News on FOTM 50+?
A little off topic, but is there any benefit to running that high level FOTM (45+ or even 40+)? I do 30s daily and I can’t really push myself to go higher.

You have a much better chance of getting a skin at 48 than 30s. Anything below 48 is a waste of time. I’ve leveled 2 characters to 48 and I’m yet to get a skin below 46 and I’ve gotten 15 or so from 48s.
Many of us would like some info on fractals and if anything is in the works. There have been so many threads on it but no response.

Dem skins.
Which I believe is also the reason why 50+ have been hard capped. People who ran 60 70 dailies before the patch told me that skins were almost guaranteed to drop each run.
For me actually, it’s a combination of two things;
I LOVE the high level play. Did a 49 with a group this week and it was the most amount of fun I’ve ever had in PVE. Just the coordination and skill that is involved by each player and the necessity of positioning is thrilling. Second, I can’t stand farming or running COF over and over and the random nature of fractals and the semi-decent rewards on the final chest allow me a way to make a decent amount of money while still having a butt load of fun.

There is a better chance for a skin at 40+, but lower lvls are not useless. Ive got almost as many skins on 20+ and 30+ as I have from 40+ (12 total)
It’s RNG and all based on luck, but running 40+ will increase your chances slightly.

Your experience is significantly different from mine. My groups tend to be 1 of 2. 1 is we all know what we’re doing so we just mindlessly walk through 48 with hardly any challenge. 2 is at least 3 of the 4 other players have no clue as to what they’re doing and actively hold the group back so hard that the content takes 4x longer to complete than usual.
One time at 48, we had the dumbest guard I’ve ever seen in my life. He didn’t know what projectile walls were, refused to use them (even after being repeatedly asked to use them), never used his virtues, didn’t know what dodge was, and would die instantly after every single ele spawn. The team was me on thief, the guard, 2 necros, and an ele. The people were very anti-kicking the guard b/c he’s a guard so he should be carrying the group (that annoying classification). After 3 hours of failing, the guard left. We replaced him with a warrior or necro (can’t remember which), beat it on the 1st try no problem.
The content isn’t hard (even on 48), but a terrible player can sabotage an entire run for the group if they refuse to cooperate.
I know unlocking the 50s won’t get rid of all those kinds of players but it will certainly help weed out a few that basically just troll the group who are trying to farm for their skins.
Sorry if this post seems a little misguided. Tired and can’t really maintain a solid train of thought.

A-Net has utterly ignored every thread about FOTM. There’s been so many threads regarding FOTM one has to wonder why they ignore so many threads, especially since from looking at gw2lfg.com it is one of the most popular run dungeons in this game so there is a good sized chunk of their playerbase which would benefit from many of the great ideas and concerns people have brought forth on this board.
I think that ArenaNet will hold back on any fractal changes or additions until the next time they do a large fractal update.
Its a bit disheartening, but clumping the ascended gear and possible reward fixes and additions in with new maps and increased difficulty scaling would probably make the update look more substantial whenever it is released.
Also, it would give the team working on it some unified goals, creating and messing with existing stuff to match with the newly added stuff, instead of just messing with existing stuff.
This also means that we probably won’t see any changes for a while, because Living Story looks to be their jam right now.

Or they are waiting ESO to go up, something tells me biggest patch in gw2 will be some days before that.

its way easier :|
nowaday you find 0 AR players even at 30+ and even worse….
At 20-30+ prepare to solo most fractals because too many players are there without knowing how the game works…
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
Why start another FOTM thread when no others have been answered? FOTM has the worst reward for difficulty of any content in the game. Updates have been ignored for months with the exception of nerfing loot on mobs making them even worse.
I’d love to see some udpates, but Anet seems more intent on adding entry level content.
They won’t address anything on fractals until the big update for it comes. Which I’m guessing will be June. After that it will take them another 5-7 months to address any issues from fractals because they release patches once a month that focus on 1 part of the game
