How is it possible, that after over a year of people complaining about this abusive system. It is still possible to kick players with only 2 people. And not being able to report abusive people kicking at the last boss/fractal.

I see it like every day, that a group member of mine party (me or another person) gets kicked at the last fractal/boss. Just to make room for a guildy/friend.
This makes playing dungeons and fractals so incredible toxic. I don’t even dare to join 4 french/4 german players in fractals (or 4 people of the same guild for that matter). Cause I just waste over an hour on that team, just to get kicked for a friend of theirs at the end.

We need the fixes on 2 party member kicking and kicking in dungeons/fractals after a specific moment of time (~20 minutes?).

I completely agree that there should be something done about these matters, I’m afraid to join certain teams aswell, it actually has kept me from pugging Fractals for about a month, close to two now, and dread when I see people from the same guild or even 2 friends, simply because it I have seen the abuse too often. With uncertain playtimes and schedules I find it a difficult task to find the right guild for me aswell.

Whole groups starting to ‘rotate’ people after the second Fractal because they felt a more optimal team was needed, which could often be judged beforehand or at the very least after the first Fractal. Same in Dungeons where I’ve even seen people kick just because they didn’t like someone’s attitude, and I’m not talking about absolute kittens, I’m talking about decent people who didn’t stroke someone’s ego enough. Or the worst… People kick to sell the spots, which I try to report, I highly doubt that does anything. I must admit I’ve grieved back a few times by joining their sale with a buddy and quickly kick the opener, which once again shows how easy it is to abuse this system.

Sadly, I’ve yet to see a game where this isn’t in some way an issue. Especially when we’re talking groups where you’re the 5th and the others are all guildies. Luckily my experience is limited so there might be hope.

The whole system could use a bit of polishing in my opinion: Instance owner leaves = everyone’s time wasted, issues when someone grieves or decides to leech the last 2 fractals since ‘you can’t kick me anyway, I opened.’ Sometimes you kick someone and they get to stay in the instance, preventing a 5th from joining. (Only seen this at the start of Dungeons though, so re-opening is still an option.) Problem is; how?

Yes, increase the number of votes required to 4. This will still not solve the issue of 4 man guild teams kicking the random out at the end of a run to get someone else in but hey, you as a player should be smart enough to understand the risk that comes with joining such a team. 9 out of 10 times, as long as you’re friendly and interact with them throughout the run, you will not get kicked.

One more thread about this. But I understand that they have to do something against this system. Anyway, I play since beta and early access and run dungeons pretty often. I’ve been kicked 3 times, 1x for selling (Arah) 1x for a friend, 1x I might have deserved it, but 2 people from the group pm’d me the kickers name and said I should report him (you can’t?) which makes me doubt I really deserved it, I simply asked if he could stop bashing our second Elementalist because he was doing alright. Ironicly they didn’t kick me instantly, but nicely waited for me to collect all Scepter pieces, because apprently no-one else could be bothered, which felt a bit like a slap in the face, if you’re going to kick, kick straight away. Then again, the Arah-sellers I grieved with the help of a friend, making me no better and the 3rd one karma hit in because I got an amazing full run group after, that managed to finish p1 before the old group and I had a lovely chat about builds, gear and Elementalist in general from the other Elementalist from the first group.

3 times isn’t much, but I do see people get kicked for the silliest reasons. Everytime I see someone get kicked I feel guilty and for about a week I don’t dare to say anything more than “Hi” “Thank you for the run” in other groups. And quite a few of my friends who play in different hours than I do mention they don’t feel like doing Fractals at all, considering how often they see abuse from the system. And let’s be realistic, 90% of the time you can see if a group is capable of finishing the Fractal or not. Kicking at the 4th Fractal is a tad ridicilous. And no-one in their right mind should want to ‘carry’ a friend up to the rewards/levels, if you want them to get on your fractal-level to play together, you want them to become experienced aswell, right?

TL;DR:
Anyway, all I’d like to see is a threat towards people who kick to sell (just making it reportable could make a difference.) And in groups of 5, why not make it 3 out of 5 votes to kick before the person gets kicked. Minor changes and it won’t stop everyone, but it might discourage certain people and tone down their behaviour.

