of Flames is to get them to learn coordination and flexibility in their weapon and utility choices, and teaching them the individual dungeon mechanics in a friendly way. No one is going to yell at you, kick you, or make you feel unwelcome. If you’re dying a lot with your current setup we will make suggestions but ultimately your build is your own choice. If any of this interests you feel free to message me in game. We’re not teaching speed farming, just basic dungeon mechanics that will allow you to actually complete paths and enjoy your dungeon runs, cause lets face it if you spend over and hour and aren’t even halfway through no one is having any fun.
I just transferred to Crystal Desert and this is exactly what I’m looking for. I’m too new to the forum to send private messages, but I send you main in-game. Does your guild still do this? Can anyone point me to a guild like this one?
Hey Everyone,
Sorry for the late responses. Dramen was on a break from the game, and for some reason I was unable to access the forums… But we are both available now and he has recently joined my guild in an effort to help more people.
To answer everyone’s questions: Yes, we still teach people dungeons IF they contact us. But you need to contact us in-game if you want help. Just add us to your friend list and if you see us online send us a message, or send us some in-game mail. Or if you are interested in joining a Dungeon Guild like ours, check out the link in my signature, or the Guild Recruitment section of the Forums.

What Kane said.
If you are interested go to the guild website, I am trying to once again schedule intro runs to dungeons (what my old guild affectionately called Dungeon 101) on the guild forums. I have recently been having some real life conflicts that have caused me to put those on hold but I plan to resume them in the next few weeks.
I’ll teach them.
Go zerker.
Stack on bosses.
Throw some skills around.
Done.
Great idea guys, I’ll definitely keep it in mind for when I want to do some of the other dungeons.
Also, I recently finished collecting a full set of AC gear. If anyone wants help with that dungeon, feel free to message me in game. I don’t mind teaching people how to run it
But what is your guild’s name? You might wanna mention that in your opening post.

We don’t use this as a recruitment post. We do not expect the people we teach to join our guild (though the majority of them do). This is a service to the community, and to the newer players that occasionally get left in the dust by the larger guilds that are only interested in farming influence. Hence why our Guild isn’t mentioned.
But it is listed in our signatures.

