Guild Wars 2

Hi all. New player and I’m really interested in eventually getting into the raid scene when I hit max level. I’m interested in playing Guardian, but I want to be viable in raids and I’ve read that they are pretty mediocre and people don’t really want them and would prefer Warriors. Is this still true? Would you recommend that I roll a Warrior instead of a Guardian? Thanks!

Bad time to ask this. With the expansion around the corner and 9 new elite, the raid meta sure will take a hit. So maybe guardian will be part of the meta? We dont know, you should stick with the class you like for now.

Oni has already said the most important thing – the meta will most likely be shaken up and we have no idea what it looks like once the new elites are there. Currently, guardian is certainly viable, but not optimal – that means you’ll get into raids with a PS warr more easily. If you want to raid with the guard, try to find a bunch of reasonable people, but somehow that’s no trivial task.

As long as banners exist without a major overhaul, warrior will always be meta as it has always been. Guardian has no such safety net and as such been periodically in and out of the meta. Currently guard is not meta.
