Pristine Fractal Relics
if you get 10 you can trade them for a none infused ascended rings of your choice. Its from same trader that trades infusions inside the dungeon.
Ah nice, thank you. So I assume the only way to get infused rings is still RNG?
Also wish we could trade in rings as well. Maybe have a ring hold the same trade-in value as a Pristine Fractal Relic.
You can infuse an uninfused ring in the forge with fractal mats. I guess that means it’s still RNG, but you’ll probably have the materials you need by the time you need an infused ring.
Oh man, guess I need to pay more attention to this stuff. I already have one infused ring for +10 total agony resistance with the infusion slot. Then six or so non-infused, I didn’t realize I could add inherent infusions to be able to get +10 on those too.
Well this is good news indeed. So now I can buy the perfect rings for myself, infuse it in the MF, then add an infusion upgrade. So I’ll no longer have to carry my Fractal rings and ‘everything else rings’. Thanks again!
One more question. What tier fractals can Pristine Fractal Relics be obtained? It’d be nice if I got them when I’m helping guildies with low level fractals as well.

You get them starting at 10.

You get one Pristine Relic per Daily Chest Per Character for Fractals 10 and up. So you can get (realisticly) 3 per character per day by running Level 10, 26 and 30.
Also keep in mind that the rings are Unique, meaning you can only equip only of that ring. However, you can equip two of the same ring if one ring is the non-infused version and the other is the infused version.
For example, I can equip a Crystalline Band and Red Ring of Death. But I cannot equip two non-infused Crystalline Bands. Strangely enough, I can equip a non-infused Crystalline Band and an infused Crystalline Band. I think the latter is an anomaly and would probably expect that to be “fixed” at some point.
In regards to obtaining Pristine Fractal Relics, you can get those in the daily chest after level 10.

Well that is somewhat distressing, hopefully that will be changed. If not I wee there are still some rings that would still be good for me, just not optimal.
Looking at the Mystic Forge infusions has led me to yet another question. I see there is a recipe for a defensive and offensive infusion slot on one ring. Does this mean I can put an inherent +5 Agony Resistance on the ring then add the defensive and offensive infusion slot for another +10 AR, giving the item a total of +15 AR?
A ring can only have one infusion slot, either defensive or offensive, not both. However, it does stack with any built-in infusions, meaning you benefit from both the inherent +5 AR, plus any addition AR from the infusion slot.

Dulfy’s page on Ascended has this recipe.
" Versatile Precise Infusion (both offensive and defensive slots)
100 Philosopher Stones , 50 Mystic Coin, 100 Passion Flowers, 250 Vicious Claw? "
What will adding this Infusion do to the ring?
A Versatile Infusion of any stat allows you to place that in any infusion slot, regardless if the slot is defensive or offensive. However, they are also require more materials to make them.
For example: Precise Infusion versus Versatile Precise Infusion
The Precise Infusion requires more easily accessible Passion Fruits instead of Passion Flowers, 100 Claws instead of 250, 20 Coins instead of 50, and 50 Philo stones instead of 100. Economically speaking, if you focus on specific stats, you should create a slot-specific Infusion for one ring and a Versatile Infusion for the other ring.
