I usually run AC with my ranger, using short/long bow combo. During Path 1, when destroying the graveling burrows, it is still a huge pain to target said burrows. I was hoping that the recent update would fix this issue, getting nothing but “out of range” or “obstructed” messages, but alas.. it ain’t so :/
And no, I am not too far, and I do have a clear line of sight to my target, cause I do hit the gravelings, just not thew burrow.
Yes, I know I might have better luck with melee weapons, not the point though..
The point is, that while new content IS great, and changing up the dungeon a bit is also great.. I really wish ANET would fix known issues/bugs as well..

On a sidenote, at the end of Path 3, Warmaster what’s-his-name failed to put up the bubble like 3-4 times, causing pretty much instant party wipes. The new boss mechanism is neat, but between the 2 NPCs they got about 1/2 a brain.. I hope their script gets fixed soon.

I don’t get all the people complaining about no bubble from Grast. All that does is make the fight the same as before, but with Rumblus having less HP. Just don’t get hit in the head. If the bubble does go up, use it, otherwise, stay out of red circles.

The red circles form a blanket across the entire floor, often overlapping with each other. The chances of you finding somewhere safe to stand (other than that one ledge where no circles ever form) are extremely slim.

If everybody’s flittering around like delicate little glass cannon butterflies and letting Grast facetank, then yeah, you’re playing the RNG game and Grast might take a knockback melee at an inopportune moment. There’s alot of other options that end up panning out better; coordinating stuns, granting Grast Stability, or having somebody get in the boss’s face and positions themselves so the Boss is pointing away from Grast.

Frankly, I wish more boss encounters were designed so that control and support actions were more relevant like this.

The tab target is the worst. It always prioritize innocent mobs far far away even out of sight than some kitten who is in my face melee me. Please get this fixed.

Really? So simple?

When Rumbulus starts his “collapse the ceiling” move, it affects ENTIRE area (minus few safe spots that are likely not intended). Overlapping circles everywhere, in several successive waves. Good luck dodging. If you stand far enough not to be affected, it’s likely also far enough for him to reset. Basically it’s bubble or death. And doing stuff to protect Grast doesn’t always work, because sometimes he will “forget” to put the bubble even if he’s perfectly healthy. He just decides he should AA Rumbulus instead. Bam, instant wipe. If this is a bug, it really should be intercepted before patch went live (I mean, it’s not like it happens once in a 1000 runs) and if it’s by design, well… I’d say it’s a really, really bad design.

Don’t take me wrong, I understand and approve many of the changes to AC. I don’t like some of them simply because I think challenge should come from “general skill check” (like new spider queen), not from forced “mechanics” that double the difficulty just because you don’t have voice comm software (like the new Ghost Eater), but I understand that’s just my preference. This said, some of the “improvements” are actually detrimental to general experience: “defend Hodgins” scenario now is just frustrating and boring without strong DPS team, Kohler was already skipped by 80% parties (at least that’s my personal statistic, I never object to fighting him) and buffing him will only strengthen the trend, not fixing old and known bugs (burrow targeting, wall in Hodgins room) is just inexcusable, and Rumbulus is totally broken IMO.

On a side note, what exactly was wrong with old Rumbulus? Other bosses I understand, Ghost Eater used to be a joke and Howling King was just a watered down version of Rumbulus. But Rumbulus seemed the most challenging and most “complete” boss of the old AC, I really don’t think he needed any sort of fix.
