Guild Wars 2

So after this pvp season is done I am looking into getting started raiding and getting into a guild for weekly raids. I have warrior in full ascended but will also have enough ascended gear to gear out another char.

I would love some advice on which classes I will need to be viable and able to complete every single raid encounter. I was going to use my ascended gear on my mesmer but I have been thinking would I be better to save it for a DPS class as the DPS increase from exotic on mesmer would be minimal in comparison?

The other classes I am thinking of gearing for raids are ele and druid, I’m thinking maybe the ele will benefit the ascended gear the most? My last question is will I actually need a condi class/build to be viable for every encounter? Thanks

With the exception of kc, one dps class that is welcomed everywhere is condi ranger. If u are just starting out condi ps is an amazing option, u can also have a set of exotic for power just for kc.

Things like chrono, druid can be used with exotic sets so its rather cheap. Tempest is not a good class to start cause it needs a lot of experience b4 getting good rotations and dps while surviving.

Condi warrior is in a pretty good place, and warrior in general will be there for long time thanks to the solid buffs it provide, so invest in it is a good idea, it bring banners and empower allies that are a lot of stats boost.
Druid will still be needed until anet change Grace of the Land or give some other professione something with similar effect that don’t stack with it, and in general condi ranger is a good dps without an overcomplicated rotation, also spirit+spotter will probably reserve a spot in raid for generic ranger even in the future.
Elementalist it’s the incarnation of glasscannon dps profession, I think the difficulty in its rotation is overestimated unless you will be raiding in an elitist min/max guild, I mean the latest condi build stay in fire attunement and use pretty much its skill on cooldown, and even the staff build is not that complicated something like: stay in fire when you’ve used all relevant fire skill switch to air, use a conjured weapon and storm while overload charge and use it asap, return to fire… , like most of pve is about pratice the rotation on dummy and learn boss mechanic.
Chronomancer, I think it require more time to farm the full set of Dragon stand rune and the ~70 gold sigil than the time required to catch the skill rotation, I’m pretty sure i’ve seen somewhere on youtube a video about making the chrono rotation changing the keybind and using it in sequence from 1 to 10.

Just farm some wvw pips and get leadership runes with heroics. Much faster than farming ds.

Awesome thanks. Yeah I will be doing wvw to get the runes for my mesmer. So I think I will focus on getting cps/condi ranger/mesmer geared up. Would this guarantee me a slot in most groups and get all the encounters done? Guessing I’m looking at these builds;

Also if I’m going to be using warrior for cps mostly do you think it’s worth stat swapping then getting an exotic power set for backup?

Yes these classes are usually guaranteed spot (also magi druid). And yes stat swapping your ascended gear to viper and making an exotic power set for war is the best u can do.
