Orochi Necromancer Lupicus Solo
Retired Until Expansion or Meaningful Content is Released.
From what Ive heard you have a lot more patience than I do, anyways, very good work, many did not think it possible.
Something I want to try some time on my Elementalist.
How do you get there solo, though? Is it possible to just run all the way to Lupicus? Never really been in parties that skipped huge amounts of mobs in there…
Nice work! That leaves only ranger and engy.
Nice work. That is quite an accomplishment.
Ranger should be able to if he goes for signet build for the extra stability from signet of the wild.
The problem is it will be very slow with the pet being a nuisance.
Very nice execution!
WOW! Nerf necro pls. Necro OP
Two rares! Suck on that, kittens!
Great gameplay although I’d probably have suggested at least a second track for your video.
Congratulation. That’s very impressive.
Nicely done bro. Good choice in music too, really added to the epicness in the battle.
You did something wrong, it should have taken at least 2 hours (or so I have heard).
Good job!
Took him about 11 more minutes than an offensive guardian and 15 more minutes than a warrior.
That’s why people don’t take necros or any condition builds.
I’m fairly confident this can be done much faster using a similar utility bar setup and mainhand dagger, but this is still incredibly impressive nonetheless.
Great job – When you got trapped in that bubble near the end, I thought he may have had you – good on you for keeping your cool and showing well rounded player skills. You did great dodging and positioning, and your use of death shroud was (to me) very well done.
I don’t play a necro so I can’t say for certain if anything seemed broken, but to me it looked legit, and it was a fine exhibition of skill. Fantastic!

When he trapped me I was like Oh God Why ME!! Nothing broken with necro if anything we need some love lol, now your turn to solo it with your ranger ;p
BTW Thank you all for the congrats, really appreciate it.

Stuck on phase 3, having a really hard time escaping the bubble when it gets me. I’ll get there soon though!

You should buff the Ranger’s warhorn 5 to give the same boons as the Risen Hunter’s warhorn skill.

Always felt that if the ranger used main hand axe along with sbow it would make p3 significantly easier. Kiting with chill should make circling him less of a pain. Other than that I have no idea. Don’t play a ranger enough to be able to give any class wise tips.

Even if it probably isn’t 100% legit – push him into a wall and stand in his red circe.
No rapidfire and no bubbles making the fight a lot more enjoyable.
Anyway, why is it so hard for me to believe anyone’s doing dungeons with a ranger O.o
Very nice! (15 chrs)

A friend and I have had decent luck in phase 1 and 2 attempting solos on our Rangers, but he seems to really love to YOLO bubble spam dead pets. Even in group settings with our Rangers in melee distance, the only attack he seems to want to do is the bubble and it usually targets our pets.

sounds like that would make soloing him very easy with a ranger as long as you stay at range.
Also I love how every Lupi solo post now consists of 1/2 page of congrats and the rest turning into an “I wonder what’s going to solo him next” kind of thread

Dead pet follows you, Lupi follows pet, Lupi bubbles pet, you get caught in bubble. Recipe for rage quit. It may just be that I don’t play my Ranger well enough, but the bubble spam doesn’t help out at all.

Hard time dodging bubbles as a ranger. . . NICE STORY CAPTAIN 1200 RANGE LEAP!
nice job, very impressive, but boy o boy was that a boring watch. 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 dodge 1-1-1-1. You sir have the patience of a saint.
How do you get there solo, though? Is it possible to just run all the way to Lupicus? Never really been in parties that skipped huge amounts of mobs in there…
Anyone have any input on this?
My friends are casuals for the most part and probably aren’t as interested in watching or doing this as I am, so I’d rather solo it and not waste their time if it’s possible.

Path 2 can be soloed, first 2 bosses are easy. Hardest mob in there apart from Lupi is the Hunter before lupi lol.

Mmm, I saw strategic weapon swapping (abusing that sigil of energy) and healing (abusing those Runes of the adventurer for endurance on heal?) as well as whatever those teleport skills were.
That’s more than just 1-1-1-1 dodge.

