Reporting "Kick player" abuse (fotm/dungeons)
best option is screen shot and email to the exploits email for ANet Either that or support ticket with same info.

Uh, what would I screenshot? You can’t know it’s coming. The kick takes place in a fraction of a second. The party is disbanded due to the kicking, so you can’t know for sure who the second person even was. You only see the kicker if you are paying attention and aren’t the first to be kicked.
This is really ridiculous and needs to be addressed.
Make a screenshot of the group before you start doing the dungeon. Anets support team will get the necessary information, when you give the raw details.

That only addresses the effect though. The whole issue could at least be resolved by removing the function in FOTM, or at least requiring a majority vote. You’re still out of two hours of time, and you shouldn’t have to screenshot it in the first place. There needs to be more report options.
I will however start SS’ing groups before hand though until this is appropriately addressed.

So is there somewhere to report players who do this? I just finished a FotM 20 run and as we kill Jade Maw BAM I’m back in LA. Everyone in group doesn’t respond to messages. Just to be annoying. It’s really a waste because you spend 2+ hours playing through that and you get nothing.
to the OP: you just got trolled by smarter players, that is all i see
and in the opinion of others in your party you didn’t deserve the loot/chest/completion
If one doesn’t deserve to complete…they ought to have been booted in the first pull.
Letting them spend two hours getting to the final boss is BS on a huge scale… agree with the others. You should send screen shots of all of your party. Let the Devs start tracking them. Over time, the one’s who are guilty will get caught and hopefully banned. Best you can hope for.
Better to change it so that if the group decides to kick more than one person at the end… it just disbands the whole group… denying everyone loot.
I 100% agree with you Dhar – you already spend so much time doing these dungeons and the whole point is to get the reward at the end. However it’s stupid that everytime you party up with people you should take a screenshot so you can report some players IF you get kicked right at the end. Not to mention they’re probably not going to get banned. You also don’t know who booted you.
It’s really a disappointment that this can happen. TWO HOURS and you get nothing out of it. It’s not up to two others to decide at the end it you’re worthy of getting the chest, you traversed the whole dungeon with the group and did your share of the work. Without you the group would not have been able to complete the dungeon.
Why are they kicking you in the first place? I don’t understand. I’m so confused. What’s the point? Is this a common problem? I mainly run Dungeons with my guild group and have had no problems in the few PuG’s I’ve done o.0

Letting them spend two hours getting to the final boss is BS on a huge scale
That’s just harsher way to punish someone. 1 vote for kick isn’t good though.
“Why are they kicking you in the first place? I don’t understand. I’m so confused. What’s the point? Is this a common problem?”
It’s literally two people being trolls. For example I was kicked right at the end and my group barely spoke to one another. All of a sudden I was in LA and I couldn’t message anyone in the group. They either blocked me or immediately logged off. Not everyone is in a guild Towren.
if kicking people is “smarter player” then maybe i’ll be genius if i kick like 5 or 10 guys?
also n-one can judge who will deserve what. everyone get loot for their time invested.
DanH could be those who like to kick people lol.
as for OP. they cant inv more people into FOTM so maybe you did something ….not good

Most likely cause is to invite someone else into the group at the last minute…another guildie or friend so they can get loot. Assuming that the last boss gives the best stuff.
I’ve been kicked before, literally for playing a class better than someone else. That was literally the reason they gave. Why?…because I managed to solo the shiverpeak/dragonseeker’s bonfire and elemental, and also because I managed to solo the underwater fractal boss down to 50% HP before the rest of the team got through the dark room.
I did the same thing the OP did, reported the two guildies under “scamming”…so, there does need to be a better option. Oh, and I had to go a roundabout way to get their names right because when you are kicked, it immediately loads you into a different map AND clears your party chat log.
when will anet implemente 3 vote for kick?

Hmmm you were kicked out by fellow guildies?

This is the dumbest response to a legit concern. Are you capable of forming a concrete response? Or are you sitting around with your freckled-acne ridden friends, trolling forum posts.
Go outside.

You should be banned for a week for promoting this kind of behavior.

Sounds like you consistently left your group behind? I would have requested to kick you as well.
Oh man I can’t believe this is actually happening.
I guess from now on I will only do dungeon runs with my guild or friends. Until they fix this issue PUG’s are just too risky to get in with.
I hope Anet really takes a closer look at this one because this really should not happen.
And those players doing the kicking just to invite their friends so they can get the rewards should have their accounts suspended for griefing.
:(

Here here. Fractals is about working together, not showing you can solo things yourself. If you really wanted to solo things yourself, then just play Fractals by yourself and only yourself — I can only imagine how far you would get without help.
they wont do anything about it.
its the same complete idiocy which is behind no lfg system yet.
its stuff that would take roughly 1 week to fix completely but anet dont give a kitten and therefore its not fixed yet…
personally i never enter a fractal unless i or a guildmate are the once that opens it so if idiots does this they all get kicked becouse the dungeon opener was kicked out. only way to insure that people ain’t able to do this kitten..

