Official stance on fractal exploits?
I thought the bridge only goes down after you’ve killed the start mobs?
There is currently a bug, if you use a jumpskill at the beginning of the ramp, you will respawn on the boss area and trigger the final bossfight.
But I’am pretty sure that this is exactly the thing A-Net sees as an exploit and will not tolerate it. So I wouldn’t recommend it. If you have a farm group the champ and the mobs will only take you 1-2mins to kill, so just kill them.
Would love to see a 2 min clear on 90 or 99…
Thanks in advance.
Tbh, I don’t see why it would be an exploit. The event is labeled as “bonus event”, so it implies that it is not necesssary to finish it.
If Anet doesn’t want people to do this, they have to fix it and remove the “bonus” from it. Banning people for this would be insanely weird.

Really? You don’t see why it would be an exploit? You don’t think that jumping into a pit in a very specific place which then downs you all to skip past a bridge which has not been raised isn’t an exploit?
And what’s this? If you kill the monsters the bridge raises? Oh my! But no. It says bonus event. That means you don’t have to do it. Even though it’s the only legitimate way to raise the bridge.
That’s Like me saying, “Oh no, look at those big scary monsters! Maybe if I kill myself I won’t have to fight them.”
Banning people for this wouldn’t be insanely weird. I think they definitely have the grounds to do it. Especially those who have done hundreds and hundreds of runs. Do I think they will? Probably not. People have gotten away with much worse.

I agree with most of what you said, although your analogy could have been a bit stronger. However, the guy does bring up a good question. Why in the world is it labelled as a bonus event?
If it’s a bonus event, dear Uncle, it’s not mandatory. A simple concept really.

It can be laid out both ways, really and I can see why it would be considered one, I just don’t think it applies. For me, if it’s labeled as bonus, i.e. optional, then I’m allowed to skip it. Pretty simple. The way to do so is kind of sketchy I guess, but there’s been more weird skips in the past which weren’t punished.
Besides, we wouldn’t have these problems if ANet actually decided to work on fractals instead of thinking of the best ways to butcher them while ignoring important bugs and issues which have been haunting fractals for years. The saddest thing not even being the “rework” of fractals but the fact that they added various fixes into the HoT-Release patchnotes with only… 1 or 2 of them actually applying, with the rest of the bugs/issues being exactly like before. I digress, though.
Anyway, if you’re afraid this might get you banned; don’t do it, leave parties where you see someone doing it (not like it’s difficult to spot). In my opinion, this should not be punishable as the event is clearly labeled as “bonus” event and you give up an additional loot chest for killing an enemy that’s not difficult at all and only wastes time on higher scales. You still have to fight the endbosses as intended.
While it might be considered an exploit, I don’t think it should be punished.
It’s not like you get 1k gold or a legendary for free, you can just farm the fractal faster.
There were (and probably still are) many similar glitches for dungeons, and I haven’t heard anyone being banned using them (please correct me if I’m wrong here!)
I think Anet should simply be more careful when designing fractals and dungeons. Like labeling an event a bonus event if it’s supposed to be mandatory. Or ensuring that all necessary steps need to be completed to finish a dungeon/fractal.

“Very specific place”? You literally just jump off of the bridge. There’s nothing specific about it. Molten duo is a boss fight, just like Jade Maw. How is this any different than skipping Jade Maw trash?
Overreact much
Shouldn’t be punished, but it should get fixed.
Fixing and Anet. Deadly Combo, is the world ready for another apocalypse?!
