Please return Underworld and FoW to GW2
Because the gods left tyria it makes sense as to why the access to the underworld was cut off, though i wouldnt mind seeing actual encounters similar to it.
The godly exodus was long before GW1
Then why could we interact with them in gw1?
We interacted with their avatars. Prophecies takes place 1072 AE (after exodus). Timeline for reference:
I would love UW and FoW Raids that would be great, SO LONG, as like the current raids they make it so when you beat boss one it remains beaten if you log out and that you can move onto boss two when you next log on. And is only reset weekly.
While I do think certain things in raids are lacking or could be better implemented that one feature is a fantastic choice for raids for those that don’t have 3 – 4 hours to sit and do the whole raid in one go.
FoW and UW were originally some maybe 5 hour elite maps which kicked you out of the instance when your team wiped. I think you cannot recreate this for GW2.
But it was an important factor of these areas.
It forced you to be careful when luring enemies. To avoid aggroing two groups. You had to position yourself in an open field, to protect your backline, manage your deathpenalty etc.
Both maps were not designed for a small amount of enemies/bossfights, they were designed for teamfights. For fighting a team of trashmobs and avoid the other two enemy teams which were patrolling into your battlefield. I don’t think that such a design would be a good idea in GW2. It would only be a map full of trashmobs.
Maybe Anet could create a similiar looking area. But thats it. It will be something completly different.
See Sorrow’s Furnace or SE. GW2 has completly different gameplay mechanics.
I don’t think its worth it. It’s only about a similar setting.

Most clever groups had the Monk ready to run if it looked like it was gonna go bad. I wouldn’t say its impossible to recreate this. I think it would be very easy to recreate it with the Guild Wars 2 flair.
Making FoW or UW into a raid would very seriously be do-able as that is what a raid is a team fight.
Aggro’ing Mobs should always be carefully done. And would work in GW’s 2 as well.
Most of the enemies in UW or FoW were trash mobs and could be easily killed.
I think it would be totally worth it.

All enemies, except dhuum – which was added years later. GW2 has a completly different combat system which makes trashmobs fights usually quite boring.
I doubt that a map full of trashmobs would be able to recreate the GW1 FoW/UW feeling.

Well some other mobs could catch you out if you weren’t ready for them as well I guess in UW.
Think about dungeons or the story from Vanilla GW’s 2. Lots of trash mobs in those and if you had a full party they scale up. Sure they weren’t hard but if you weren’t ready for them or didn’t kill them fast enough they could pose a threat. No problem to scale trash mobs up and give them different skill sets.
The more I think about it the more I DROOL over it and the MORE I want it.
I know that GW1 trashmobs could be quite challenging. They caused many wipes.
GW2 trashmobs are different.
You would have to bring back a trinity system, remove most aoe attacks, remove all aoe buffs and turn them to singletarget buffs.
If you don’t players will find a way to stack the enemies, will perma blind them/stun them/whatever. It will only be a open world map with a limited amount of players. Form a team of 5 players and search for an empty HoT map. Thats what we would get as a UW/FoW Map.

Well they have kinda brought back the trinity with HoT raids. So thats not a problem really.
It’s not impossible to make Mobs push you with skills out of Stacks.
And Raids are 10 man so all good
If they introduced UW or FoW again, most people would just moan about how it isn’t the “proper” version. If you want to play UW or FoW, go play gw1 again.
you’re absolutely right, that is the reason that people stop playing gw2, preferring to play something else, many faithful people gw2 still believe that their requests are heard, that someday return Cantha, or uw, Elona, it’s funny as you can get clothes balthazar but not play fow, or put clothes Grenth a Charr, Norn, Sylvarin or Asura, according, gw2 is a changing world, as well as the Gods left the same way they can return, but … as you say better play anything but gw2
