Is it possible to loot a precurser for a legendary from either mobs in a dungeon or the chests in dungeons? Or are they only available from open world and WvW mobs/players?

I’ve heard its possible from both mobs and chests in dungeons. But all i do is dungeons, i do anywhere from 10 to 30+ a day and i’ve never been in a group where someone has gotten one.

Only ever seen one drop, 26 fotm on maw trash mob, it was leaf of kudzu for some random pug in the team. In my many many many many dungeon runs, I would say that this is not a viable option when it comes to trying to get a precursor :P

My guild leader recently got Storm from a dungeon chest in Arah. I’ve also seen party members get precursors from CoF p1 farming runs. So yes, if it’s possible to drop a level 80 exotic, it’s also possible to drop a precursor.

Ive heard rumors of them being dropped from FoTM, CoF and Arah. I’ve never known anyone to have one drop in a dungeon, but then again I’ve never known anyone who has had one drop. I’ve known plenty who have purchased them from the Trading post.

Since precursors simply are regular exotics with an additional use they can drop from all enemies/chests that drop loot. The drop rate’s just small.
