No More Underwater Fractal </3
If you ask me, all Fractals should have a chance to spawn in two bands. Short ones like Swamp and Aquatic spawn mostly in the first band, but still have a small chance to spawn in the second one. Longer fractals like Underground or Thaumanova spawn mainly in the third band, but also have a smaller chance to spawn in the second.
While the only time I like to have underwater fractal is when there is Daily Aquatic Slayer on, that sounds like a good way to add it.
I wasn’t able to do Aquatic for the Fractured achievement because of this.
Consider how it removes 15 from your AR ….
breather + underwater weapons…..seems a good reason to being avoidable.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
Its a shame because it was one of the fun fractals on necro and it was going to be the only place i could show off my eventual kraitkin. Now that we never do underwater fractal anymore I probably wont ever get kraitkin unless i end up having more money than sense (unlikely with my spending habits).

As an aside, I like that they consider Ascalon a “short fractal.” I take it that they didn’t ever do it above level 70. At that level it was probably more painful than Cliffside or even Dredge.

70? I doubt they did it above 20.

Ascalon is tier 1 while Aetherblade retreat is tier 3. Anet logic.
thaumanova tier 3 makes me happy when we get that.

I think cliffisde was one of the easier fractals on 70+.

Next to impossible to get hit with Agony in that fractal.
Wrong. I often do the Underwater fractal as the first one. Well, the first one we get between Underwater and Swamp is the one we keep.
I kind of like it though the boss is very boring.
They could just add additional combat events to the swamp fractal to make it longer. In all honesty though, swamp is so much easier/faster than all the others its really pointless to do anything else. Compare it to something like Ascalon or Harpies, why wouldn’t you roll swamp first?
While we’re at it, the combination of F2 Cliffside and F3 Dredge should be made so it doesn’t happen.

Don’t give them ideas, even on a dead forum.
I might be one of the only ones, but I actually quite enjoy the underwater fractal. Unfortunately, since the Fractured update, it might as well have just been removed from the game.
At the moment, the underwater fractal is considered a “short” fractal, along with swamp and Ascalon. Unfortunately, because swamp is much quicker, literally every group simply keeps rolling until they get swamp, meaning no one ever plays underwater fractal anymore. The ascalon fractal is a possible second fractal, so it still pops up occassionally, but if the group starts with swamp, the underwater one is completely gone from the rotation.
Please, please, add the underwater fractal to the second fractal rotation. I’m tired of having to beg groups not to roll swamp in order to see it.
Then run with different groups, water is just as fast as swamp in an organized group. My groups usually roll swamp as well but we like to have the agony on Mesmer for a harder fractal should we get one.
