So I’m new to raids and about 12 hours exp in Escort and W4 overall. A recent group pointed out I had too much toughness on a Deimos run.

I was running a PS warrior with around 1400 toughness, and I believe a chrono tank was on flak, and rev on main tank. Things were going smoothly until half the group started to wipe at 50% and I instinctively started rezzing. Long story short, they wanted me to be at least under 1200 toughness or none at all. They sighed/laughed at me while I apologized and was removed.

After digging around I didn’t realize toughness was the main factor for boss aggro, and thought 1400 was pretty measly still. I know the tactics trait line “determined revival” auto improves toughness while rezzing. Does that mean I will start pulling aggro at that point?

TLDR; Is 1400 toughness too much for PS Warrior and will I start pulling aggro if I rez?

If the tank is running less than 1801 toughness you will pull aggro if you attempt to rezz someone with your current build as the 400 toughness from Determined Revival will put you above many tanks.

The most common PS warrior build runs 1000 toughness, complete berserker stats.

Wait a minute. Do you have 1400 toughness while reviving someone (due to the trait Determined Revival), or do you have ~1400 BASE toughness, putting you at 1800 when reviving?
If you have 400 extra toughness from your build, you probably have bad gear and should switch ASAP. Raids in PvE are not the same as raids in WvW, you don’t build any extra toughness into your gear, because it’s useless and only costs you DPS.
I’m sorry to say this, but you will probably not be able to play both PvE and WvW with the same set, you need to get a separate one for both gamemodes. In PvE you use berserker for power classes and viper (possibly along with sinister or rampager) for condi classes.

If you have 1000 base toughness (which you should) and get to 1400 due to the trait, it’s not your fault, tactics traitline is a given for any warrior, so chronotank usually builds for at least over 1400 so that you can res other people safely.

Get full zerker gear. You are warrior, u wont die easy anyway. I run 1405 toughness on my chrono, so warriors can revive.

1k tougness is must to have in raids. bcouse some chronos run 1080 toughness(pro hardcore) and they will ask u to not to revive.

There’s no need to have toughness on anyway warrior build for raiding unless you’re determined to tank for your own personal groups for whatever reason.