No, the two people that kicked me were in the same guild. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

…and how do you figure that? I specifically called out I was going to solo bonfire, and start on jelly soon as I got there. No one objected, and infact, in bonfire, they stood and waited by the last fire place before I opened the path for them, and on jelly, they requested I get started since they were taking too long. On the elemental, they refused to listen to me and aggro’d every single add and got themselves wiped.

You expect me to break my armour and reset bosses when other people failed? I’d consider doing that when I have hours on end to spend sitting in a dungeon wasting time attempting it, and when people are paying for those repair costs. Unlike some people, others are on limited time. They do not wish to spend 3 hours in a dungeon like Fractals.
Oh, and for the record…underwater fractals is completely soloable, and takes little to no effort.

Why can’t they just make it that if a player is in a party in fracs/dungeons for more than 30 mins. they cannot be kicked. Pretty sure if the player is bad enough to warrant a kick in the first place you will know within the first 30 mins. or less. Or just make it that you cannot kick players during fracs/dungeons at all, since Anet is so into making us “work” together, why not force players to work with whoever they had invited from the start to finish or till all give up.
I believe it should be simple. Only original party members can join/rejoin, in cases of D/cs and such. No new party members can join, you kick someone thats it you lose the slot. No grabbing someone else and thats the price you’d pay. Work together or fail together.

What happens when someone decides to go AFK for 30 minutes and have lunch. Is the rest of the group supposed to wait?
How about someone sitting at the spawn the entire run?
What about people who simply dies so much that you are making more progress having them dead the entire run?
Then there are these people who start mouthing off the whole run insulting everyone instead of playing?
I was running the “Sorrow’s Embrace” dungeon and informed the person recruiting that I was a new player and had not run the explorer mode, but I did watch a walk-through video. They said that that was fine and that they would let me and the other new person know what to do. They did not communicate what to do till after we had already died. They were complaining about getting the dungeon done before the reset and said it was our fault for it taking an hour instead of twenty minutes. I was kicked after helping them defeat the three final golems and got no reward. I was very honest and upfront about my experience with this dungeon and I am rather disgusted with the behavior of these players. I paid the same amount of money to purchase this game as the players who bought it at launch and do not think that I should be penalized or abused for not buying it sooner.
i mean u could havea 4 man vote to kick an it wouldnt help, i men exp… (would not do this). run FoTM get to Maw kick the 1 person i dont know becuase there are four of us i know an are in TS3, skype, vent ect.. kick him becuase i dont care about him an invite my brother or coworker becuase they are more important then some pug an anet made it possiable to screw pugs and am going to do it till they fix it
I take a screenshot of party chat before every fractal run now especially if there are multiple members from one guild in party. I also mention in party chat that a friend of mine was perma banned for kicking at the maw to let his guild mates in before we start.
It’s ridiculous that this is even possible… problem is anet cant take away kicking from a party for obvious reasons. Would be a difficult fix.

They will probably kick you just like that to see what would happen.

You’re not being penalized, you’re being the subject of a most unfortunate exploit. And it’s not because you hadn’t done it before, its because the team you were on was full of jerks who have nothing better to do than screw over respectful people….its infuriating to say the least

I want to play devil’s advocate here. It seems that you are casting yourself in a very favorable light while the kickers in a negative light. (Of course we don’t know what really happened since your version of the story is the only one being presented.)
I agree that sometimes people are overly intolerant and jerks and kick for no good reason whatsoever, but a majority of the times there’s a good reason why they vote kick.
There are alot of players that haven’t done certain dungeon runs and react negatively or not at all to feedback and that creates frustration. I have personally no problem with seconding a vote to kick those type of people.
As far as I am concerned if you are a noob to a dungeon you better listen well to the others and don’t give any attitude. If you don’t then you deserve to be kicked.

I let these players know know before I joined their group that I was new and didn’t have experience with this dungeon. If they were pressed for time they shouldn’t let me join or mention that they are going for a speed run. I tried to follow in tight behind the group and did anything that I was instructed to do. Not a lot of instruction was given. It wasn’t like I didn’t contribute anything to team. I’m sorry they missed the reset, but that means I did too. I attacked what was targeted, switched to range when I noticed that was what the other players were doing, and helped downed players. I just want to play a game and have a good time. I know their are people that take this game very seriously, but do you have to be mean?

