I just want to throw my name down here as an interested raider. I have a fully ascended PS Warrior and I have the mechanics of VG down pretty well (I have 3 kills). I’ve put in several hours on Gorseval and I’ve yet to get a kill so definitely looking to practice that even more. I’ve put about an hour into Sabetha and I’m still pretty terrible at that. I also have a Viper Reaper that’s not quite meta (Full viper armor and weapons, but I only have 2 ascended sinister trinkets and 1 ascended viper trinket, the rest are exotic rampagers). Looking to practice with that toon on anything.

You can get a full set of sinister trinkets (except the back) from doing the Living Story achievements. I think it took me about a day or two to solo them all.

Unfortunately 2 of the living story episodes I need to do the achievements on are bugged to the point you can’t progress anymore. They’re in the known issues tracker but who knows when they’ll fix it. Thanks for trying to help though :-)

Don’t know if this is still a thing, but if so I would love to add myself to the list. Mainly have a druid but could also possibly play my chrono.

I play since the first day. My main is an ele (full ascended) also have a revenant close to full ascended. All other are 80 with exo armor and ascended acces but I would prefer to stay with ele or rev.

I would definitely be interested. I’m in a guild that runs teaching groups, but they can only take so many people at a time, and sometimes there are not enough people on to even run it. I live in the CST timezone and run a Tempest with Marauder’s gear (full ascended) and some PVT trinkets. I generally run Auramancer build but can switch to Fresh Air build to maximize DPS, whatever’s clever. Hit me up in game sometime

I confess I almost never look at this subforum but I’d be interested in giving raids a go. I can’t do evenings (eastern time, I am NA) on Tuesday, Sunday, or alternate Wednesdays but am otherwise generally available. I have a full ascended Mesmer/Chronomancer and a mostly Ascended Daredevil though his raid gear, after coaching from a guildie, is exotics statted to a build I don’t usually use.

I don’t stress over wipes, I do listen to instructions, I’m fine with Mumble or Discord and can deal with TS or Skype. I have yet to defeat VG, but then I’ve only been in a raid twice here (years of it in WoW) and neither time had 10 people.

I would love love love to get into one of these “classes”
Fairly new to the game about 4 months play time. As is I think I have only done a few dungeons. I am afraid to pug the groups because I just don’t have any real experience in dungeons or raids.

I am currently playing dragonhunter but I have a full spec’d druid as well. A necro, thief and revenant at 80 but I haven’t spent the time to unlock there full elite specs.
All of my classes are full exotic with ascended rings, necklace and I think 1 trinket.

I have avoided this content due to the sole fact my guild primarily focuses on wvw and they don’t play nearly as much as I do. Coupled with the fact I am unsure of exactly what type of gear/build is best for this type of content. I am still in the testing and learning phases and as you can imagine I have spent a good chunk of gold on all of my characters (exotics, runes and sigils that aren’t cheap).

I joined them today! No raid yet but lots of patience from Random in guiding me through gearing my heal druid to suit. He’s provided a spreadsheet for each profession as to desired gear, build, and consumables, along with tweaks to use per boss. I’m sure his way isn’t the only way but I was happy to set up my Druid with guidance from someone knowledgeable.

Hint to anyone joining, have TeamSpeak accessible as you’ll need that to get the spreadsheet links needed and to be in voice for the raids.

I’ll jump into this. I can probably bring some people along as well. Never even stepped inside raids, but I was running people through dungeons before the reward nerf basically every day.

Also consistently run lvl 40+ Fractals with pugs without much trouble.

Have a fully Ascended Ele, Warrior and Guardian available.

I’ll add you when I get on tomorrow. Cheers on the initiative.

I’m interested. I usually play late at night after 11 PM PST on weekdays. Can make time on weekends. I’ve beat VG once and have came close quite a few times with pugs. I’m looking to try the other bosses. I’ve watched videos and will do research.

Best to worse classes:
1. full ascended PS Berserker,
2. full ascended Tempest (staff or dagger/warhorn)

Dropoff with familiarity after first 2 classes
3. Full ascended Viper/sinister Engi(I know the rotations, but far from perfect executing)
4. Can get full ascended Dragonhunter with mace/shield/ hammmer

Prefer to use the first 2.