Hello Everyone,
I am new to Guild Wars 2. Also, I have never played an MMO before or a PC game so this is a first for me. I am wondering how dungeons work? Do I need to be a certain level? Any advice would be awesome.
Thanks
CrazyPhilosopher. Dungeons in GW2 requires you to be a certain level to access them. As you gain levels you’ll open up more dungeons. First you’ll have to do the dungeon in story mode and then that dungeon with open to explorable mode with more content available. Explorable mode is a bit higher level (5 levels I believe) so you’ll need to lvl up a bit more before attempting it.
Example: Ascalonian Catacombs is the first instance you can run and its at lvl 30 story mode and lvl 35 explorable.
Hey Kane,
The recruitment post on your forums state that you require 100% representation. Would I not be able to switch back and forth between my main guild and your guild (when running dungeons?). Just wondering Thank you in advance for your reply!
Hey Nova,
Our Guild does require 100% representation, but you do not have to join our Guild for us to teach you. Again this isn’t a recruitment post, we are doing this for the community. If you want to get in on a teaching run just message us when you see us online, and we will stick you into a group if we have room.
I asked a guildie before about doing Arah and was just told good luck finding people to run it. Does anyone actually play it? I can’t even find a group for story mode!
Sad. Sad. Panda.
nobody does story mode because it’s long and boring, but people do explorable quite often. however, if you’re new to arah and want to avoid running into an unpleasant experience with PUGs, try using the arah lfg guild.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Arah-Vets-grouping-together-to-do-Arah-Runs
watching strife’s videos/gw2dungeons is also pretty helpful but the lfg guild is probably your safest bet for getting into arah as a newbie.
Are there any European guilds that does this? (maybe in Desolation?) I have had more dungeon runs that went horribly wrong than the opposite. I have managed to clear the story mode in all of them, but when explorable starts, something just happens with the groups I find.
Firstly, this is a great idea so well done to the op/guild that are providing this service.
I’ve been playing GW2 from the start and am only now starting to get into the dungeons, so most have been on story mode. Having made the decision to go for a legendary recently I noticed that I need to do the Arah dungeon a fair few times for the gift. I tried the LFG system last night and was horrified to see most of the groups demanding gold for runs etc. The one group that didn’t I then joined, was honest and told them I hadn’t done exp mode yet – they then asked me to leave as they didn’t want to spend the next 2hrs pulling a noob along.
This is the first time I’ve encountered such unhelpful and selfish behaviour in the GW2 community, so it’s great to see that the people in this thread are willing to help others out.
I’ll be messaging in-game soon if the offer is still there. Or if there are others wanting to do Arah on a semi-regular basis then that’d be great too – feel free to add me!
That is unfortunately the same type of story you hear about Arah again and again. The dungeon is not as hard as many people make it out to be, we run it about every night and honestly it is not a big deal to take one new person with you. We don’t ever take more than two new people into a run there at a time since we’re not pro and if we end up having to 3 man Lupi it can get rough since depending on your class one mistake will down you. Sadly too many people want to focus on the skipping exploits that have become widely known instead of learning how to actually handle the bosses there, which are not difficult with a little practice. The legitimate skipping parts can be rough on new people if the group doesn’t have stability since there are often large sections you run across with risen hot on your heels. If you haven’t already whisper me in game when you see me, and if we have room and are doing Arah we’d be happy to explain the dungeon to you.
My brother is a part of a guild that is not very interactive with him. How can we join your guild and participate in some of these dungeon runs? We haven’t done any before and are only around level 40.
All you need to do is contact us in game, and we will help you out.
Hello, is this invitation still going on? me and my buddy are interested in getting our dungeon master titles. we have all story modes cleared out, and a couple explorer modes done. we are both 80 with full exotic and some ascended. Who should i contact? also this is NA right?
Yes, this is still going, and you can contact either myself or Dramen Maidria in game, if you need some help or want an invite to one of the runs. And Yes, this is for NA only.
I would love to get some help with them dungeons I haven’t been able to do any in exploration since I haven’t had anyone to play with
Sure Limpan, just send me a message next time your in game.
I’d also love to learn the dungeons, currently leveling a Guardian (lvl 39).

Just whisper myself or Kane next time you catch one of us on, we’ll be happy to take you on some runs. Right now you’re limited to Ascalonian Catacombs or just story mode of Caudecus Manor, but you level pretty fast doing dungeons. As long as you constantly replace your gear when it gets outdated its not a problem doing dungeons at their set level.
I’ve played the game for quite some time now, enjoying my time spent in the game and leveling diffrent character but never really been doing much of PvE dungeons or fractals, I would love to learn more about them.
Great idea i just created a post about this and did not even see this, how do i join?
Just contact either myself or Dramen in game, and we will get you into one of the runs.
I would love to participate on that =D i wanna learn about every dungeon and its paths.. me and my girlfriend love to explore Tyria, so i want to learn everything… and we will take some times to really explore all the dungeon after that…
there is some rare boss in some dungeons that i want to know what we can get if we kill him like a Troll boss in Ascalon Catacombs, most of people just ignore this… but we want to try everything, we are always looking for people that like that kind of things to play together too
by the way… i dont like those LFG messages like you must be level 80 and be the class that THEY WANT YOU TO BE, just to go on dungeons… so.. i started using the message WE ARE NOT RACIST EVERYONE WELCOME
game content is to have fun… if you get someone with that doesnt know something… take 2 minutes to teach him… everyone can have fun together
Just whisper myself or Kane next time you see one of us online. I tend to be on later and Kane is usually on during prime time hours.
Hey Dramen, Kane!
I just want to point out here that the best way to get in the front of the line for these dungeon mentor runs is to join http://knights-of-ares.enjin.com/
If your a guildie we have over 15 officers/mentors who teach dungeon everyday. Its a great way to skip ahead of the line and not have to wait for the next public mentor dungeon event.
Hey,
I would like to do dungeons. I’ve done all of ascalons 3 parts and one of honor of the waves, Cof 1 (twice) , Caladon Forest ( part one), and Dredgehaunt cliffs (part 1). I would like to include my husband in Cof dungeon because its fun. However, he needs 500 knowledge crystals where he has to do CoE dungeon and I’ve never done it. I’m in the TRU guild and you can e-mail me (signetvonbaugh, duellvonbaugh, feriousvonbaugh, jane oakenshield, elmearvonbaugh, charmearvonbaugh, or andrevonbaugh). Those are my character names. Thank you for your time and interest in people trying to get dungeon experience or dungeon master status (like me). By the way, all these characters are level 80’s.
We are in the process of planning a large scale Dungeon Mentoring run, with groups to teach people for every Dungeon. We are hoping to have everything planned and ready in a couple weeks. So if you are interested in attending either message myself or Dramen, or continue to watch this thread for details! Happy Dungeon Running!