Well, if what you say is true and they kicked you before the reward, then they might’ve wanted to invite a friend in your place to get the reward you were going to get.
Often times though, I notice noobs to dungeons get kicked for having an attitude when people try to tell them what to do.
Never been a victim of it… but i feel u guys as once in awhile i take 3 guildies with myself and find one PUG…they were like… u guys arent going to kick me at final boss rite… ? But my guild nvr did…
So problem exists but…well some people are tolerant…some are not…sadly..thats life
when will anet implemente 3 vote for kick?
Would this solve the problem? If you have 3 guildies and two pick-ups the abuse will continue. 4 votes, well today I joined a group with 4 people form the same guild. They could have kick trolled me if they wanted to. But there is another side to this, 3 to 4 votes and it becomes difficult to kick a bad player if they have a friend and/or you just have a person who doesn’t like kicking people.
I think maybe a better option would be a cumulative vote. I.e. if you kick someone before or shortly after the first boss (or first fractal), you just need two votes. Second boss or second fractal, you need three votes. Any point after that you need all four people to agree. This way you prevent the end chest trolls but also have a good safety net to kick disagreeable players.
This is why I always try to be the one that opens the instance. If you kick me, you all get kicked.
Report someone for kick from party abuse would be nice, though it will definitely be spammed to death by people who report others for kicking, even though they got kicked for a perfectly valid reason.

I think a 3 vote kick is hardly foolproof but it does make it slightly harder for a group of individuals to grief or troll in this manner. Your suggestion is not a bad idea too.
However, if a group of individuals intend to grief/troll by majority vote kicking (even to the extent of 4 of them grouping together to make LF1M requests specifically to grief/troll) they are likely to succeed. Sad but true.
I think Arenet should force a 3 man vote if you get to the last boss of fractal.
Btw, personally, I don’t kick people. Worst case of all, I quit. I have been in teams where someone don’t speak English and couldn’t get what to do. I have been in team where it takes over 1h to beat the boss of cof path1. Hey… you can’t get always a perfect team doing a perfect run, and these weird situation is what I find memorable.
anthony.1460 and his buddy just did this to me on the last fract. The best part is he was one of the worst players in our party…
honestly, ban kicking after 10 mins in the dungeon, have a voted “jail” option to jail/release malicious/bad players. Bad players will leave the party on jail, instead of sitting for 30 mins, unless you are maliciously jailing him. Malicious players can already hurt you in the current set up by setting up the instance and then making life miserable for you or leaving the party, but in a more fun way without sitting in a jail. If you can’t 4 man the dungeon, sorry you shouldn’t kick players anyways.
If you’re doing a speedrun and need 5 people, you will know to kick the guy out in the first 10 mins.
What about when a player gets kicked, all loot that is rightfully theirs (chests that they have access to, etc.) will be automatically looted? And no kicking while in combat so players can’t kick when the boss only as 5% HP left or something.
Easy fix – need the whole party to agree to kick someone, not two people.
Kicking would still happen, but it sure wouldn’t be as often.
Now tho ever since new fractal thing where you can add new people to the group mid dungeon, I tend to not join guild that are running them, simply because I don’t want to get kicked at maw so their guildy can finish it and get the reward, while it has never happened to me I know people that it did happen to, so, no thank you.
So it’s been a year now and this is still happening? I am so frustrated with good players trying to make it to the end of the dungeon and get kick in a fraction of a second. So frustrating. How come nothing has been done to fix this issue? It is not a matter of reporting it to the dev guys but just disable the kick button. if the dungeon started is offline for 5 minutes then the system will automatically kick that person out without ending the current session. Done and deal. Why are people still kicking people? I do not get it!
Can someone explain why this is somehow “wrong.” Yeah it sucks but again, why should Anet start setting off suspensions and bans because you get kicked to make room for a good friend, or because someones a jerk. Ok, someones a jerk…what can Anet do?
You can add a requirement to list a reason for the kick (see TF2 kicking, with more options), but really, why should Anet go berserk on people just for being jerks.

How is this not wrong? You and I should run fractals sometime and you should let me kick you every time for kittens and giggles on the boss fractal. You spend time and effort into doing dungeons and fractals, etc. only to get kicked at the end, and most of the time with no explanation. Way the hell shouldn’t these players pay some from of penalty for childish stuff like this?
Idk if it’s the correct report or not, but when I get kicked for no reason other than “my guildy needs the run more than you”, even after all the work I did, I usually just report for LFG system abuse, because I believe that’s abusing LFG if you’re giving the run away to someone who “needed the run more” than you, who just put in all the work.
