PUG Dungeon tips
A “pug” who manages to go the forums and READ? that alone solves 80% of the problem :p
TA: thief for stealth, guardian for lawn mowing and aegis. Reflects make the wurm in the beginning easier to deal with.
I might be forgetting about a wurm, but do you mean the nightmare vines at the beginning of both paths? Just wanted to point out that their projectiles are, unfortunately, not reflectable :-( I’ve tried. I wish they were.

I’m almost sure that their projectiles are reflectible, but you wont avoid getting damage from the small red circles, but if you reflect you can see that the goo they throw at you gets reflected.
I dont know if you keep reflects up you get less small red circles though.
99% sure that reflects do nothing against the nightmare vine projectiles in TA. Untraited wardens block them but the wardens get 1-shot by the melee attack so are unreliable.
Best is to avoid the projectiles by movement. If your PUG dies just solo it. You can always kill the silver mobs to reduce pressure.

just tested it. you can’t reflect or block(soa, shelter) the projectiles with guardian skills. And I sincerely doubt that you can reflect or block them at all.
edit: draconx is right. untraited wardens seem to work

Ah, that’s what I thought, just wanted to clear it up.
Anyway —
Good post :-)
Okay I fixed it. I should’ve put thief for arah skipping. W/e
for arah it’s probably better to run with the class you’re most comfortable on. just solo lupi if your pugs die. that said, reflects are very nice to have against a number of the bosses and eye turrets, but not completely necessary.
I think a better suggestion is how would you adapt to a less-than-ideal group of pugs?
In almost all of these dungeons, stability + reflecting projectiles are often the most important for maintaining DPS and mitigating damage. So if there’s no guards, you shall be that guy who will bring a guardian or mesmer to the party.