Hello everyone,
I am willing to run training raids on EU. I did one tonight with a group of pugs and we will be trying again tomorrow at 8PM CEST. Anyone is welcome to join all we ask is that you have at least exotic gear and have read the Dulfy guide on how to do Vale Guardian. If anyone is interested message me on here or in game.

If you’re in doubt, join! It’s still recruiting and didn’t require me to represent it. They explain the raids quite well.

I think this is great and I’d like to learn, appreciate the offer.

Even though I havent gotten into the raids yet, I’m a very experienced player with a good understanding and playtime on each class, extensive dungeon experience, and I’m well versed in group play with varying roles and team-oriented builds/playstyles. I’m very willing to adopt any build/role, and I understand class skills/mechanics quite well. It’s mostly just the raid itself I need to learn, but I learn fast.

I have at least ascended trinkets (minus accessories) and weapons on each class, some also with full/partial ascended armor. Here’s what I’m familiar with running:

Berserker Herald (Main) – Full Ascended, S/S + Hammer, can run any stance – very xp
Berserker Dragonhunter – Full Ascended, Hammer + LB, have used all weps – very xp
Berserker Reaper – 3/6 armor and rest all ascended, GS + Axe/Wh or focus – very xp
Berserker Berserker :P – GS + Axe/mace mostly, banners, etc – very xp

The rest of the classes I also have exotic/ascended gear and quite a bit of playtime in groups, just far less experience since the elite specs, but I can learn for sure

Let me know if you’re still available to teach

Wife and I are interested. We’re CD NA. Both have every class with ascended/exo mix.

I’m very xp on Ranger/Druid, Rev/Herald, Warrior, and pretty exp on everything else but ele and engineer elites.

Speaking from a PVE-only point of view…

Our guild runs raid on sundays and often finds ourselves short a few people. Your "teach, not berate philosophy is very much how we approach raids as well. Be happy to take down your contact info or take a spot in your guild to increase my pool of cool raiders to hang out with.

Our guild runs teaching runs as well. Everyone is welcome. We will even buy them the right exotic gear. Interest has been remarkably low. We did get a couple people VG kills who thought they would never be able to.

Thought I am sure these are not the type of people that are complaining the raid is too hard. They just do not have the interest.

Its a vicious cycle.

People don’t raid because they have no experience, and GW2’s PVE community is notorious for being a bunch of screechy children when it comes to dealing with mistakes. Which completely taints the entire mode of game play unless you’re working out of your friends list.

Even with the most unremarkable, simplistic encounters from which it’s almost impossible to fail, people will still find something to whine about.

And so because they have no experience, they don’t raid.

It helps nothing that the game does nothing to really introduce players to actual raiding.

To be fair, I got into a scale 100 Mai Trin where a Revenant came in and was camping Hammer autoattacks on the CHAMP asura before Mai.

She had many, many scales to learn the kitten thing. Some people are just more attached to the aesthetics of their weapons than what is optimal for a group.

I can’t count on my hands how many times I’ve gotten a necro who has Nevermore so he just wants to sit on staff instead of scepter, or an ele using Meteorologicus while there’s no perma alacrity setup so scepter is terrible.

Hey, any EU guilds doing this? I already sent Mikey a PM just now, but a guild for this would be useful.

I do find it is really quite hard to get started into raids at this point unless you are part of a guild that has plenty of active raiders (which I am not). Everyone and their dog wants you to have Legendary Insights to even let you join.

Any friendly guild on EU servers running this kind of thing? I’ve a Tempest I’m most used to who is full ascended and although am used to s/w can transfer to d/w auramancer healer as specified on metabattle. Only thing I don’t wish to change is my runes. I’ve Strength runes throughout and metabattle asks for scholar. Since she’s full ascended and strength runes are insanely expensive, I don’t want to make a new set :/

I also have a metabattle (for raids) built Revenant (glint/mallyx) he has zero ascended pieces, but is full exotic and is exactly specified on metabattle.

Finally, I have a condi reaper/horror but she is without viper stats so is probably a no go, even though she does insane condi damage. Once the GH is done with Linseed, I can give her viper stuff unless I get drops in the meantime.

Really want to try raiding out though and learn, have fun. My husband also. Please pm me if there are any EU guilds offering teaching runs – would we have to join and 100% rep since I run my own guild?
