I am tired of lfg boards and groups not wanting a ranger and other classes as well. My ranger is level 31 my other toons are level 1. Let me run warrior or mesmer at 31 so I can find a group since all classes are apparently not equal!

You can currently do F31 on any character – its just your AR limiting you.

Just don’t tell the group your reward level.

It doesn’t matter what class you are running as long as you have the AR and know how to run it in fractals.

The only issue here is reward, your alts will not reap the rewards of your ranger – this is entirely intended. Given that awards for fractal dailies are character bound as well this is a fair tradeoff.

I know it sucks to level all your other characters to F30 but understand it forces you to learn a professions place in fractals. And Yes certain professions are better at certain fractals (I personally have seen many “non-ideal” / non-wwwgg groups do well with a mix of ele engi thief ranger and necro) but thats a given with refects and mass blocks only available to 3 or 4 professions and being sheer hp/invuln tanky limited to 3-4 professions as well.

Imagine 3 or more rangers at Jade Maw. I was in a party with 2 and it delayed for a few extra unnecessary minutes. Even more funny I was in a party with just 1 ranger and the maw keep attacking the bear pet which keep rezzing until he ran out and stowed it

Nope, rings and relics are account bound, rings are account bound until equipped. You can have good enough gear and AR with your alts that way. So there is no real reason to have fractal being character bound, not account bound. Except more grind.

And Jade Maw attacking ranger pet / mesmer illusions / necro pets / (anything else?)
is a bug or bad design and should be changed IMO.

I don’t agree with your reasoning, as a player with 6 characters on my account changing fractals to account bound on progress and rewards would be horrible.

Fractals are not limited except the hard cap at lvl 40 – I just meant for drops or rewards – a lvl 1 fractal alt will not get a lvl 10 fractal reward for doing level 10. I don’t feel that leveling alts is a huge deal – it would be much more of a grind to only get 1 daily per 10 levels per account than 1 daily per 10 levels per toon.

I do agree that Maw targeting non player allies is bad (you forgot turrets). I’d advocate fixing that before gimping multiple alt players.

I have 25 AR and do fine in the dungeons but look at gw2lfg.com half the post say warrior/guardian/mesmer only or no ranger/ thief. When your class is listed as not wanted it doesn’t matter how much AR or skill, the groups don’t want your class. I know some people will say make your own groups or run same groups, but the point is every class should have a role and make them a desirable in dungeons not a place holder because they settled for your class. otherwise let me run the desired class and get the same rewards.

I think Personal Reward Level itself should be removed from the game. You should be rewarded based on beating the content, not based on how many times you’ve played it previously.

That or account bound the level. I would like to experience fractals with my 3 fully geared alts but the reward and effort ratio doesn’t make me wanna level em all to lvl 30+.

Engis dont run turrets at lvl 80 nowadays unless u want the net turret for CC. Even then, turrets can be exploded at will.

There will be so many implications and this may create a great impact if the fractal progress will be changed to an account-wide progress.

How would you feel if you have exerted too much effort in getting your characters to high-level FOTM and suddenly there was a change to make the progress account-wide?

How would you feel if you are stripped of more chances for fractal rewards just because you can only do a few dailies (tier-based dailies), instead of multiple dailies (separate dailies for each toon you have)?

I believe we should look into the Pros and Cons, and not just on the advantages.

Similarly make story mode completion for dungeons account wide as well.

Did AC on my ele but can’t open explorable AC on my thief, same for CoF and the opposite for other dungeons.

By all means go ahead, make dailies account bound too if you have to. I’m not about to run through all my alts for dailies anyway. I am just bored of doing the same thing on the same class, and I feel I shouldn’t get punished for trying to do it on another, geared and ready class. Part of making this game last for me, is doing the same content on different classes and I believe that should give the same reward. I’ve already done it more than enough times on my guardian main and it’s become boring and actually not fun at all.

stop being lazy and get up n fractal lvls with the warrior?

Off topic note, Maw targeting pets and rangers is useful for low level newbie parties. This helps by them some time. Beyond that, it just prolongs the event. I will summon my wolf and drop a turret if the party I am with keeps going down due to not enough AR and I need a little pressure relief. Otherwise, speed it up!

On topic, I do not agree with the account bound fractal levels. My opinion though.

I understand it gets boring running the same content on Alts, but nobody if forcing you to do that. If you only want to do the content once, only do it once. If you find it interesting, run it on multiple Alts and level them up like you do your main.

I want to do Fractal’s on my Thief, but my Thief is only lvl 2 which means I cannot do my lvl 20 & 30 dailies without having to grind. My mesmer is almost lvl 80 as well.

So right now I just do it on my Guardian.

Possibly because if you get to 30+ with for example a warrior, doesn t mean you will be as efficient if Tomorrow you start a mesmer.

Different profession/builds/weaponsets require experience….and if there is a thing i learned is fotm players too often goes to level they are not ready for.

When i was lvl 31 on ele, i gladly started from lvl 1 with my new mesmer….i needed it to learn how to use the class properly in fotm…infact i m curretnly at 24 and not confident to go farther even after a month.

Its a pity i am the 1% doing so.

How would people feel about a precursor scavenger hunt? I had to pay kittenloads for my legendary, but when it kicks in it will be good for people.

Why do you feel entitled to make others suffer because bad game design made YOU suffer? The idea is to make things better for everybody in the future.

If you need to repeat multiple fractal dailies for multiple reward chances, then the problem is with the RNG scheme, not with making account wide progress. They could even make rewards character bound, just like you can wait 2 hours and do an explorable path again on a different character and get 60 tokens again.

Same here, I’d love to run it on my alts, but have to stick to my main to get the right reward. I understand that may be problematic on higher lvls, but isn’t AR already there to act as a gate keeper ?

I don’t understand why we have to grind the same content we already cleared on another char. Same goes for story mode being character specific. Always fun to have a bunch of players wearing fancy dungeon exotics that can’t launch exp. mode for the life of them because none had cleared story mode with this particular toon.