Yes i got there by soloing path 2, after practice it only takes an hour to get there solo. If you’re in NA I’m willing to help you get there while you learn what you need to do.
Phase 1 was a lot of spamming 1 and dodging, but that was the fastest phase (3:30mins suprisingly for not a full condition build) So that’s not so bad ;p
I believe a hybrid build would be faster with dagger/focus, scepter/dagger but I didn’t want to take the time to grind another set ;p, besides I was trying not to be too squishy while I figured phase 3.

well i couldnt watch anything after the first stage. I just kinda hopped to see how he dealt with kitten. was still pretty borring tho so slow paced.

Seems boring to you because it’s a solo video where people exploit the boss’s behavior limitations by standing in front of him in melee so that when he does his autoattack bolt it actually never hits you, he will rarely shadowalk to you, etc.
That and high boss HP makes it slow paced. But it’s not these players’ fault. It’s these player’s goals to devise tactics that may net them a kill, regardless of how entertaining the tactic is.
Funny how according to half of the post in here solo GL is like one of the easiest thing to do in the game.

It’s a fight more about knowing the mechanic limitations than difficulty. Fractals are better examples of more multifaceted bosses. It doesn’t detract from the solo, but it’s just a different skillset that is being appreciated here.
Consistency is a mark of great skill, and the better you are at a fight, the easier you make it look. It reminds me of watching speed runs. It looks fairly simple, but the actual execution and especially the length of time required where you absolutely cannot screw up tend to be much more difficult than it seems.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.

Not sure what you are on about.
Yes, bosses with perma retaliation and heavy anti-melee skillsets are great examples of multifaceted bosses.

Thanks, looking forward to trying this some time. This video inspires me, lol.=P
Also, congrats on achieving the kill. Forgot that in my first post.

Go rangers go, at least useful somewhere.
Ohwait, even in ranged fight they suck

The key is to survive. Rangers are survivors. I will try this very soon-likely this weekend. Work and stuff, all that “IRL”, gets in the way. I expect success but we shall see. I’m not in a race to be first (I haven’t even tried yet) but I remain confident that it can be done.

GL with that. I have a feeling that even with more melee evades and 50% more endurance regen, using a ranger is going to be more difficult than a necro as the weapon evades does not make u invulnerable to everything because of the very limited window of evasion on the ranger skills.

Thanks, Khal, I’ll take all the luck I can get. Hopefully planning and skill gets me the other 90% of the way.
I think it should be easier with a ranger than a necro since you guys have access to endurance regeneration. Here’s a hint though, Axe #5 reflects projectiles. Only problem is bubble but that’s up to you to figure out.
Retired Until Expansion or Meaningful Content is Released.
I’m pretty sure Axe 5 won’t work well on Lupicus AoE in Phase 2. For Phase 3 it should, though.
You don’t need to figure out how to deal with necrid trap, just stay in one spot and don’t move (which is basically what Zogyark did). He only had elite with 180s recharge and a wurm. Rangers have similiar elite plus evade with lightning reflexes which timed correctly will make you evade that skill. Let your pets die in phase 1 (kick or two from lupi should kill them). Problem starts when you start moving and he uses necrid trap 3-4 times in a succession. Not every proffesion is able to survive that kind of offense.

This is good advice, thank you. In the past, when I’ve played lupi, the bubble seemed to pull me in even if I thought I evaded…was that just bad timing on my part? I might as well make sure I understand the necrid trap mechanic so I can factor it in properly on my first run. That’s one less time I’ll be sent on a jog back to phase 1 (lol).
It will pull you back after using lightning reflexes if you wont get enough distance from him. It’s similiar when using teleportation skill when he’s activating it – if you teleport in his range before necrid trap is being casted it will still entrap you.
But this is a bit offtopic called "I wonder what’s going to solo him next”.

Yes, let’s all stay focused on congratulating. I have a way of derailing topics like nobody else
congrats again!
Yeah sorry about that. This is fantastic work, no doubt. I really like how you dive in and dive out, I think that rhythm worked great for the times you used it.
