No WP a problem in "4-man-able" dungeons
Kholer rewards you with a chest, and coin, so no it isnt pointless. It can also be one-manned
I dont mind a 5 min timer though, but I dont see what your issue is in your examples. Jade Maw does not take an hour after the final platform jump. If youre referring to some point at the beginning it still does not take an hour. Hell might only take 15min for the entire fractal. If you wanted to respawn, ask your party to get out of combat.
Same can be said of Kholer, ask them to retreat a little or better yet, rez you.
in the first case, your party is full of chumps not your fault i guess but you did pug i assume. with kholer or any boss.. stop letting people die than nobody has to 2man it. the door glitch sucks agreed.. all you can do is deal with it until the next round of changes ‘fixes’ it.
While I agree that there should be an auto respawn option after enough time has passed for cases where your body is unreachable I cant really say Kholer adds much to your argument. There is absolutly no excuse for anybody to die to kholer as long as you’ve either delt with his 2 buddies or seperated him from them. Heck a tankish build can prety much face tank him as long as his pull move is dodged. your budies could have rezed you there but its entierly possible they decided it wasnt worth the effort if you’d already died to not dodgeing when you should have.
An… An hour?
Oh…
Wow…
Devonas Rest 4 lyfe
I agree there should be a timer to respawn. I had to sit 35-40 minutes dead in lava in Sorrows Embrace path 2 because the group wanted to do a speed run and didn’t leave combat until they reached the final golems.
Make it a 3-5 minutes timer respawn. It prevents zergrushing and doesn’t keep players dead forever.
@most replyers: Ok Ok so i didn’t have a stop watch on me, but not playing is not playing. And there’s no point in a game where you don’t play.
@Merendel: A noob isn’t going to know his tells quite yet how are they to learn? Maybe I like to bring along people new to dungeons rather than just be an elitist. The “side note” would be AFTER YOU KILLED KOHLER, while doing the protect hodgins event and you get stuck behind the door and are thus unreachable.
As for “OK everyone leave combat and let the boss reset so I can re-spawn and actually play the game.” I know I wouldn’t leave combat in that scenario. Maw can be pretty much solo’d.
Also, Jade Maw doesn’t really give the option of having a full party leave combat since you can be hit from anywhere on the final platform.
Even with your various arguments. Not one person has mentioned why a timer would be a bad idea. angan gets it. I mean 5 mins +the run back time should be a rez and not a rez-rush.
I can’t really see problem here. This is only when there are people that just don’t want to ress/help people. I would try to ress the dead one in kholer if the fight would seem to take long but if it seems like it will take like 2-3mins I would just ress after kholer.
In fractals case, I would just ask for if people could help. If they won’t it’s just bad/troll players. And as Maw won’t even reset people could even do this in middle of the fight.
I overall like this new “no wp zerging” thing, but yeah, I wouldn’t mind adding the 5 mins timer in case there is something wrong with party…
Still reading this? You know there is something better to be done for sure. -.-’’

You sound rude and disrespectful. I hope I PuG with you just so you die and are unable to res and enjoy playing the dungeon

Yes a noob is not going to know his exact animation tell. However almost any target with a telegraphed nasty attack shares one common trait. They almost always slowly pull their limb of choice back and start flashing before they do something you probably dont want to stand there and eat in the face, kholer is no exception. I’ve seen mobs even in the starter zones do this and if someone hasnt learned to pick up on that queue by the time they start runing explorable dungeons it really is their fault for dieing. On top of that missing the tell once normally will only down you and your team will revive you. It takes you missing the tell several times in a row befor you go strait to defeated and not learning after the first several times is on the players head. I’ve taken new players in to fight him plenty of times no elietism involved. First time they miss it I say “when he flashes and raises his arm back slowly dodge away to survive that” you know what most of the time the newbies avoid most of the remaining pulls. Its only the bad players that refuse to learn that keep dieing to it (well or the ones with bad connections)
And yes even I’ve been ported through that door before guarding hodgins. It stinks the first time it happens but you learn how to avoid it after the first time or two. Not standing between the burrow and the wall will keep you from porting that way. Additionaly if you kill the burrows in the right order that will be the last one to spawn. Unfortunatly those mini teleports were put in to solve an even nastier issue that was in place when melee destroyed an object. Back at launch if you were too close to something that got destroyed you’d be stuck in the terain till you ported or it respawned. Not an ideal situation but it is what it is.
same as cof 3, it last pretty long with 5 man and think that two man falls lava.
I like the idea of a timer . 5 minutes seems fair.

I was simply trying to keep the thread on topic. Timer for dungeons or not. If you like to PUG with me, go ahead, send me a mail, guest over to borlis pass, and we’ll play together. AC is my most familiar dungeon. I’d love to see you there!
Though I notice you didn’t even provide any input on the topic at hand… you just made a rude comment, and showed no respect for how the forums are expected to work. A bit hypocritical that.

I know the fix and believe me, I appreciate it. I know how to avoid it, but it’s a silly thing to keep track of in the heat of battle Also, it’s the second to last burrow. Don’t forget the one in the “top left” corner behind the racks.
What’s your opinion on a 5 min timer?
I’ve done countless dungeons before this nerf, this new mechanic is just bad, because people will not ress you… they just can’t, wont or don’t want too..and its NOT FUN..
I used to do the odd dungeon but now i actively avoid the crap, all that hassle for some blues and a few tokens seriously gimme a break…
