Ranger lupi solo
So much better than Dub’s engi solo. this is officially sanderinoa approved, goodjob.
Well done sir, congrats!!
haviz’s approval™ as well. GG
Very nice job. I was leveling a ranger just to do this but I just knew I someone would do this before I got to 80. My bets were on Dub but it looks like you won.
wow. nice job! also, extremely lucky of you to not get trapped at all

This bugged me too, but I can confirm that during his tries he has been trapped plenty and was able to get out 80% of the time.(I was stuck hosting the dungeon for hours!)
Congratulations!
Sadly, your pet was 99% of the fight dead meat

I must admit that i used the “don’t move and lupi doesn’t use his bubble” trick (got that one from Dub), which makes this fight quite a bit easier.
Both of the Rangers stability skills have 1 second activation time, so you would have to take at least 1 hit each time and the cooldowns are quite long, so i pretty much had to use that trick (unlike warrior).
Congratulations!

Pet can’t be alive because it would make his dps negative basically.

In addition to acting as medkit for lupi, it might also cause some bubbles
Great job! Very surprised you went with axe main hand in both but it makes sense with the off hands being as good as they are. Sword wouldn’t have been a good choice either for obvious reasons. I just wish thief dagger storm reflected as well as your axe 5.
Why didn’t you use your pets though. I’m sure a lot of rangers would like to know.

Congratulation. I thought Dub would do that before anyone but obviously you beat him to the punch.

Negative dps.

I tried to use them in phase 1, but they barely survived 2 seconds between lupis kicks and all the locusts. In phase 2 his aoe and punches would probably also get them every time. In Phase 3 they might cause bubbles by moving too much and even more important: lupi would regain health by using his life leech attacks on pets. So i just don’t see how pets could be useful in this solo.
Regarding weapons, i assure you that axe wasn’t my first choice. I would have liked to use sword/axe + greatsword, but i couldn’t use sword for obvious reasons and greatsword got me killed multiple times, because the built-in evade interferes with dodging.

He was close and without some serious bad luck he probably would have been first
Can you (or Dub, haviz, whoeva) explain a bit on the best way to get to Lupi for a solo practice setup? Obal mentioned just having a guardian help you get to him on p2, but I personally haven’t seen it done and would like to start practicing this on my warrior.

You can solo path 2 pretty easily. That’s usually what I did.

What Masked said, you can solo path 2 quite easily on a warrior.
First boss: hide behind structures whenever your heal is on CD, avoid barrels and range her.
Second boss: kill the technicians and stack the guns on the other side of the room. Kill the abomination and avoid his mace/club swings. Take balance stance for his berserker phase (he will knock you down when he goes berserker). He will go berserker form every 45 seconds and stay in 450-600 range of him or he’ll throw boulders at you.
Risen hunter: run and drag the risen hunter towards the WP after the abomination and range/melee him. If you die, quickly WP and attack him again to keep him in combat.
That should get you to Lupi and good luck.
Thank you for doing this, congrats.

Dub gave up mentally, Obal.

Thanks to those morons giving advises on pets on Ranger’s forum.

Axe is simply more mobile. In my best attempts, I used axe/axe and greatsword. In fact, in phase 2, you can sync up your greatsword autoattack such that it autoevades on lupicus’s attacks. Ultimately, I was unable to defeat him. This video is inspiring and makes me want to try again. Kull, simply fantastic work.

“quite a bit”
Great job indeed, especially because it has been the first try after me going offline.
@obal, thanks for your evidience in me but i only had 2 hours time on ranger in which i had delay ~1 hour and then tried another 40 minutes on greatsword which always killed me by canceling my dodges. My first try with axe mainhand only and two energy sigils ended up with beeing kicked out (acc owner logged in lol) at 5% of lupicus hp left ._. Did not have the chance to play a ranger from that on.
Wow very very nice man. Makes me want to work on becoming a better ranger.

I don’t think there are many rangers who don’t understand how much of a hindrance the pet is. For the same reason rangers aren’t surprised he didn’t use the sword, rangers wouldn’t be surprised the pet wasn’t useful.
Grats on this. I didn’t care much about some of the other solos, but doing it with a ranger (and with an axe main hand as your primary DPS, ugh) must have been tedious and difficult work.
Whirling Defense has been main dps source.
Such an underrated skill
Many kudos to Kull!
How come all his single target projectile just “disappeared” ? :P (the one where he tries to give high fives)

It misses you when you’re in melee or close to him.

Yep, that just goes to show how important positioning is in every aspect of this fight. He’s moving in a very precise way in order to successfully juggle several problems Lupicus throws at him at each phase in the fight.
Whirling Defense has been main dps source.
I keep forgetting how OP reflection is.
Good job! You beat Robert!!!
