No way to convert simple agony infusions
The +5 and +7 simple infusions were introduced for budget AR builds. With the recent AR changes this is no longer required as agony infusions can now be socketed in any infusion slot bar the amulet one.
I personally think ANET was generous to allow us to keep the +7 AR, which is usually valued at 3 gold. However I can see why they wouldn’t give you a +7 infusion in exchange as you only spent 300 relics which is ridiculously easy to obtain. I have 4 completed sets of ascended armor and that would have given me 72 gold for a few relics. I think allowing us to keep the infusions and giving us a full refund if we want it more than fair.
Also those were budget infusions and you’re talking about crafting luxury infusions with them.
There is no conversion from “Simple Infusion” orbs into the new “Agony Infusion” orbs for possible upgrades (even though there is a 3 to 1 loss for the extra stat ones)?

What? Why should there be a way to convert simple infusions? They were bought with relics and can be resold for the identical number of relics. A budget build uses simple+7 (I recommend applying them to weapons, since many of us will end up with a lot of extra simples). The remaining slots can be filled with 9 AR (ascended) — if you had AR 150 before, you should be able to break apart a few of the >9AR to achieve this.
The simples are a legacy of the old system and we can still use them in our current builds. We don’t need to upgrade them to reach 150, since we no longer need to build higher than +9.
