I had thought Anet announced that there was going to be a new fractal with the quarterly update. I certainly didn’t see anything in the notes and now I cannot find where I might have seen that announcement. Did anybody else come across that same announcement? If so could you post where it was stated?

Based solely on the patch notes, no there are no new fractals. They said they were working on them, and I personally don’t recall a specific release being mentioned for the Quarterly Update, may be wrong tho.

Personally I don’t even care. They fixed the AIDS-inducing instabilities, destroyed SotM with the new dailies, and incentivized high level fractals. I’m happy with that for now.

Thanks for the response. I am happy with all the changes I have seen so far, i just had picked up the wrong impression somewhere and come to an incorrect expectation.

They said that a new fractal would be released this year, but not when in the year. They also said that new fractals will only be released with seasonal patches, never between them. Based on this information, I was personally expecting it in the Fall patch, but we’ll see for sure as we get there.

I did a 94 (cliffside) and a 83 (furnace) a few hours ago. Both bosses went down very very fast.

Also did Mai Trin at 100, which took significantly longer, but the whole fractal is basically just that fight, so I think that’s fine.

How is the new archdivinr fight and the mechanic with the hammer?

The fight is pretty well designed. Not nearly as long, but a lot more punishing. On the highest difficulty, you really need to be on top of dodges.

The hammer mechanic in the fight is essentially identical. The only difference is the final seal only takes 1 hit at the end instead of 2.

Cliffside was changed due to obvious reasons, so i don’t count that to the stated problem.
Molten furnace has never been a thing so far. I’m speaking of Snowblind (not the ice elemental) and the last boss (Son of Svanir Shaman). Underground Facility Fractal lvl 81 endboss was the same thing, also Urban Battleground Fractal lvl 78 but not that boring.
Still pure annoyance. I like to face challenges but you get your rewards for being patient, nothing more.

Ya the Cliffside fractal is a lot better. I did Cliffside 82 and I find it a bit too easy. I mean, we downed a couple of time as we tried to learn his attack (it was our first fractal in a long time). It was a lot more fun, but his new attack where telegraphed a bit too much if you ask me. But like I said, overall a lot better than it used to be.

So far, the bossed don’t seem to be too long to kill. Keep in mind that most people only have 1 character with 150 AR so pug and even most guild run don’t have a great composition. We ran with 2 Warrior, 1 Guardian, 1 Thief and 1 Herald. With a Warrior, Chrono, Druid, 2 Ele party it would have been a lot faster.

I don’t understand why you’re quoting me and quoting the AMA. Also, they have taken back their word before with the legendary weapons and only having 4 out of 16. I’m all for them bribing back my favor with free shared slots and dyes, but they still took back their word.

Right now though, 3/4-expansion-Mike is delivering just fine, even without new fractals

As you could have seen, my post was referring to the daily of the patch day. Today’s daily fractals were/are fine. 94 cliffside because this fractal + the boss hp were revamped and molten furnace because there isn’t rly a boss fight (the dredge at the end has way less hp compared to others). Mai Trin should be nerfed in hp, no matter what, it’s still bullkitten.

Yes, I was talking about the patch day-daily too. Ashym was completely fine, Dredge Suit was okay, we had to four man it so we were missing some dps and like I said, Lornarr could actually use some less HP.

Mai Trin doesn’t even take long while being the last fractal. If we were to “nerf” the duration of the fight, then she simply shouldn’t reset at 25% and the crew she summons should be more dangerous + needs to be killed in order to finish.

You said that “Mike probably vetoed the fractal” and in the AMA they said it was due this year. Clearly, he hasn’t vetoed it yet.

You could have said that you don’t trust Mike’s word any longer, because of the cancellation of legendaries and you aren’t willing to cut them any slack for realizing they bit off more than they could chew.
