Hey all,

After taking a look at people’s feedback from the changes to AC I noticed a pretty big trend.
- Nearly all were feedback from Level 80’s
- Found the content challenging to them (being scaled down from 80 to 35)

Obviously, there’s a big difference between an 80 and 35 when you’re only scaling attributes since the trait-lines are quite a defining difference.

In light of the upcoming changes that are soon to come to other dungeons I think there needs to be a change in the recommended/required level ranges for each of these dungeons, I mean, let’s be frank – the changes wern’t directed towards those 35’ers that just managed to get through it at a normal pace. It was directed to those 80’s in rares/exotics that often blitzed everything as fast as they could.

So why not just turn the recommended level to something like 60 (when you can get the final trainer book and can start being on par with those lvl 80s) and push more encouragement towards storymodes for those players below that level.

Simple reason against your idea: it does nothing except block access from people who CAN do the dungeon at the minimum required level. Key word; minimum.

I agree…That’s a fair point.
Then again, it’s no different from a majority of LFG posts on GW2LFG.com requesting 80s for a 35 dungeon, or incredibly reluctant to add a few to the party.

With added damage or difficulty for each dungeon of the lower levels that may arise in later changes, this eventually becomes 80’s only by law of players based off changes made by devs.

As I said, the changes that make something significantly harder, will be a challenge for 80’s but it’s a little overkill for 35’s. Either they make the recommended levels higher, or completely revamp the way scaling is done for dungeons (remove traits from 80’s to match that of a level 35)

Lets be extremely cynical. The only reason the recommended level exists is to prevent salvage of rares from 30 tokens. Thats being cynical.

As for blitzing with exotics. We would any of us spend all that time to play and level up if we couldn’t blitz. Some of us have played through most if not all the game for fun, enjoyability and sometimes with great patience. Crawl through coppers, walk through silvers and run to gold. Thats the design of the game and every rpg since forever.

Our guild often has newbies join, people who for whatever reason have just started playing GW2. Often one of the first things asked is “When can I go to a dungeon?” Even before the change, I felt it was only fair to tell them that it would be somewhat unlikely they would get into a group at level 35 unless it was a guild group that would not mind teaching them and dealing with their being unable to contribute as much as a higher level toon. Learning curve be kitten you will alienate the newbies.

I have not used GW2LFG.com, nor will I. I don’t like the idea of using a 3rd party site to find groups for a game. I stand out side of the instance or in Lion’s Arch (where cross server groups can be made) in search of a group, or start one myself using map chat. I am guessing that on that site people place posts for what they are looking for, I have seen a lot of complaints here about lfg posts for 80 only on that site, and have seen far less of it standing at the instance on my server, Borlis Pass. Not to say there aren’t people looking for speed runs at the instances, but they are usually clear about it and can be avoided. Most of the time I get grouped within a matter of minutes. I have not been kicked from a group, even if I am the only one under 80 (except once for FotM level 1, I joined a group at 58 thinking that the scaling up to 80 mattered, was kicked before the instance started when I confirmed that I did not have an 80 at the time, that was understandable). In the other instances, if I am at level to under 80, I pull my weight with support, control, and reviving if my dps is not comparable to the others in my group. The instances are very doable at level with the entire group if everyone learns what and when to do. The mentality of the instances being for 80 only is a player based monster, and only feeds the later posts that the instances are too easy when 80 groups can breeze through it since they are geared, traited, and experienced at it. The player base was a lot more fun to deal with at launch when everyone was learning and leveling IMO.

Because people can still have the option to be carried by friends/guildmates through those instances. Doing that would block access.
