I haven’t killed the final boss yet, but my group has come very close to doing so at ~20% several times and I have some idea on how to improve the boss in general. I’ll be sure to explain the reason behind my proposed changes below. Obviously we would all like this fight to be less buggy, but that’s a given. This is feedback for the areas of the fight that are working as intended.

Make the look away eye telegraph centered on the boss model instead of above.
The telegraph graphic is nice, stylized, and visible by itself but where it’s positioned makes it hard to tell what’s going on until it’s too late. When I’m trying to counteract an enemy’s attacks I look at the boss, not at the area above them. Maybe it’s just my time playing FF14 speaking, but they center these kinds of telegraphs in the center of the enemy models and it’s much easier to see. Speaking of…

Make the look away mechanic more punishing to fail.
Everything else in the fractal hits hard and is punishing but not this. I’ve intentionally eaten the hit with stability a couple of times and easily survived. It only hits for about 6k damage which is not enough to down most players with a proper healer to immediately top them off. As for the fear, it doesn’t do anything since players can just use their special action key to jump back in.

Make falling off an instant kill.
I get it. The disappearing platforms combined with all the other mechanics at the same time is a little overwhelming, but we’ll adapt and get used to it like we did for Nightmare CM. People shouldn’t be falling off the platform and getting off scot-free. Other areas of the game kill you for this, why shouldn’t Observatory CM?

Add a delay to the start of the tower phases.
Pretty obvious why. Just a bit of extra time to deal with mechanics going on before the phase starts.

Lower the damage from fully buffed flak from ~9k to ~5k on medium armor classes.
Most of my group’s wipes come from flak and doom/anomaly/green going on at the same time, so I’ll admit this is a little selfish. Take what I have to say on this with a grain of salt. Personally, I feel like flak should punish players for standing in it but not for getting hit by it. 5k unmitigated on medium armor classes gives players ample time to re-position and heal up, downing Eles/Thieves in 3 ticks instead of 2.

I love this challenge mote. It reminds me of the layered mechanics that are used in the ex primals and savage raids of FF14 and presents a challenge that, I suspect, a lot of GW2 players are not quite used to yet. It’s frustrating, rewarding, and just all around fun, so special thanks to the awesome fractal team for this!

Killed the boss just now. I still stand by my feedback, but maybe have the disappearing floor start at 30% instead of 40% when fixed.
