Guild Wars 2

Hey guys
I used to be a WoW player, and lost interest a while back, may go back to it in the future, who knows!
Any way, the way the dungeons worked on WoW were very straight forward and easy to get along with.
I got GW2 the day it came out and have been on and off playing it, losing motivation here and there and now I really am trying to push my self to get back into it and just generally get back to my gaming!
I just want to know some basics about the dungeons and how they work in Guild wars?
I only very briefly played GW1 and that was a very long time ago!
So what level can you start getting into them?
How do you get into them etc?
Basic noob questions I suppose aha! But obviously I wish to enjoy the full potential and greatness of this game
Any help/answers would be much appreciated

Heres a link that might help!

The earliest level you can do a dungeon is Lv 30, which is the Story mode of the Ascalonian Catacombs. Basically, you do story mode (Kind of like normal mode) in order to unlock the other explorable modes (Hard mode).

I’m not going to lie, they’re going to be pretty challenging and take some getting used to. It may be hard to find a group, but a great website to do so is here.

If you need help doing any dungeons or want a more detailed response, feel free to add me in-game.

Would just add, it helps to have appropriate level gear. Masterwork quality can be purchased for a trivial amount and will help you be more viable (no need to go to rare unless you feel like splurging).

One of the things that has made the dungeon experience awesome for me was having a static dungeon team (friends or dungeon guild) that develops its teamwork over time. I do dungeons with my team pretty much every time I log on. It’s certainly not required to do dungeons, but I feel you may get a better experience from it.

If there’s any issue that you run into while doing dungeons, always ask for help on these forums as there are many helpful players who can give you great advice. Some people like to rant and complain something is “impossible” when they haven’t even tried to ask for advice, which doesn’t get them anywhere. Have bookmarked lots of helpful sites too, but will deffo come on these forums regularly

I will also add, I am level 52 aha, so I guess I missed out on the earlier ones :p but that’s because I am still a noob and didn’t really fully understand!
I do love this game though!

Don’t worry, I never did a single dungeon before hitting lvl 80 and that doesn’t make the earlier ones less fun. In fact, I’ve done CM (lvl 40) twice in a row once. If you have a decent party it’ll be fun either way.

I know obviously on guild wars it reduces your level to the appropriate one of each area you go to, so does it do that with Dungeons? Like even though I’m a higher level can I go back to other ones?

Yeah, you can. Some of the lower level dungeons are even tougher than higher level dungeons.=P

Yeah, it does that in dungeons too. And you can always go back to the other dungeons. After finishing story mode, you can do explorable modes which are harder that story mode.
