Remove Waypoint teleport while fighting a boss!

In dungeon events you can teleport, but in bosses, i think the room should be closed and no one can enter or leave until the boss is dead or you wipe!

They would have to seriously redesign a lot of encounters for that to be viable. I mean I’m all for a challenge but there is very clearly some bosses (and almost all champion world events) that have some sort of a ‘you die instant like now’ ability.
Throw in the fact that boss AI currently prioritises anyone trying to res downed players and its pretty much guaranteed in a lot of boss fights people are dying and running back and it seems like it is intentionally designed to be as such.

Then the game isn’t challenging at all! Did arah explorable yesterday with a pub and we completed it! The end game instances are easy beacause of that… you die and you have unlimited lifes…

I agree. Just saying that you would have to tweak the encounters first because otherwise you would swing too far to the other direction.
There is to many massive one shots and killing of ressing people currently that if you just straight tacked a ‘you can’t run back’ thing on some encounters would go from a too easy graveyard zerg to near impossible.

I agree. It should be possible to do all of the encounters without dying. Some encounters are being completed SOLELY by utilising the “die and run back” mechanic because they are too difficult. There’s one such encounter on Magg in CoF where people say “3 out 2 in”. This means 3 people wait outside the encounter wait until one of the ones inside it dies and then enters, to keep the battle going while the previous person runs back.

I think a LOT of encounters need to be made predictable or comprehensible, lowered in difficulty or tweaked in another manner. At the moment, there are too many random 1 shot kills from bosses, or attacks that can’t be evaded enough, like the two guys who breathe ice in Honor of the Waves.

They’ve taken away all the tanks & healers and replaced them with control/support that can’t control/support because the bosses still have the “immune to/mitigates control” buff from the tanks & healers system. In addition, I’m struggling to identify the support pillar, frankly.

Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.

They’ve taken away all the tanks & healers and replaced them with control/support that can’t control/support because the bosses still have the “immune to/mitigates control” buff.

“We didn’t want to use the holy trinity because it’s not dynamic. Instead, we want everyone to be DPS and use control abilities to stay alive, except we’re not going to let you use them (reliably) on the hardest content in the game; we gave bosses a soft counter to control, which is a giant middle finger to the very idea of our control/support system.”

I’m sure it all made sense at some point.

I figured dieing and having to pay the repair build was punishment enough -.- factor in a couple of deaths and you’re just happy to complete it to cover the repair bill.

What you are suggesting is that people who die alot at a boss should have an added level of difficulty, thus making it less likely they will complete it… meaning completely losing that money for the repair bill.

I’m all for a challenge but I think if what you suggest is implemented, even less people would do the harder dungeons ( aka Arah) than now.

Besides, if you do the Jotun Path on Arah you may as well not have a way point due to the huge distance you have to run back anyway lol.

Just read that.. Those people are crazy O_O

I hate to think that people are forced to resort to that. Perhaps removal of WP’s will force people to understand how the boss works to get it done, but knowing the regular pug… they will probably just give up on dungeons all together >_<
