So I’m about to hit my first 80 but the point is I’m new. I’ve only done CM story and AC story. If a new player came into your lfg would you mind teaching them? It’s just a question I’m not asking you to do it. I’m kinda nervous about being a burden to the group. Personally I don’t care if a new person joins as long as they listen to directions. Also what kind of gear and stats for an ele? I know how to might stack with s/d and I know that LH and FGS is good.

Most people don’t care as long as you let them know you’re new. The worst is when new people try to follow along and pretend to be experienced, then they end up costing the group a wipe. That especially annoys me if it’s been asked if anyone is new and no one speaks up.

Just join groups that don’t have an experienced prerequisite in the lfg.

This. When you first join just be open about the fact that you haven’t done it. If they don’t want someone inexperienced just move on to the next group. A lot of groups are happy to explain stuff if you just let them know you need it.

Most dungeons requires that you know where to stack and line of sight the mobs, you can do that by just following the group. You can only mess up with the group if you walk away from the stack on spider queen in AC or start knocking back the mobs when people are trying to stack, but that knockback problem is more common to happen with longbow rangers, i really hate when i’m fighting Malrona in TA up with my guardian and a ranger interrupts the boss just when i place the wall of reflection to use against her aoe.

Other than that you may find some difficult in skipping enemies in dungeons, but i think not many paths have hard skipping parts, i think only in Arah and TA foward you find OP trash mobs.

Then, for gear… People will say go full berserker, but for an elementalist its quite difficult to stay alive when you dont know the enviroment, so maybe if you use 2 or 3 pieces of soldier gear and the rest all berserker that may help.

I have an elementalist that is my only class that doesnt use the full glass cannon meta build, i put 20 points in water and sometimes i swap the chest and pants with soldier gear to make it easier, but i’m bad at playing ele.

Watch the runs on youtube. Watch them several times. Most of them have a narrator that tells you what to watch out for. Unfortunately not many are from the perspective of a good ele, most were made when it was war/guar/mes or get kicked era.

I personally teach the farmable runs to my guild all the time, and I am always willing to teach randoms who speak up about being new.

Its sometimes pretty hard to get good build advice, lots of old/bad/misleading stuff out there. Looks like you have the right idea at least. Look for the dps meta builds, and anything that says its amazing support/heals/tank ignore.

As an ele, many groups will rely on you to stack might and fury, it helps to have the guardian help with fire fields as well. Also supplying the right conjures for the right encounters can make a huge difference. I like having a good ele in any dungeon.

I will second what Casmurro.9046 linked. This is a guide from Dkeys (2 chaos) who is a very experienced dungeon farmer. She also has other guides I would suggest watching if you were interested in playing Lightning Hammer or Staff Ele if your group already has a lightning hammer Ele.

A victor gives no quarter when the victor shows no clemency or mercy
and refuses to spare the life in return for the surrender at discretion (unconditional surrender)
of a vanquished opponent.
