Refreshing
To each his own I suppose. Coming from City of heroes, my only problem with the game is the feeling of utter insignificance and weakness compared to some ghost mob in a dungeon.
Id like to see difficulty ramped up adding lots of mobs or say mobs using siege equipment vs just putting small groups of one shotting minions.
Or, and I know this is mostly just asthetics, have 1 or 2 unique named hero mobs per group, with weaker minions. Its a bit of an immersion breaker to have generic ranger or warrior or whatever just whupping my sorry behind.
For the outdoors I do like how things scale, I generally don’t fight more than 1 or 2 things my level at a time, but when I team up with just one other, suddenly we can take on groups of 5 or more by working together.

When my guild mates and I first stepped foot in AC we definitely had trouble adjusting and there was almost a feeling that the learning curve would be too overwhelming, how ever just a couple days later we’ve found our selves really enjoying the content. We’ve completed numerous explorables and are having a blast doing so. The combat style feels fun and fast paced. I personally love that the “trash” pulls I’m used to from other mmos have been made much more difficult.
Of course there are many bugs and progress blocking issues still to be dealt with and the barter price for exotics certainly needs to be cut in half or at least the tokens bound to account. My overall impressions of dungeons has been a positive one and I believe I speak for the rest of my guild as well.
I am very glad to see someone else as well, having this opinion about dungeons in gw2! My first experience with the dungeons was a little bit sad, because we choose the middle way, and got stuck with Detha Tremblebones, who would’t want to repair the canons, instead she just attacked the ghosts – and I don’t know why, but they were way to strong for us. Later, I found an article on the offical gw2 wiki, wich confirmed my thought – the npc was bugged.
WoW tried making trash stupidly hard. People hated it for a good reason.
I wouldnt say by any means the trash in this game is stupid hard, but i dont prefer to face roll 80% of every instance.