Bumping this for more attention. This system is completely abused and I’m sick of it. You spend lengthy amounts of time in dungeons just to be kicked over stupid things that really don’t make sense. Today I was kicked from Arah completely out of the blue at lupicus just because i didn’t warbanner in time when one person was down and the rest of the party was dead. Like…. I’m sorry if you suck so much that you can’t stay alive but why take it out on someone else?

Sure you got kicked ? For me this sounds more like an instance owner ragequitting…

But this doesnt changes the topic, once i had a pug group in cof with a slightly unexperienced guardian… after a while another player started to call him MONGO and yelled at him, sadly the guy was together with two other guild members so my attempt to kick him after the half dungeon was answered with a re inv from his friends… at the final encounter they kicked him and invited an guildie… which made me leaving the group- as the instance owner… i will rather run a dungeon again, then allowing that to happen…

Requiring 3+ people to kick would make creating parties with requirements too much of a hassle to bother with it. Im sure some people would like that. Id stop playing if that happens, avoiding the clueless, trolls and dumbs is already too exhausting enough with the party controls we have now.

I have to agree whit you, while increasing the amount of people needed for a vote kick would solve some issues, it would create a slew of other problems.

You have to realize that the party kick system is the way that it is because it was the easiest way to implement it. It doesn’t require any “voting”. It is an initiate → confirm system, similar to when your computer pops up that box that says “Do you really want to delete that file?” The server doesn’t have to keep track of anything. It just responds to the kick initiation by telling the clients that a kick has been initiated and then responds to the first kick confirm with the kick. No timers needed. Don’t care if any people chose “no”. Don’t even need to remember that a kick was started. I bet you could hack the client to issue kick confirmations without receiving a kick initiation first and the server would do kicks with 1 vote.

A possible solution: The person getting kicked doesn’t leave the dungeon, but instead spawns into a new instance of the dungeon. At the last checkpoint achieved by the group.

From the perspective the person kicked it would be as if the other 4 players left group, and they teleport to the respawn point (If they were engaged in combat with a boss the boss is also reset to 100% health).

Ergo the person kicked wouldn’t lose that much in progression and their time spent. They could at this point just form a new party.

I can think of exploits such as the group getting to the last boss then splinting into different groups to sell the run. I’m not sure this would be a huge problem or what a cure for this would be.

But I think the idea presented here is reasonably fair for the kick-ee.

yup just had this too i got kicked for no reason i ran a dungeon (ac p3) with 4 members of the same guild one was even lvl 28

we got to the end boss pretty smooth but when the end boss was like 50% health they just kicked me for no reason

this is getting annoying and if anet is not going to do something about it. i can see this megaserver thing failing even harder. i mean i played from launch never had any issues now this megaserver things launches and i have been kicked like 4 times already for no reasons this is getting bored and annoying. game breaking if you ask me

Thanks for echoing the problem which I identified in my own post. So helpful.
I brought it up for a discussion; not to sneak it under the radar.

Maybe it isn’t even a problem. Maybe all those Arah dungeon runs would drop from 6-8 gold to 1 gold if everyone can become an instance owner.

I do think my suggestion has some merit; but with flaws. Discus.

yea the same thing happened to me twice. Got kicked from the beginning of 4th fractal by a guild grp. they just kick me and the other pug so they could invite their friends for the rewards. i was so mad i filed a support ticket and support staff just told me he feel srry for what happened and they will improve the lfg system blah blah blah… another time was we had 3 light classes doing lv49 fractal and we posted on lfg looking for HEAVY only. 2 necro joined and we told them we need heavies and they just vote kick everyone and eventually kicked the host and disbanded the party which is just kittening kittened. I mean how can you vote kick the host and boot everyone from the instance this is just stupid design flaw when they cant transfer the host in the dungeon. How hard is it to just disable the vote kick function on the host if u cant get the instance transfer to work properly. sigh

So, for now the only solution is to HOST your own dungeon run and if u must join a pug make sure you are not in a guild group or people from the same server(they could be friends playing together. god i know i sounds paranoid).

It wouldn’t even be about selling anymore then… just pick a path with the easiest last boss, form a party of 5, go to the last boss, kick 1 guy, 4 man the last boss, collect 26s + other stuff, leave dungeon, invite kicked guy back into party, enter instance, kick 1 guy, finish last boss, etc etc etc. Basically an infinite loop of rewards.