Knights of Ares will be holding a dungeon teaching event this saturday at 5:00pm Server Time (5:00pm PST) 8th Febuary. We will be running 4 dungeons at the same time all starting with Ascalonian Catacombs and proceeding with higher level dungeons that will be decided by the groups. Each Dungeon group will have 2 Knights of Ares Mentors leading/teaching them. This allows one of the leaders to concentrate on explaining the mechanics and the other to assist with the dungeon.
At this moment we have 3 spots in each dungeon group with a total of 12 spots. Anyone who wants to join our groups people make sure to have Teamspeak 3 installed. We are opening our private TeamSpeak 3 server to the public so it is easier for players to learn. You do not need to have a microphone as you can just listen Our Ts3 Server information is: TS3WDC02.TrinityGames.com:9988 (case sensitive and at the moment it has a password which will be removed on the day).
The Dungeons that the groups will run include Ascalonian Catacombs (AC), Crucible of Eternity (CoE), Twilight Arbor (TA), Citadel of Flames (CoF), Sorrows Embrace (SE) and Honor of the Waves. If you are interested in these dungeons post below and be online on the day of this event. We will try to do most of the dungeons however some may be skipped to save time.
This event is to allow new players to learn these dungeon first hand from an experienced mentor. If you wish to join this event please make sure to post below and be online on the day of the event.
It’s great that you guys are doing this for the community! I’ve been away for a while so it’ll be good to be able to join in on some experienced runners. Looking forward to it.
Its not just us, there is also a teaching guild that has been formed in recent weeks, and their thread finally got stickied so it is easier for people to access for help.
Any EU guilds following in the footsteps of the amazing knights of ares?
lvl 45 warr here would love to learn the dungeon ropes! im on fissure of woe, with GMT+0 if that helps
Noob Guild is on a worldwide scale ^^
im well aware of that, shame the sun isnt, so they are outside of my timezone
As far as I know Ultra, there are unfortunately no EU guilds that are doing something like this currently. Sorry mate, wish we could help you out.
Noob Guild is on a worldwide scale ^^
Actually there’s one.
As Ultra mentioned Noob’s time schedule didn’t work for him, so he was looking for other alternatives, of which there are none as far as I know. So your post was no help to him. If you know of another alternative then please post it to help him out, otherwise this is not a recruitment thread.

I guess it’s confusing because noob doesn’t have a time schedule. But yes, anyway. We should encourage our EU folks to make a more structured guild for those not interested in noob.
He is probably looking for scheduled runs, like ARES does, that he can make it to based on his schedule. And I agree Lilith. If anyone is interested in doing this for EU and wants some help setting it up let us know, we would be glad to help.

I just hit 30 a couple of days ago and went to look on the LFG for runs of AC and all of them were 80+.
