Revenant Solo DPS v. Other Classes
That was 4 months ago before the june patch though, lots of changes.
ah, OK. I missed that. I’ve been inactive for about a year.
Has anyone done a newer comparison?
If you can persuade Keyz she probably has numbers lying around for all the classes pre and post elite specs.
Tested some target dummy times on classes I play most :
All times are for 4 kills in a row.
Staff ele (25 might prestacked) – 33s
Staff ele (no prestacked might) – 49s
D/F ele (no prestacked might) – 59s
GS Axe/Mace war (solo build) – 43s
GS Axe/Mace war (phalanx strength build) – 49s
War with berserker spec – 39s
D/D thief – 51s
LB Sword/Axe ranger – 1 min 5s
Guard – 59s
I used “meta” builds and “optimal” rotations for all kills.
Would do more classes, but I’m not used to playing them so I would feel there will be some unfair rotation disadvantages

I think you missed out in that video on a few things.
- Your unrelenting assault split to another mob, losing you damage on the main golem.
- You should be using Shiro/Glint or Shiro/Mallyx for your DPS setup. I don’t know why you camped Shiro when you can simply switch when out of energy to Glint to gain easy stacks of might and perma fury, pop facet of nature, and switch back to shiro to be ready to do another impossible odds cycle.
In fact, with Mallyx you can pop the elite for 15% extra stats and it would be a significant gain in a group setting even if you lose out on Glint’s self buffing.
Otherwise you can also use Glint’s Might active before swapping back to shiro to slap 10 vulnerability on the golem right before applying your shiro burst.
Revenenat is in Engineer/thief levels of DPS, right behind ele. It’s definitely going to be a meta class with Assassin’s presence and the sheer flexibility of the class. Glint is a really undervalued legend and I think with these new mob types the actives might actually be of good use, especially the revealed on the new stealthing mobs.

Nerf ranger plox
Not to mention this was with just rabid ammy since sinister is not in pvp.
(also ignore the audio)
Can someone test engineer with a proper rotation?
I did warrior with strength/arms/berserker and got 39s.
I think warrior might be the second highest personal DPS right now, if engineer isn’t faster

no pet swap? (is it because it’s all buffed up and not worth losing that?) yeah condi ranger is pretty awesome.

Both with horribad rotations imo. I don’t get how you guys get so slow times tho..

No reason to swap pets, no Marskmanship for clarion bond or zephyr’s speed in BM
Slow times?
But I guess engi is around 45 seconds then, which makes warrior better personal DPS (against a target golem), especially with the berserker spec.\
Anet’s censoring is great, cant even write 45 seconds with the “seconds” abbreviated to “s” without getting it turned into kitten

Because it’s a way of writing a/s/s or some kitten

Bleh true, I’ve only been dabbling and have been doing it out of habit
Ok after waking up and reading OP saying killing the golem 4 times I redid the shabang.
Condi ranger 54 seconds from first casting the spirits and 50 seconds from first attack activation.
Condi engi with meh rotations 45 seconds.
Power engi with meh rotations 53 seconds.
Now where’s that coffee of mine…

Hardly worth it since pet condi damage sucks badly and rather keep 25 might on my pet all the time.
What the hell, am I high? nevermind…
Necro dagger (berserker, scholar, force air, perfect rotation): 50 seconds
Necro ds (the same, staff force+strength): 55 seconds
Necro condi (rabid+krait, bursting+battle): 60 seconds
(edited by Sublimatio.6981)
Necro dagger: 50 seconds
Does that mean Nemesis’ calculations were wrong all along, and warrior actually does more DPS than necro? :O
that was unexpected

But you have to do Lich form with all buffs in 25s that’s how you compare necro dps to solo dps! duh… silly elitists.

Yeah, you’re right. I replaced the link with a new vid of Shiro/Glint. The time improved from 59.5 secs to 50 secs.
In fact, with Mallyx you can pop the elite for 15% extra stats and it would be a significant gain in a group setting even if you lose out on Glint’s self buffing.
I tried Shiro/Mallyx after Shiro/Glint, but I kept getting slightly slower times with Mallyx.

Yeah, it happened in the new vid too. It’s because I was using the northern Golem, the one that is closer to the Heavy Golems. I always have to use that one because someone else is always using the Golem I prefer. =(
Otherwise you can also use Glint’s Might active before swapping back to shiro to slap 10 vulnerability on the golem right before applying your shiro burst.
I tried that, but it kept messing up my timings, since the CD on Shiro/Glint swap is 9 secs, and the CD on Burst of Strength is 15 secs. It would always still be on CD when I swapped back to Glint. It’s not a major loss, though, because Sword AA + quickness caps vuln anyway about 1 sec after activating Impossible Odds.

Then I realized that golem is such a masochist he never fights back…
