Seriously there’s very little harm since we can’t trade them and we can only equip 1 of the same ring at a time. If the stats are as insignificant as so many have claim to be then it shouldn’t cause any balance issues. The upside is at least some of us can move on to higher levels and not be forced to rerun the same lower levels over and over again. Currently it is very possible to get stuck, may it 20 or whatever number people are on. The grind is borderline insane. Does anet really want people to get stuck until the next big patch? I can’t imagine changing the drop rate to be any more difficult than changing few numerical values.

Sometimes I also wonder if the item department folks even try to play the game normally like the rest of us. Are folks in Anet just giving themselves free items whenever they need something?

Would be nice if the game gave you a ring when you first encounter lvl 10, 20, 30, etc., the RNG being what type of ring you get; with additional ring drops from dailies afterwards being RNG like now…. I think the rings need to remain somewhat RNG so players aren’t swimming in them, but at the same time they need to have some consistent drop at times so that players aren’t totally blocked from being able to progress.

I’d rather get a way to choose the stats I want on the ring instead of getting the crappy mixed stats one again and again :/

What’s wrong with people swimming in them? We can’t even trade them on tp. Eventually people would just have to sell them to the merchants.

At least not getting the stats that you want doesn’t gate you from moving forward. Right now we need a pink item to get an infusion. If I could infuse something that I currently have (eg exotic rings) then I have no need for more pink rings to drop in order to move forward.

Try looting only crap stats offensive infusion slot rings and we’ll talk about moving forward :p 225 fractal token the infusion to put in a ring you don’t want to go forward?

I was only talking about the baseline stats and not the infusion type. But yes, we do need the infusion type that we need to move forward. But no, we aren’t gated by the baseline stats that we want.

I don’t even care about the stats on the rings at this point. I would equip rings with 0 stats and just agony resist because that’s all I really need.

right now the rings have already made most exotic rings obsolete.
Any ascended ring that has the same or similar stats to an exotic one, is better. Level 10 FotM is NOT hard at all to do daily, even with as few as 3 people.
By increasing the chance of those rings, Anet will just throw more fuel to the fire that’s burning away any integrity they hold.

My point is:
Higher chance for ascended rings -> Exotic ring values plummet.

I’d appreciate actually get a chest with a chest to get my ring from the daily, done 10,12,14 today and not a single daily done. Given up for the night now and will try again tomorrow but sure is annoying having your daily chance taken away from you for no reason.

Had not done any fractals at all for 36 hours, so it was not even a time issue. Only one other player in the party had the same issue, three others got theirs fine.

Oh well, really is a failure of a loot system at the moment, random and half working. Can’t wait for the fix, because I actually like the fractals.

This would be really nice because my group is up to Fractal lvl 19 and still no ring whereas my one guildy who shall remain nameless has 3 rings while the rest are suffering in our group so at least 1 for sure ring would be nice for just a little resistance. As was mentioned by the OP since they are Account Bound it’s not like it’s a huge deal and the type of ring you get is still up to RNG.

Obviously I like the fixes that you guys are proposing. But your suggested fixes will take time, and how much longer do we have to wait before we can make progress? Increasing the drop rate is the most obvious and trivial solution to implement. As far as exotic ring value is concerned, it’s expected to plummet in the future as well when ascended rings are introduced else where. Anet made the decision to have a higher tier than exotic rings, hence the value of exotic rings would have to readjust to reflect that decision. The only debate is really how much should exotic ring value plummet and how fast.

Just to be clear, my intention is asking for a simple band aid that can be implemented right away so people can continue to make progress. They are probably working on something to address this. But how much longer do we really have to wait? I don’t know where most people’s patience are at, but if they are not close to releasing a real fix, then at least give us a band aid solution to run with.

I would like to add that i’m on day 9 of no rings on 10/20/30 dailies. That is in fact 27 runs of not having a ring drop. I’m pretty disgusted at this fact. I am in the dungeons for the rings, and not a single one, no matter how poorly the stats are allocated has dropped.

Same here, I never get a ring drop.

On the bright side, I for one thank anet for exposing how unlucky I am
